Alpha's Little Vampire Mate -
Chapter 92
Marcus's
POV:
I pulled my shirt over my head, as I came back into the room. I felt pretty bad for how I had acted with Chloe, she was just as stress as I am or even more stressed over the situation and I had made it look like she was to be blamed for all that had happened.
I was going to apologize but just as I opened my mouth to speak, I felt her absence in the room. I looked around and truly, she was gone.
I sighed, rubbing a hand down my face as my soldiers sagged. Maybe I had been to harsh on her, I should have been able to handle the situation properly. I decided to go down and have a chat with the maid who she had said saw her transform but when I went down to the kitchen, the cool said the young lass had left in a hurry.
Poor girl, she should have been scared to the death!
I went over to the dinning to have my breakfast, but I could not eat much as I had gotten too accustomed to eating with Chloe ny my side, and how she fed me sometimes and also stole my food. I slammed my fork down on my plate, took a glass of water and went in search of my wife.
She was not at the training ground, which I noticed had become one of her favourite places. She was not at the little lake where she loved to pass free time and obviously, I knew she would not be over at Mark's and Lily's, but I had to check for some certain reasons and she also was not there.
My mind clouded with fury, when after five hours of searching non stop, I still had no trace on her. She would not reply to any of my messages, neither will she come back home and it was making me feel restless.
I went back to Mark's and the house was full. Mark and Lily sat, cuddled up on one couch, while Titus sat across from them, sipping on a glass of something that smelled like beer. I let myself in and plopped down into a chair, not minding if I was invited or not.
"No news on her yet?" Lily asked immediately her blue eyes fell on me. She had concern written all over her face and the fact that I was still a bit upset with her for keeping away important information from us, did not stop me from replying. "I have not and she would not even reply to any of my messages," I growled.
"Oh," she replied, a dark look fell over her face as her eyes lowered to the ground. "This should be my fault, we wouldn't be having these issues if I had not hid things away from her. She always came to me when she was sad," she complained. I rolled my eyes, a scoffed unintentionally escaping me. Everyone turned to me and I shrugged. "What? Lily deserves all that is coming to her and more, because I do not even think that Chloe has any plans of forgiving her." I looked pointedly at her. "She can never trust you again, do you can forget about that friendship because I think it is long gone and washed away!"
Mark growled at me and I growled back with a greater force. He relax back, giving me a deadly glare. "With all due respect Alpha," he stated, his voice as cold as an iceberg. "You can't completely blame Lily for this, she was put under pressure by everyone! That red head aunty of Chloe you brought her, not excluded!"
"Keep her out of this," Titus snapped, shooting an equally death glare at Mark. "She is trapped in a bed, struggling for her life, keep her out of this!"
"To hell with you and your man whore attitude," Mark snapped back, making a disgusted face at him. "You act all righteous now z that I almost forgot you had drawn a naked picture the Luna! You shameless wolf!"
I growled, my hands clenching into fists, as I tried to get a control on myself. My pupils started to dilating and I couldn't see anything but my rage, as the memories came back all fresh in my head.
"Marcus!" It was Lily's voice. "Get a gripped on yourself! You can't lose it right now, Chloe needs you!" She turned to Titus. "Leave, he is losing his mind!"
I battled with the rage, struggling hard to subdue it and soon, I began to calm down, taking deep breaths and thinking about Chloe. The most important thing was to find her now, I could not waste a moment worrying about stupid Titus. "Make sure he gets a good beating soon," I instructed Mark and he agreed with a nod.
Lily came to squat in front of me, asking sure that I met her eyes. "Marcus, I am so sorry for everything that has happened and as untrue as this sounds, I find it hard to also forgive myself! Please when you see Chloe, help me beg for her forgiveness and let her know that I truly am sorry for everything and got would be highly appreciated, if she found a place in her heart to forgive this stupid friend of hers," her eyes watered, and I had to divert my emotionless one. "You know how strong headed that friend of yours can be, you would just have to take care of that yourself." I said, shari g a look with Mark. "When you see her, go talk to her yourself." My tone was sharp and final, but not harsh, at all! She heaved a sigh, placing her hand on her knees as support to lift herself off the ground. She went backwards, dropping back on the couch into her former position. "I will try, I will keep trying until she forgives me," she said in a sober voice. Mark wrapped his as around her, pulling her closer and dropping a light kiss on her forehead. "It's okay baby," he muttered lowly. "You will be fine, I'm sure Chloe will understand, she is just mad at you right now..." he cooed. Guilt pricked at my conscience and I looked away, not wanting to watch any longer. For the first time, I actually felt jealous of what they both had. I should have treated Chloe that way, pulled her to myself and told her that everything was going to be alright, but I had pushed her away. I'd I were to be honest with myself, I think I had gotten a little jealous of her. The kind of power she commanded had made me feel like less of a man and it scared me that the more powerful she grew, the more power I would lose on her. I fear that she would out power me someday and maybe turn her back on me, but how wrong was I?
