Titus was silent for a while and I had to look up at him to see that his face was twisted up in worried. "Neither has he returned mine," he said, whispering to himself.

That piqued my interest and an unwanted and unpleasant feeling settled in my stomach. I had been so busy running after Chloe, that I had not noticed Mark's absence in the pack. Did it have anything to do with Lilian's strange behavior? "Since when did you notice this?" I enquired.

"Since after the night of the coronation."

"Hm." I dropped the papers on the desk. "Chloe asked me to deliver a message to to you, that it is a direct order from her." Titus nodded and I ventured. "Come closer," he did and I whispered Chloe's plans in his ear.

He nodded in understanding. Then I asked him to look into Mark's issue and keep me updated. After that, I walked out of his office, heading back to my home office. I connected with Lima, asking him to come over and give me whatever information he had gotten on everyone I asked him to.

I got into the house, the thoughts of Chloe haunting me with every step I take, every corner I looked. I tried to shake the feelings away, not wanting to let my thoughts distract me. I dropped by the kitchen, picked up a bottle of water and a glass, taking them into the office with me.

I checked up on Chloe again, and she still responded. My mind was a wee at ease, at least I knew that she had not been decapitated and her body burnt in the fire. He hated vampires, so he never had any close relationship with them. But if there was one thing he was sure of; was that vampire were merciless and ruthless! Chloe's grandfather would not hesitate to chop off her head if she made one wrong statement, that-"

Knock knock...

I was brought out of my thoughts as a knock came on the door. I settled back in my chair, arranging my thoughts so I could get a whiff of who was at the door. "Come in," I said in a strict tone, once I realized that it was Lima. "Oi! Big bad boy," he started as he strolled into the room with a wide grin on his face and a bunch of files on the other hand. "How are you doing?"

I looked up at him, raising a questioning brow and he straightened, lowering himself into a bow. "Sit Lima," I said in a straight tone. "Show me, what is it that you have for me?"

Seeing that I was not in the mood to play games with him, he went straight to the point. He laid each file down, as he mentioned who it belonged to. "I have information on Lily, Chloe's uncle and Dracula. Which will you look at first?"

I eyed him suspiciously, as he looked awfully serious. It was unlike Lima to act so serious, not even when I warned him. "Which do you think I should go through first?"

He picked up the brown file that was labeled; Tom Tristan(Chloe's uncle). Waving it in my face, he said: "I think you should go through this one first, it has less interesting information and I would rather save the best for the last."

I snatched the file from his hand, flipping it open but my eyes still remained on him. When the paper was fully opened, my eyes left his and I began to read.

"He was murdered in the battle were Chloe lost her parents," he said, watching me as I read. "He also wanted to do away with Chloe but her grandfather refused and when Tom tried to fight him, Dracula sank his talons right into Tom's chest and brought out his heart. His sister escaped, alongside a few member of his pack." He paused, a smug expression clouding over his face. "As far as I am concerned, he is dead meat."

"And what about his sister?" I asked.

Well," he started then sighed. He reached for Lily's file, raising it up in my face. "If you really want to know about her, then our next file to open, is this one!"

I took it from him, this time flipping it open in a hurry. And just like with the Tom file, Lima started to tell me what he knew, as I read it from the paper. My eyes moved over the words in such a hurry that they began to seem blur and I couldn't read any further.

"Damn snake," I muttered under my breath.

"She is working with her, that is all I know for now but I have no clue on whatever it is that she has on her," Lima said. He lifted up Dracula's file. "This is the most interesting of all and the longest, toughest, and most-" "Snap out of it," I scolded. "Can you not see that I am trying to concentrate?"

Lima's lips pressed into a thin line and I almost felt bad, almost but in the end, it was just Lima. He understood me better than any other wolf in the pack and he should understand that I was only stressed and anxious. "Still," he started in a low voice. "I got it for you, did I not?"

I ignored him.

We remained in silence as my eyes scanned through the paper that consisted of knowledge I already had. I was starting to get frustrated and I bet it was displaying on my face, when Lima spoke up. "Alpha I-"

"What?!" I snapped.

He gulped. "Ehem!" He cleared his throat again, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. "If it pleases you, may I speak?"

I scoffed, trying to remember a time where Lima ever bothered to ask for permission, and it was only now I could think about. "Speak up Lima, I am listening...
