Alpha’s Slave Luna -
Chapter 90
Otis's POV:
"Soon we will arrive, we are a long way from the forest, you should be very tired, I will have you entertained with clean water."
"Thank you very much, but I hope to see your Alpha soon."
The lead werewolf said as he led us through the strange buildings, and Conrad answered him warily, while his warm hand clutched me, dispelling some of the unease in my mind. "You say you have come for help because of the plague, what kind of plague is it?"
"Characters with the plague experience symptoms such as coma, coldness and dehydration, and we have been given certain revelations to come here."
"The breath of God!"
Listening to Conrad's words, the lead werewolf suddenly let out a cry of surprise, and then he actually began to mutter to himself.
"Strange, the breath of God should only be found inside our wolves, why would the breath of our God spread so far away."
"The breath of the gods, you say the plague is the breath of the gods? What is this all about?"
The werewolf was silent for a couple of seconds, then a smile took over his face.
"I don't know much about it, I am only in charge of guarding the totem, but I will report it to the Alpha, and our great Alpha should know the answer."
The werewolf spoke calmly, his tone had completely lost its ferocity, as if he was entertaining a familiar friend, but every now and then his gaze would flicker to me, and it made me feel uncomfortable.
Was there something special about me and what on earth had changed this werewolf's attitude for.
The eerie feeling made my body tense up and I followed silently without speaking, while observing my surroundings.
Apart from the werewolves with their strange designs, there was also something strange about their buildings, although they had some modern facilities inside, the surfaces of their buildings were carved with strange drawings.
The drawings were curved, with werewolves, moons and huge pyramids, and although it was possible to make out what the designs were, each one was very distorted, like an abstract painting.
Even more bizarre are the totem poles that often appear on the road.
There were totem poles at regular intervals, in different colours, each with curved lines carved into them, lines that resembled those carved into the bodies of the werewolves, and when I looked at them, I always felt as if they had come to life.
This feeling made me very uneasy, and the power of the Moon God bloodline flowed uncontrollably and violently inside my body, while Eda kept speaking in my mind.
"Otis, this place always gives me an eerie feeling, I feel very uncomfortable, I think we should leave here as soon as possible."
"Can you sense why?"
"I'm not sure exactly why, but I always feel as if these lines will swallow me up, as if they will absorb my power."
I pondered Eda's words while I noticed a very strange picture in this moment.
On the pattern of the building next to me, a woman in a black robe was painted on the top of the pyramid, while in the sky beyond it, a woman with a divine aura was painted, with that same pattern of lines around her, as if to indicate that she was emanating light All these pictures together seemed to tell a story, but I had no way of navigating through all their architecture to analyse what the story was about.
Just as I was thinking about it, Conrad ahead of me stopped in his tracks, while the werewolf's voice sounded again.
"You guys rest here for now, the Alpha will be here soon."
Having said that, the werewolf turned in the direction of the pyramid, while some werewolves who seemed to be servants gestured for us to enter the somewhat more massive building in front of us.
By the time we were seated on the couches inside, the servants brought some clean water, and looking at it, I couldn't help but start swallowing.
It would be a lie to say that we didn't feel thirsty after a day and a night of advancing in the heat and cold.
"Otis, drink up, this water shouldn't be dangerous, I'm afraid they would have d one it at the gate if they wanted to, instead of waiting until now to use this tactic."
Conrad's calm voice reached my ears and after he finished he drank the glass of water in front of him in one gulp, although he looked equally tired, there was no hint of panic on his face.
Yes, I should trust my partner, I would not be upset with him by my side.
With that in mind, I took a big breath and, after finishing my glass of water, leaned back on the sofa behind me.
Taking the time to wait, it was the first time I had rested in two days. The soft sofa seemed to swallow my consciousness, and if I would normally have fallen asleep in this instant, but I knew this was not the time to sleep.
The sun kept shining outside the window, and every now and then some passing werewolf glanced through it towards us, until suddenly the surroundings became quiet and a feeling of danger appeared in my mind. What was going on, why was this feeling appearing.
Before I could continue to think about it, there were heavy footsteps outside the door.
