Alpha's One Night Bride
Alpha’s One Night Bride – Chapter 101

Jonathan seemed weird when they returned from Silverside. Well actually, he seemed weird after he returned from his night in the town with Boris. But she wasn’t sure if anyone else noticed, so she didn’t bring it up.

Things were finally starting to be good again and she didn’t want to ruin that for anybody. In a couple of weeks, she was going to be celebrating her 17th birthday party. She was excited to be that much closer to adulthood where she can finally marry Erick and have him as her mate. She wanted more than anything to spend the rest of her life with her mate.

Erick kept saying he had a surprise for her on her birthday; she already knew they were going to have a huge party in Ironclaw, but she didn’t’ know what the rest of the surprise was going to be. She had to admit that she was curious and excited all at the same time. She was happy to get together with her friends and family to finally have some fun and have no worries.

Things were finally getting better.

Jonathan and Arina came over; Ronnie and Erick weren’t expecting them, but they were happy to have them there as always.

“I hope you don’t mind, we asked Spencer and Jessica to come too. We took off before them so they should be here soon,” Jonathan said as he entered the house.

He sounded strange; his voice was a bit hallow and it worried Ronnie. Arina came strolling in after him with Emee in her arms.

“What’s going on?” She whispered to Arina.

Arina shrugged.

“I’m not sure; he said he needed to talk to everybody,” Arina answered, keeping her tone just as low.

That didn’t sound good.

Jessica and Spencer got there a little while later; they both looked awkward. Almost like they just got into an argument or something; Jessica’s features were pink around her cheeks and nose and Spencer kept his head down almost sheepishly.

Ronnie couldn’t help but wonder what was going on between them. She only met Spencer a couple of times, but he definitely seemed better than Greggory ever was. He seems to really like Jessica and Jessica seems a bit skeptical about him. Which Ronnie didn’t blame after the whole Greggory thing.

“Now we are just waiting for my mom,” Jonathan said as he sat on the couch.

Ronnie frowned; even Jess was coming? What was going on?

“I didn’t know Jess was coming,” Arina said, sitting beside Jonathan.

She also sounded concerned. She placed Emee on the ground so she could play. She was pulling herself up and taking a few steps on her own now. Everybody was so proud of her and her ability to learn quickly.

“Yeah, I linked her on the way here and asked if she could meet us,” Jonathan explained.

Arina frowned.

“Is everything okay?” Arin asked.

His non-answer worried us all. But before we could ask any more questions, there was a knock on the door. Erick went to open it and greeted Jess politely.

She came into the house and saw us all staring at her; she frowned and then her eyes landed on Jonathan.

“What’s going on?” She asked, nervously.

“I wanted to talk to everybody. I discovered something recently and I can’t keep this from you guys,” he said as he stood up.

He looked over at Ronnie and his eyes went towards Spencer.

“Ronnie and Spencer might need to sit,” he said.

Ronnie’s frown deepened; it had to do with her and Spencer. They both looked at one another confused but neither of them argued. They joined Arina over on the couch and sat down on both sides of her.

“The other day, I didn’t just go out into the town with Boris,” he began. Ronnie could feel the energy in the room thickening as Arina tensed. This must have been the first she was hearing of this as well. “I went to see Rock.”

They all stared at him with open mouths; that was something none of them were expecting to hear. Especially from Jonathan.

“What?” Arina said, hardly audible.

He looked over at her with apologetic eyes.

“I should have told you and I’m sorry that I didn’t,” he said to her.

She swallowed hard.

“What did you go and see him for?” Arina asked; her tone nervous.

“I had to know something…” Jonathan said softly. “I needed to know if he was aware of Melissa not being who she said she was.”

Arina sucked in a deep breath.

“And?” Arina asked.

“He didn’t know she was Willa. But he did know that Ronnie wasn’t their daughter,” Jonathan said, looking over at Ronnie.

Now it was Ronnie’s turn to suck in a deep breath as eyes turned to her. She knew that Melissa wasn’t actually her mother; or that Willa wasn’t actually her mother she should say. She had questions about who her birth mother was, but she never thought she was going to get an answer and decided it was best to not beat a dead horse.

