Alpha’s Slave Luna -
Chapter 109
Conrad's
POV:
The moon gods had blessed her, and Otis would return safely with the plant the attending doctor had spoken of.
I prayed in my heart as I watched Otis go from the hospital with the lights on into the darkness of the dark night.
I wanted to go with her, but for once I couldn't leave the pack, the plague was now so bad that I had to stay and plan for the whole pack situation.
I watched her back grow blurry until the blackness of the night swallowed her up completely, when suddenly the voice of the attending doctor rang in my ears. "Alpha Conrad, it won't take long to create relief through these antidotes, but a large portion of our pack is already infected and I'm afraid our staff strength ...... Her voice held some anxiety and I turned my head at this point.
"How many people are not infected now."
"I'm afraid there are less than three hundred of all the remaining personnel who are able to work plus the fighters and the top brass."
"Is that all there is?"
As I listened to the attending doctor, it was as if my heart was being squeezed by a hand. Although many people had joined the work, even my Beta Marsh was helping, I was afraid that the work force of only three hundred people was already very difficult to bear just to bring food to those infected.
I thought for a moment, then suddenly looked up.
"You call up all the personnel who can move around, as well as have the nurses prepare all the clothing that currently protects the warehouse from infection, and proceed to the Blue-moon Pack's gate."
"To the gates of the Blue-moon Pack, and with all the people with you?"
The attending doctor's face was filled with surprise, he didn't seem to understand the intent within, but she didn't continue to ask.
"Alpha Conrad, I'll go as fast as I can muster."
I watched her get underway and I headed outside.
For by my estimation, the warriors who were once the Dusk Pack were now close to arriving as well.
Their speed may seem slow compared to Otis and I, but they were actually trained warriors and would have no problem trying to cross the forest in half a night's time.
As the shadows beneath my feet merged with the blackness, I stepped into the night.
The light and sounds of the hospital behind me faded away and my surroundings became quieter and quieter, as if I were entering another world.
My footsteps and the beating of my heart spoke of voices, and I looked at the wolves that seemed like a ghost town, my insides aching all the time.
Give me a little more time, just hold on a little longer, people, and I will be able to return you to a healthy life.
This firm belief seemed to be engraved in my mind and soon I too arrived at the gates of the Blue-moon Pack.
The night insects were chirping from ahead, mixed with the rattling of the leaves, the song of the forest at night as it lured the whole forest into a deep sleep.
I was surprised to find at this time that even the forest was more lively than the wolves were now.
I looked at the endless blackness, and my pupils dilated at this moment.
The seal on my forehead seemed to be emitting a sky-blue glow, the power of the wolf pearl had long since fused with me, and now even if I didn't transform into a wolf, I could still use that very powerful perception ability.
The sound of which insects screeching and leaves gently trembling became louder as my perception flew like a wave and soon had enveloped hundreds of miles and I raised my eyebrows at that moment.
I spotted the movement of the warriors, they were running fast in the direction of the Blue-moon Pack and would probably be able to reach it in a few minutes.
The number of these warriors was already over two hundred, and every one of them was full of energy, and with their help, they could completely alleviate the shortage of Blue-moon Pack personnel.
I stood quietly looking out at the blackness behind the dense forest, the dull moonlight not allowing for much light, but I could see every detail clearly.
The powerful perception almost gave me night vision, he allowed me to feel the darkness better but also to see it.
"Alpha Conrad, the suits to prevent infection are ready and everyone else has arrived."
The unchanging night clouded my perception of time for perhaps two or three minutes when I heard footsteps and jack's voices from behind me, they seemed to be talking curiously.
I didn't turn around immediately, but continued to look ahead at the forest.
"Soon we will have new helpers for our wolves, nurses with protective suits, you instruct them to put these on."
"New helpers? Aren't all our clan members in the wolves?"
Marsh made a puzzled sound as he stepped out from inside the crowd, but I didn't explain it to him right away.