The footsteps were not quick, but each step on the ground made a dull sound, and the mere footsteps made one feel that this person might possess terrifying power.
Suddenly the door was thrown open and the blinding sunlight outside was suddenly blocked by a huge shadow, and because of the poor lighting I did not even see his face in the backlight at first, only his long, crimson hair that looked like a sticky clot of blood. What a strong, tall werewolf, the top of his head was almost against the door and he was over seven feet tall, even taller than Conrad!
I was stunned by the strength of this werewolf the moment he appeared, and I sat up from the couch alertly, my eyes focused on him.
A sense of danger emanated from this very werewolf!
"Are you the guests, sorry to keep you waiting."
This werewolf said as he walked in, the sunlight behind him being unblocked and unclouded, the light shone on his body and his form was clearly revealed.
A brown bearskin coat was draped over him, the gaps between the skin on his upper body were covered in silver veins, his body seemed to be an inverted triangle full of power, but what I couldn't believe more was his appearance.
This guy's face actually looked seven times like the face of the mysterious werewolf from Dusk Pack, almost like it was sculpted by the same person! Conrad's POV:
"Are you the Alpha of the Totem Pack?"
The moment this werewolf appeared, my muscles began to tighten uncontrollably, the power of the wolf beads flowed towards and inside my body, and I even almost transformed into a wolf!
This guy was terrifying and very dangerous!
Moreover, his costume and face resembled that werewolf from Dusk Pack, and he was even taller than that mysterious werewolf... Could it be that the werewolf from Dusk Pack who suddenly appeared was from Totem Pack?
I watched his every movement warily, and his next words seemed to confirm my suspicions.
"I heard about your affair, the breath of the gods spreading to the forest?"
He said as he sat down naturally on the couch opposite.
"It must have been my stupid brother who did this, even if he ran away from the wolves without my discipline, he actually let the breath of the gods leak out, I will make sure he is punished!"
"Your brother? Is his name Herder?"
"Indeed it is he, his name is indeed Herder, and I am his real brother Kazan!"
I had some shock watching his expression, and he had some anger on his face at this moment, and when he was angry, terror came out at this moment!
I suddenly had a hunch in my mind at this moment that this werewolf in front of me was even stronger than that mysterious werewolf from the Dusk Pack back then!
This guy was so strong that he didn't even look like a normal werewolf, I couldn't even imagine what this guy had used to build up such strength, I was afraid that even if I used the strength of the wolf beads, I wouldn't necessarily be a match for him! If it's not necessary, I'm going to try to minimise conflict with him and use gentle means to get a solution to the plague.
"Alpha Kazan, we have come here to seek a solution to the plague..... oh no, the breath of the gods, which has plagued many of us in the wolf pack."
I tried to talk to him with sincerity, but I didn't expect his gaze to actually sweep to Otis next to me.
"There is no problem in trying to fix it, just the holy spring water of our Totem Pack, but this woman next to you, I believe, is of Lunar descent."
His gaze seemed to glint, his eyes dead on Otis and scowling unabashedly, and anger appeared in my heart at that moment.
"A descendant of the Moon God, my God, she hides the purest power, almost like the legendary Moon God, I would love to study her blood!" "You don't want to do that!"
Looking into his eyes, I instantly stepped in front of Otis.
This guy was actually moving against my mate, no matter how much power he possessed, and I would never allow it!
He seemed to frown at the sight of my actions, then he returned his gaze to mine and the smile in his eyes disappeared.
"All of our Totem Pack's powers are imitated by the Moon God, our totems are sacred and noble, and you are just a lowly werewolf without any noble bloodline!"
"A lowly werewolf?"
As I listened to his words, my heart lit up with anger, the power of the wolf beads flowing within my body, ready for battle.
"If it wasn't for this lady, I wouldn't have let you into the wolves at all."
This time he looked at me icily, and the murderous aura in his body grew heavier.
"You can have the spring if you want, but I can only give it to this lady with the noble bloodline, and you are just a lowly werewolf, you don't deserve to witness this, get out of my pack!"
