Conrad's

POV:

"It's good to realise your inferiority sooner rather than later, to save me the effort of throwing you out."

A mocking voice appeared behind me, anger burning inside my chest, but I silenced him with a myriad of strength.

Otis was right, Kazan didn't just have great power, this was Totem Pack territory.

With just the two of us, it would be difficult to even escape, let alone defeat them.

Otis has great speed and evasion, she may be able to escape, but I won't be able to, and if I can't escape, Otis will surely come to my rescue, and most likely we will both die here! "Totem Pack!"

I mumbled the name of their pack in my mind as I stepped heavily out of the doorway.

"You follow me, guest."

A cold voice came from beside me and I saw that the lead werewolf, who had been guarding the doorway before, had stood outside the room at some point. Although he called out that I was a guest, he was now looking at me with no respect whatsoever.

Without confronting him, I followed behind him in silence and headed outside along the road that brought me here.

As I walked, I took note of everything on the road, knowing the surrounding terrain would help me effectively if I spotted any movement inside the wolves and Otis was in danger.

The heat above enveloped me, still surrounded by the curious inhabitants of Totem Pack, and the distance seemed so long that I felt as if I had walked a long time to get to the outside of Totem Pack. The yellow desert without borders once again appeared before me and I took two steps forward and then stood in silence outside the Totem Pack's door.

I would wait here for Otis to obtain the antidote.

Suddenly some small sounds reached my ears, the Totem Pack guards were whispering, and through my powerful senses I could tell what they were saying. "How dare that low-blooded werewolf offend the Alpha, if it weren't for that young lady, I'm afraid the Alpha would have already moved in and killed him." "Don't talk so loud, that guy hasn't left yet, if that lowly fellow hears......"

"What are you worried about, so what if he hears you, will that lowlife dare to do anything to us Totem Pack?"

"That too."

I cringed at the voices.

I never thought I would ever be called lowly, and the high pride inside my body filled me with rage, but I silenced him with all my might.

Otis, the survival of the pack is in your hands, I am sure you will be able to obtain the antidote to the plague of wolves.

I prayed silently in my mind as the sun burned on my body, the heat gradually causing some sweat to appear.

I did not have the robes of the guards to shield me from the sun, nor the eaves of the walls above their heads to shield them from the sun, so I had to use my strength to withstand the heat. The sun overhead glowed at all hours and I looked down at the shadows around my feet, waiting for them to grow longer beneath me.

Time passed slowly, and when the shadow beneath me had grown much taller, I suddenly raised my head.

A violent sense of crisis appeared in my heart, a sense that instantly made the sweat on my skin stand up.

It was a feeling of crisis I had never felt before, as if a knife had appeared above my head, and my muscles tensed up at that moment.

"Conrad, I sense a bad feeling, you need to get out of here or something bad is likely to happen!"

Carl's voice growled inside me, and it wasn't just me, my wolf felt it too, it was a very obvious instinct.

"No, I can't leave here, I have to wait for Otis."

I said with a stony face, while watching my surroundings warily.

And in that moment, I also spotted the movement that appeared at the Totem Pack gates.

One by one, the guards stepped aside towards the perimeter, and a tall figure grew clear inside the shadows.

"How dare a lowly werewolf like you spy on a noble lady like Otis."

The icy voice almost made me change into a wolf for a moment, my gaze dead ahead and that one pressure becoming more and more apparent.

"And the offense you just gave me, I'll make you pay for those."

Otis's POV:

The sun was shining overhead as I sat on my knees in the centre of the totem.

There was apparently no shade in the centre enclosed by this totem, but the temperature was not terribly unacceptable, as if some force was holding back the rise in temperature.

I held the kettle tightly in my hand, while using my senses to observe my surroundings.

I looked up at the top of the pyramid and suddenly remembered the woman standing at the top of the pyramid depicted on the image.

Could this be the pyramid on the design?

Surprise struck me, and I continued to feel everything around me.

The pattern on the ground, the totems around it, and the stone monuments in the area.

Suddenly my pupils contracted and I saw what appeared to be letters on the monument in front of me.

The letters looked very old and could barely be seen clearly, but a power came from within my bloodline at this time and my head became clear, and somehow I was able to read what was written in those letters.

"The Great Witch has recorded the power of the Moon God inside the totem, those who have the totem pattern engraved on them will gain some of the power of the Moon God, if they can find the true Moon God bloodline and absorb this power through the totem, it will enable those who have the totem pattern to gain the full power of the Moon God."

This was what was written on this one stone tablet.

My heart was suddenly filled with astonishment and fear when I saw this, and I remembered those tattoos on each of the Totem Pack, and how each of these werewolves was stronger than an ordinary werewolf.

Was this the reason for the Totem Pack's power, was this why Kazan had such great power? Did he value me so much because he wanted to absorb my bloodline?

I looked at the twisted letters on the tablet, and I was afraid Kazan would never think that I would be able to read them.

Suddenly my heart skipped a beat and I covered my heart with my hand, as if there was a vague pain there.

I looked around at the totems, the twisted patterns that seemed to be able to devour my blood, and I finally understood why I had a bad feeling when I saw them.

I couldn't stay here forever, I had to find a way to escape from here!

Kazan said he would invite me to dine with him when the moon appeared, and with only the guards around now, this was my only chance to escape!

I raised my senses to the maximum and the movements around me came into my mind clearly.

Perhaps it was my act of kneeling here for a long time that made the guards let down their guard, the number of guards here was obviously reduced a bit, and even their eyes were rarely focused on me.

My eyes looked at the nearest bush, and although there were plenty of Totem Pack men in the building area, it wasn't just that the trees were thick enough to hide me easily in this totem-filled area, but there were very few of them too!

The moment I felt the eyes of all the guards straying from me, I didn't hesitate to transform into a wolf and dash into the bushes!

Countless branches were scraping against my body, the leaves were shaking gently, and it wasn't even ten seconds after I charged in that the guards noticed something was wrong in the totem area!

"The woman is gone, what's going on!"

"There seems to be movement in the bushes to the east, it must be the woman, come with me and catch him!"

"Alpha Kazan specifically told us to keep an eye on the woman, if he escapes, we could all be doomed!"

"Damn it, this is our Totem Pack's place, how dare she just run away!"

Frantic shouts came from behind me and I pressed my form down to weave quickly inside the trees, the wind blowing in front of me slapping me wildly as the sounds behind me became fainter and fainter. These guards couldn't catch me!

I watched intently as I ran through the trees around the edge of the Totem Pack towards the gate, knowing that I had lost the guards, but a sense of crisis was tingling in my nerves.

What the hell was going on, I had escaped.

The unpleasant smell of the bushes continued to surround me, and the Totem Pack's grounds were so large that I had to run a long distance around the edge to reach the gate, but at my speed it wasn't far. Not much time had passed before I was halfway around the area, the trees were thinning out ahead of me and I could see clearly through the gaps inside the trees in the direction of the gate. But I was startled at this point, my pupils contracting sharply at this moment.

Conrad had said he would be waiting for me at the gate, but I couldn't see him now!
