Alpha’s Slave Luna
Chapter 108

Otis's

POV:

"I can't believe we've had so many infections within our clan already, I'm to blame for not thinking of this in the first place."

"No, it's not your responsibility, the only way we can do that now is to trust our people."

Conrad's gentle and magnetic voice rang in my ears as I leaned close to his body in a chair in the hospital lounge area.

"Otis, I'm sure the attending doctor she can do it, she has saved countless clansmen since the establishment of our pack, even many times I was seriously injured and was only able to fully recover because of her."

As he said this, he glanced out the window at the dark night sky.

"Inside the darkness of the night we must not despair, for we will never know at what moment the dawn will fall."

"Conrad......"

Suddenly his hand stroked my hair and I felt him hug me tighter, I breathed in his enchanting scent and felt no chill in this hospital shrouded by the cold, dark night.

In the distance, the doors of the laboratory stood firm inside the hospital, the heart beating in anticipation of the dawn, the attending doctor was inside the laboratory analysing the herbs, and perhaps somehow I would be able to see him open the door. She would be fine.

I prayed inwardly as the moonlight shifted direction outside the window, and among the dark clouds there were occasional twinkling stars, like eyes in the sky, looking down curiously at those who had not yet fallen asleep.

The night was cold, but warm, dark, but full of light.

The warmth enveloped me and I listened to the sound of his powerful heartbeat, calm and unruffled, as if it possessed infinite power, and I sank uncontrollably into it, rubbing my face against his inches of shirt as I clutched my hands to his broad arms, the comfort of which made me unable to control my sleepiness.

Such a sensation almost filled my brain, perhaps because I hadn't slept for days, and the moment this feeling appeared I lost my consciousness.

I don't know how long it took until the sound of metal scraping against the stone floor came to my ears, and I suddenly opened my eyes at that moment.

For I saw the frail, but excited and almost frantic man behind the laboratory door.

"That's it, that's it, I know how to make an antidote that works almost as well!"

The attending doctor shouted excitedly as she frantically tried to get the metal door open, but she was so weak now that the door, made of metal, made her push very slowly, the door sliding across the floor as if it were a slow walking turtle, until a hand reached behind it.

"Attending doctor, you move gently, let me do this sort of thing."

With Jack's voice ringing from behind, the attending doctor quickly stepped out from inside the gap in the door, not returning Jack's words, but looking anxiously in all directions until her eyes met mine. "Otis!"

Suddenly she exclaimed, and then stumbled towards me.

"Doctor-in-charge, you made it!"

I looked at her excited look and the same excitement welled up inside me, then I got up from my seat and ran towards her, this light in my heart dispelling all the darkness I was feeling.

"Otis, I've parsed out the ingredients of the antidote and I can create one that works about as well, but there's a special plant that we don't have in the wolves or nearby!"

"A special plant?"

My heart skipped a beat at the sound of her voice, and then my face turned serious as I grabbed her weak and much-lost moisture hand.

"Just like last time, I will use all my strength to find whatever plant it is."

"Otis, I believe in you."

The attending doctor paused here, her pupils tilted to the upper left, as if she was engaged in some memory.

"It was a magical plant that only grows in colder regions, it had the appearance of a small white flower with five petals that looked like it danced whenever a cold wind blew through it, the plant in the car was known in the records as a snow elf." She said as she turned her head to the side window.

"From our wolves keep heading north-west and stop when you see a small amount of snow appear at the top of the hill, this flower grows where the snow meets the grass."

"From here, all the way to the top of the mountain where the snow appears? This distance......"

My face changed a little when I heard this, our forest was one of the more moderate temperatures and I was afraid that the distance would not be short if we were to come across those mountains that possessed snow.

This kind of distance if it was an ordinary werewolf, I'm afraid it would take at least a week for a round trip.

Even at my speed, it would still take more than two days.

With such a long time, and with the plague being so severe, I wonder how many more clansmen would have lost their lives.

"Otis, I know your fears."

"Attending doctor, you move gently, let me do this sort of thing."

Suddenly the attending doctor's voice rang out again, and she looked at me with confidence.

"We now have a sample of the antidote, I have diluted it and then added some other herbs, it will completely alleviate the plague and sustain you until the moment you return!" Here she paused, then handed me a bag made of leather.

"As for the dosage, according to my calculations, you only need to collect two hundred plants, each petal of the snow elf possesses a strong medicinal effect!"

With the attending doctor's voice, I felt a warmth coming from my back, while an enchanting aroma entered my nostrils along my neck.

"Just leave the Blue-moon Pack to me, I'll take care of the wolves now, but if we're going to set off, I think you can sleep until morning."

Conrad held me tightly in his broad frame while I felt a wetness and softness come to my cheek as he kissed me earnestly.

"The wolves can't afford to wait too much now, and I've just been asleep for a while."

I turned and kissed his cheek in the same way, then I looked at him again fondly, letting his sky-blue and gentle gaze shine into my heart.

I really, really wanted to stay by his side, but I had to control myself now.

"I'm leaving, wait for me to come back."

After saying that I broke away from his embrace with all my strength and turned my body towards the outside of the hospital.

The darkness outside the window awaited me, and I must now enter the lonely journey to find the life of the dawn.

I did not look back, I was afraid that looking at Conrad one more time would increase my thoughts.

The cold wind was blowing continuously, as if it were the spirit that dominates the night and who always goes to torment those who are alone whenever darkness falls.

I walked quickly out of the hospital and by the time I arrived downstairs, I had transformed into a wolf once again.

A silvery white light appeared on my body and I felt warmth from those white hides as the power of the moon god flowed inside my body.

"I will find it."

I murmured in a small, determined voice as I glanced once more at the darkened rooms inside those buildings where my people were being held captive in the prison of the plague. I had to be on my way.

With that thought I turned no further back and plunged into the giant mouth of the night against the cold wind ahead.