She was going to let it go but allow the question to haunt the back of her mind. Staring at Jonathan, she was quickly realizing that he actually had an answer for her.

Jonathan looked over at Spencer; Ronnie couldn’t help but wonder what Spencer had to do with anything.

“Remember when I saw into your past when we first met?” Jonathan asked. Spencer nodded once; he also seemed confused. “Your birth mom gave you up to that strange couple.”

“Right,” Spencer acknowledged.

“Do you remember anything else about your life with your birth mom?” Jonathan asked.

Spencer thought hard about it and then shook his head.

“Not really…I was really young,” Spencer told him.

“Right, but do you remember any other siblings?” Jonathan asked. “When I saw you and your birth mom, she was holding a small baby in her arms.”

Remembrance flashed through Spencer’s eyes.

“Oh right; I had a little sister. My mom wanted to give us both up, but they only wanted me,” Spencer said.

After a breath of silence, Jonathan spoke again.

“Do you remember what happened to that baby?” Jonathan asked.

Spencer thought long about it; Arina gasped as she realized where Jonathan was going with this. Ronnie was still confused. Soon, realization flashed through Spencer’s eyes. He shot a look at Ronnie and then back at Jonathan.

“You don’t mean…?” Spencer said, his voice trailing off.

Jonathan nodded.

“Yeah…” Jonathan said back.

Spencer looked at Ronnie again.

“What?” Ronnie urged; she was annoyed that everyone around her seemed to be understanding and she still wasn’t. “You’re my sister.”

Ronnie shot to her feet as reality slapped her in the face.

“What?!”

A couple of weeks had gone by since she found out that she was actually related to Spencer. He was her brother; this entire time, she had a brother. Which meant she wasn’t even related to Arina, to begin with.

Her birth mother sold them for drug money; she didn’t care about either of them and because of that they both endured abusive lives. Spencer was worse off than Ronnie, but still. She couldn’t believe she actually had a brother.

For the last couple of weeks, they tried to get to know each other. They spoke a lot about their past and everything they had gone through up until that moment. Spencer had revealed that he knew for certain that Jessica was his mate and that he was in love with her, but because of her trust issues and the fear she’s been through these last few months, she refuses to acknowledge the fact that he’s her mate and chooses to avoid him.

They both sleep in a guest room at Jonathan and Arina’s place, but in separate rooms. They spend some time talking each night, but for the most part, she’s having some trouble adapting to the new changes. Ronnie couldn’t help but feel sad for him knowing he must be so upset with the fact that Jessica, his mate, won’t acknowledge him.

Today was the day that Ronnie was finally turning 17 years old, and she was excited to have her brother there with her while she celebrated. There was nothing she wanted more than to have her friends and family close by as she reaches a new milestone in her life.

The entire pack of Ironclaw and Sabrebite were there to celebrate Ronnie. Erick had set everything up in the center of town and everything was perfect.

As the night went on, everybody was dancing and laughing in the streets. At that moment, life was good.

Erick pulled her aside to tell her how beautiful she was and how much he loved her, saying that he wanted to give her the surprise he had for her.

She was excited to see what it was.

“Ronnie,” he said to her, pulling her closer to the bonfire in the center of town; she could feel the warmth of the fire dancing off her features. “I love you, so much,” he breathed to her as their lips touched. “I want nothing more than to be with you for the rest of my life. I want you to rule this pack with me; be by my side, regardless of anything in our way.”

She chuckled up at him.

“Well, of course,” she said to him. “I basically grew up here. It’s my pack too,” she told him, pressing her lips against his again.

He breathed her in, smiling within the k**s.

“Exactly why I wanted to give you this,” he said.

He held out a small box; her eyes widened as he placed the box in the palm of her hand. She opened the box and gasped at the beautiful diamond ring with light green gems surrounding the golden band. She looked up at him, tears in her eyes as she stared at the man she loved.

“Erick…” she whispered.

“I want us to spend the rest of eternity together. I know you are only 17 and still won’t be a full adult until next year. But I can’t wait any longer,” he said, keeping his tone low for just the two of them. “Ronnie, will you marry me?”

She didn’t have to think about it long; she sprang up on her tiptoes and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him in for another k**s.

“Yes,” she breathed against his lips. “I’ll marry you.”
