An Affair With My Ex -
Chapter 90
Alex's POV.
After spending nearly a week at the hospital, Abby and I were finally back home with all of her belongings.
As I gripped tightly onto the handle of her wheelchair, I stood right behind her while she relaxed on the chair.
Since she wasn't able to walk, I had to take charge and assist her with everything, making sure she remained calm and focused on healing.
Abby looked around the building of my house and said, "It's been a while since I came here!" I could feel her hand touch mine that was behind her, and I looked down to see her face turned towards me with the brightest smile. However, despite the smile, I knew that she still wasn't completely okay.
I responded, "Yeah, it's been a long time. But don't worry, we're home now, and everything is going to be okay."
I knew that being back home was where she belonged, and I couldn't wait for her to experience all the comforts of home once again.
"I'm sure the house will be glad to have you in it once again. Not as a girlfriend or fiance but as my wife and the mother of my child!" I exclaimed with a wide grin on my face.
I knew that this was the perfect moment to remind her of our future together, and it was something that always made her smile.
"Thank you for always being by my side, Alex... I..." she started to say, but I interrupted her.
"No, Abby, thank you for being strong until the end, for surviving until this point. I owe you one, my love!" I leaned forward, planting a kiss on her lips and then on her forehead, expressing my love and appreciation for her. After that, we made our way into the house, and I guided her wheelchair towards the living room.
As we entered, Abby's eyes were filled with tears of joy as she looked around at the familiar surroundings. I smiled at her and said, "Welcome home, Abby.
This is where you belong, with me, our child, and our loving family."
As we made our way into the house, I could feel Abby's excitement growing, and I knew that she was looking forward to being back home with me and our son.
I smiled to myself, knowing that this was where we all belonged, together as a family.
Suddenly, I heard Jayden's voice calling out from the sitting room, "Mommy!!" At the first sight of both Abby and me, he ran towards us with open arms, and Abby embraced him tightly.
"Hey Jayden!! I missed you so much!!" Abby confessed, with a wide smile on her face.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of joy wash over me as I watched the two of them embrace.
It was a moment that I knew I would cherish forever. Seeing Abby happy and getting along well with our son was all I ever wanted.
"Daddy?" Jayden called out, pulling me out from my thoughts about our beautiful family.
"Come here big boy!" I immediately left Abby's chair and jacked him up into my arms with an unending laughter on my face.
"Guess what Dad?" Jayden probed, smiling and giggling like he should.
I tilted my head to the left, with my eyes squinted and a grin on my face as I tried thinking about what he was going to say to me.
I wasn't good at guessing so I just shook my head as to say I don't know and of course, he got the information well.
"Well....." he stretched with his soft and tiny kid voice. "I've been selected as the best kid in my school and we are going on a trip to Disney world.!!" He revealed, sounding so excited. "And the best part is, I get to see my best and favourite character of the year!!" He increased his tone, laughing so hard.
"I'm proud of you boy!!" I patted his back lightly as I was so proud of having a son like him.
I was still having a fun time with both Jayden and my wife when suddenly, my Assistant walked into the house.
I turned around at the sound of his trudging footsteps and judging from the look on his face, it was obvious that something else was wrong.
"Speak!!" I commanded, dropping Jayden on the ground.
"He's About to leave Sir!! Jack wants to make his way out of the states!" He divulged, with his deep voice echoing in my living room.
"What? Jack?" Abby suddenly chimed in, hearing Jack's name.
Now this was the reason why I never wanted to tell her about Jack, the reason why I never wanted to tell her that I was trailing Jack for shooting her and making her crippled.
The look on her face told me everything I needed to know. Abby still felt pity for Jack and wished for him to be left alone.
"You can't do this, Alex!" She said firmly, her voice weak and soft.
"I can't do what, Abby? Can you help me explain what you mean by that?" I asked, trying to be calm as I turned to her with my hands dipped into my pockets.
I was really going to make her speak no matter what.
"Sir we might..." My assistant was going to say but then, a wave of my hand raised to the air stopped him from making more statements.
"I'm actually waiting for you to explain what you meant by I CAN'T DO THIS!!?" I said to Abby who had already gone all cold yet soft.
"Oh Abby..." I chuckled deeply, placing my hand on her shoulder. "You do realise that he is the main reason for your pain right? He made you this way, Abby. He made you stay on wheel support and yet, you are trying to protect him?" I was vexed, truth be told but I was still trying to keep my cool.
"It was a mistake, Alex and..."
"And.. fucking what, Abby?? He made you sit on a wheelchair and you call that a mistake? He f*****g pulled a trigger to kill me and you called that a mistake??" I bellowed, my voice scaring her.
"You are trying to be reckless here, Alex," Abby uttered, her voice quivering after listening to me.
"He was clouded and consumed with his anger and striving for revenge and you didn't call that being reckless but here I am, trying to get revenge on him for making you this way and you call me Reckless,?"
I was so outraged and couldn't hold back the hurt, the pain and the anger I felt. I felt like crushing Jack and that was what I was going to do.
"Sir.. we should..." Assistant King was going to say again.
"Don't you fucking dear interrupt me again, King!!! She needs to know the truth. I can't believe I had actually felt I was doing something good for an ingrate like you!!"
I took my hand off her shoulder and turned to leave the house but then, her voice held me back for a second.
"I never knew you could be this unforgiving till date!" She added, with a deep voice, capturing my feelings.
"Then it's best you know before we get married!!" I stated clearly.
"Let's go, King...!"
