Otis's POV

"Are you an i***t? How can you medicate me while standing there?"

I don't know why, but at this point, I felt as if his voice wasn't as fierce as before.

He was pressed against me, and we were so close that my breasts were pressed against him. The reassuring warmth spread from his skin to mine, my heartbeat instantly became much faster and I felt my cheeks gradually become hot.

I propped one arm on his shoulder, holding my upper body away from him, and then took a cotton swab in the other arm to gently apply the ointment to him.

Conrad's face was on my side and his breathing seemed to become labored, his ragged breathing easily reaching my ears. The hot air from his breath blew on my ears. I blushed and my heart beat faster. His scent became more intense and made me dizzy. Why did I become like this? Why does he fascinate me so much? Is this the attraction that belongs to a man?

I quickly applied the ointment all over his wound while I was thinking nonsense, and by the time I finally put a piece of gauze on him, his voice rang in my ears.

"As my maid, you can only care for me, not any other man."

I froze for a moment when I heard his words. I looked at him and his expression was calm as he looked at me. Those deep blue eyes were charming.

Was it because my concern for Marsh made him misunderstand? Maybe he wasn't so disgusted with me after all?

I explained to him, "Marsh is my friend. He helped me a lot in training, and I was only concerned about him as a friend. I have no intention of trying to seduce him."

I thought my explanation would clear the air between us. But I didn't expect Conrad's face to suddenly change. He cupped my chin directly with one hand, and his dark blue eyes were filled with ferocity inside, like an ocean about to have a tsunami. "I have eyes. I can see! No need for you to question my judgment!"

His fingers squeezed my chin so hard that I felt the pain coming from there, a sudden pain that left me confused and aggravated.

I had explained to him in earnest! Why didn't he believe me?

Once again, I remembered the scene where he humiliated me in front of everyone, and my vision was gradually blurred by tears. Finally, I heard him say to me.

"Get out!"

After I came out of Conrad's room, I couldn't control my low mood. Every word he said was like a heavy stone mill crushing my heart. I was training hard! But why was he so unreasonable?

Then I remembered that he was angry with me for caring about Marsh and not about him, and the low mood seemed to disappear a bit.

I was on a roller coaster of emotions, and my mind was full of confusion like a tangled mess of wool.

Maybe I should take a break and forget about it.

I took a deep breath and tried to stop thinking about these things and went to my room and fell into a deep sleep.

The next day came quickly.

After a night's rest, I felt much better and calmed down, but Conrad's shadow still appeared in my mind from time to time.

I couldn't think like this anymore, I had to put all my heart into training! As long as I'm in training, maybe I won't have to think about these things.

After preparing Conrad's morning coffee and breakfast, I went straight to the training ground.

The atmosphere in the training ground today was a little different from before. The wolves in our group seemed to be unusually excited as if we were about to have something interesting. What's going on here? Is there any activity today?

I slowly approached them, and their conversation reached my ears.

"Today is the day of field training! Do you guys know what this training will be about?"

"Whatever training is going to take place must be better than training here! It's more fun to run in the forest than in the training ground!"

I probably understood what was going on. Training inside the forest was indeed a pleasant thing to do. I also started to become looking forward to this unique training, and almost didn't want to wait any longer. Marsh came in front of everyone.

"The main skills we are training in this field are exploration, hiding, and scrambling. I have hidden ten badges inside the forest and have left many clues and traces along the way. You need to follow the clues to find those badges." Speaking here, Marsh's face showed a stern expression.

"The person who finds the most badges will be the champion of today's training. He will receive a badge as a reward for the glory of this training. Remember! During this training, fights between pack members are allowed!"

Marsh placed a badge in front of everyone's eyes and told us to take turns looking at it. We needed to remember what the badge smelled and looked like in a short time.

"Okay, now you guys are ready to go! I will keep checking on you along the way to get an idea of your various physical qualities and abilities."

After the rules were announced, Marsh took the lead and entered the forest. He was very fast and disappeared from our sight in no time.

We followed him into the forest. I felt that we would probably spend the whole day inside the forest today.

After entering the forest, some of the wolves directly began to search around for badges, while some stayed in place and thought.

I didn't think too much and breathed in the air of the forest. The fragrance of the earth and the smell of the forest in the morning came into my chest. The smell of the forest in the morning seemed fresher and I felt like I was rejuvenated.

I didn't search for my training badge right away, because it seemed to me that the first step was to familiarize myself with the smell of the forest.

Suddenly a breeze blew by and my nasal cavity seemed to search for some strange and faint smell, which was very similar to the smell on those badges.

My heart appeared with some joy. Without hesitation, I quickly moved in the direction where the scent came from. Then I found a silver strip of cloth in the bushes. This strip of cloth seemed to be used to bind the badge, and I was able to smell a familiar scent on Just then, my ears twitched. There was a sound coming from above me!

I quickly backed up and looked up above me.

"I didn't think you'd find the first clue so quickly. You're very good, I would have thought it would take a little longer for someone to find this clue."

On the tree branch above my head stood a strong man who looked at me in surprise.

"Just now I just accidentally touched a leaf. I didn't expect you to have such acute senses. You have great hearing."

"I will try to find more badges."

I answered him seriously. The man was none other than Marsh who had followed to check our status, and I didn't expect him to be hiding here.

"Well, Otis, I look forward to your final score."

He smiled brightly at me and quickly got out of the way.

I returned to the spot where I found the cloth and continued to explore carefully.

I could smell the subtle traces of boot scent on the ground next to the bush. No doubt. This must be the clue.

Following these traces, I was eventually surprised to find the first badge inside a hole in a tree.

I found a badge! When Marsh introduced the rules, he told us that the number of badges was only ten. This number was not equal to the number of participants in the training, and there were far more of us than there were badges. Since I've already earned one, my score must not be the worst! That's great!

My heart was filled with confidence as I began to search for a second badge.

Time was slowly passing, and it was almost afternoon.

By this time I already had three badges in my hands. Feeling the heavyweight, the sense of accomplishment spread through my brain.

Even after a long time of searching, I still didn't have much fatigue. I can feel that my physical quality has improved very much compared to before, which is the result of my harsh training in the training ground these days. Suddenly my ears twitched.

I heard some subtle sounds, and immediately after that I immediately retreated to the back. Almost at the same time, two young werewolves jumped out of the bushes next to where I was just standing.

"Otis! You can't get away! Give us the badge now!"

Looking at these two young werewolves, I knew that I was no match for them.

Despite some improvements in my physical fitness, there was still a gap between me and them, male werewolves who had undergone a long time of training, and there were two of them!

Without talking much to them, I turned around and ran towards the inside of the forest.