Seeing that I didn't say anything, everyone fell silent as well, and they looked curiously ahead into the forest as we waited in silence until the rattling of leaves came from the distance. Black shadows appeared behind the leaves of the woods, and as the sound became louder, a pair of eyes refracted with light appeared behind the leaves.
The dark clouds in the night sky suddenly dispersed a little at this time, and the moonlight that had been obscured shone back on the earth, and the figures became clear.
They had sharp teeth and pelts of different colours covered their bodies, but most were brownish, a clear difference compared to the warriors of the Blue-moon Pack area. "It's a Dusk Pack warrior!"
Someone in the crowd suddenly exclaimed, followed by a rapid change in everyone's face.
"How could Dusk Pack warriors come to our wolves at this time of day, crap, doctors and nurses all fall back, all warriors get ready, enemy invasion!"
Marsh was the first to transform into a wolf and stepped in front of everyone.
"Damn, most of the clan is infected with the plague, how are we going to deal with these enemies!"
"They all seem to be normal warriors, Alpha Conrad, and Marsh are here, don't be afraid everyone!"
Their panicked voices came from behind me, which didn't surprise me, after all, no one wouldn't be nervous about the sudden appearance of Dusk Pack warriors.
I aggravated my voice in the moment.
"Silence, now they are no longer Dusk Pack warriors, they will be following me, they are the newest members of the Blue-moon Pack."
Just as my voice faded, the Dusk Pack warriors all transformed into men and the next moment dropped neatly to one knee on the ground.
"Great King of the Werewolves, a total of two hundred and thirty-two have all arrived, please give your orders."
The sight before them seemed to surprise everyone as they looked at each other, all unable to utter a single word, as if they could not believe what they were seeing before them.
"I will take my time to explain the exact reason to all of you, you will change the clothes for these new warriors, they will be the force to ease the pressure on our wolves." "These clothes are......"
A suddenly quizzical voice came from the front and I glanced at the leader of the once Dusk Pack's warrior squad.
"These clothes will prevent the infection of the plague, and you will be the force at work for the rest of the day, delivering a relieving antidote to the clan of the Blue-moon Pack." The atmosphere was suddenly quiet until the warrior's captain spoke in a very small voice.
"King Wolf, will all those infected by the plague be given the antidote?"
"Of course, I will not abandon any of the wolves of the pack, and now that you have joined my pack you will be given the same shelter, you are all my future people."
I looked at him seriously and solemnly, then I saw some wetness appear inside his eyes, while such emotions quickly infected all the warriors.
"The antidote, the king of the werewolves can really save all the werewolves"
"F*ck, damn Herder, he killed all the infected clansmen, all my loved ones, he's a murderer!"
"I know now that Conrad the Wolf King is the one who can really save all the werewolves, I will follow him forever, I will watch him kill Herder!"
Their excited voices brought some life to the quiet Blue-moon Pack, as if a stone had suddenly been thrown into a calm river.
I turned my head at this moment to look at the Blue-moon Pack and I saw that everyone was looking at this in shock, they seemed to be completely confused as to what was happening.
Almost all of the uninfected people of the Blue-moon Pack were now gathered here, doctors, nurses, warriors, high ranking officers, maids, all professions were gathered here, even some of the older wolves who had not contracted the plague to help. I knew this was a chance, a chance for the clan to take in the new wolves.
"As you can see, these warriors will be the first new additions to our wolf pack, and definitely not the last."
I looked at everyone solemnly, sweeping over each of their eyes.
Power flowed inside my body and suddenly the wolf beads on my forehead emitted a sky blue glow, the darkness around me was quickly dispersed until a crown of crystal formed above my head.
The light surrounded my body, and the moment its weight first appeared above my head I understood that my goal was no longer simply revenge.
I would use the power I had now gained to rule over all wolves, to save all wolves from the extinction of their packs and from the hardships of surviving in war.
All eyes gathered on me and I looked at them with an unquestionable tone.
"As you can see, I will rule over all the wolves, I will be king over all the werewolves and establish a unified kingdom."