I scratched the back of my head, inwardly cursing at my own foolishness. It also did not help that the clueless couple sitting across from me, started kissing on each other. "You have audience please," I snapped, my nose flaring with anger. "Get a room!"
Lily's face coloured in embarrassment, while stupid Mark laughed, like I had just said some pretty good joke. Maybe I was a joke after all!
"We are sorry, we got a little carried away," Lily said, pulling out of Mark's hold. She put some distance between them, to which I was grateful.

Four more hours later, still no wife! I was restless now, and obviously, Mark and Lily also seemed to agree with me, because she had been pacing restlessly, while Mark had been cursing after every two minutes.
I had sent numerous messages upon messages, but no reply came back. I rubbed the left hand side of my chest, feeling that it did not hurt there. If she was in some sort of danger, I would have been notified. But since I was not, that meant that she was okay. It made me feel like a big failure, because I let my wife feel like she could not depend on me, like she was some kind of burden that I could not wait to get rid of.
Lily suddenly stopped, a smile a ghost of a smile sneaking on to her face as her eyes widened. "She just contacted me!" She yelled, bouncing her feet in excitement, but then her excitement vanished and her face paled. "I think she is in trouble!"
I shot up from where I was sitting, moving towards Lily but she backed away.
"She said I should not tell you where she is, she does not trust you enough to save her," Lily quickly explained.
I died that very moment. Dread courses through out my body and settled at my core, threatening to throw me off my feet. "Where is she?" I asked, fighting to control my emotions.
"I cannot tell you that," Lily said. "What have you done?! What is she-"
Just as she was speaking, Titus ran in. "We need to get going guys, I think Chloe is in deep trouble!"
I did not hear the last of what he had to say, I ran out of the house, changing into my black wolf mid air and landed on my fours. My heart constricted painfully in my chest, alerting me of her danger, leading me to her. I looked back when I heard paws hitting the ground behind me, and I saw that Mark and Titus were hot on my heels, following my lead.
Lily was far behind us, as she ran on her feet but just as I was going to turn around, she shifted into a little red fox and my mind relaxed just a tiny bit, it showed that Chloe was still in control of whatever situation there was...
Unlike other days, this time; I got to the parting faster than I had ever been. I shifted, diving into the water and the others did same, with Lily's wolf in Mark's arms. We disappeared under the water fall and as I expected, the door to my cave was left wide open.
"What the hell is this place," Mark asked, as I led them down the long corridor. "You will see," I replied.
The shouts became louder and I got the whiff of the scents as I approached. The closer I got to her, the lesser the pain in my chest. We got into the open and that was when I saw the revolting crowd of over thirty wolves and she-wolves in general.
The crowd quieted their chants of protests, as they felt my presence. Everyone bowed, creating a path for me to walk through and over to the front. My eyes met Chloe's that was peeking through the glass window, and all I saw in her eyes were raw pain of their rejection.
My heart broke and I forced myself to look away, turning to the crowd. "Good wolves of Blackwood," I started in a cold voice, not failing to pass an equally cold look at anyone who met my eyes. "It truly displeases me, that you stomp my property without my permission and attack on my wife, who is supposed to be your Luna..." I paused, daring anyone to argue with me. "You had better have a very good reason for such foolishness, because I have no will in me to forgive any one of you."
A wolf at the front raised his hand. "It came to our notice that an enemy was living amongst us all this time and rumours had it that it was your wife and today, it was confirmed!" He said, meeting my eyes bravely. "We want her out of our lands, or we have no choice but take justice into our hands!"
"Yes!" The crowd chanted in agreement.
"Pray tell," I growled out. "Whatever have you confirmed about my wife?" I still asked, even though I knew exactly what they were talking about.
"She is a vampire!"
Fuck shit!
