An Affair With My Ex -
Chapter 91
Alex's POV.
I sat in the back seat of my car, seething with anger. King, my assistant, was driving us at breakneck speed towards the airport.
I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I thought about the man who had made my wife Abby crippled.
"You were going to run huh?" I couldn't believe he was about to leave the country, trying to escape the consequences of his actions.
My mind was consumed with rage, and I struggled to keep my emotions in check. I wanted nothing more than to catch this man and make him pay for what he had done. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists, trying to hold back the torrent of emotions that threatened to overwhelm me.
As we sped down the highway, I couldn't help but think about Abby and the suffering she had endured. The memory of her paralysis was still fresh in my mind, and I felt a pang of sympathy for her. But my anger quickly overtook my pity, and I resolved to do whatever it takes to bring justice to her.
I knew I had to stay focused and keep my anger in check if I was going to catch Jack before he left the country. With each passing moment, my resolve grew stronger, and I felt more determined than ever to see justice served. As we approached the airport, I took a deep breath and prepared myself for whatever lay ahead.
I climbed out of the car and immediately gave King the order to find Jack, no matter what it takes. My anger was at an all-time high, and I was ready to do whatever it takes to make him pay for what he did to my wife, Abby.
As we made our way through the airport, my eyes scanned the crowds, searching for any sign of Jack. And then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw him. He was standing in the waiting room, his back turned towards us. My heart raced as I felt my anger boiling up inside of me.
Without hesitation, I ran over to him, not giving him any chance to escape. As I got closer, I saw the look of fear on his face, and that only made me angrier. I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him towards me.
I gave him several punches to his face as I delivered justice for what he did to Abby. My rage was uncontrollable, fueled by the pain and suffering that Abby had endured. I wanted to strangle him to death for what he had done, and if time wasn't taken, I would have. It was only when King pulled me back that I realised what I was doing "Sir I think you should stop now, let the cops take over!".
My fists were bloody, and my breathing was ragged as I tried to control my emotions. I knew that my anger had taken over, and I needed to calm down before things got out of hand.
But for now, I was just glad that Jack was finally getting what he deserved.
As I panted, my eyes fixed on Jack's bruised face, I ordered King "Pick him up and take him to the car".
King did as I said, and we were soon all well-seated in the car, driving away from the airport.
As we drove, I could feel the weight of many eyes on us, wondering what had just happened. I didn't care what they thought; all that mattered was that we had finally caught Jack.
We arrived at the police station, and without wasting any time, I got Jack arrested for his heinous crimes. It was a small victory, but one that gave me some satisfaction. I knew that the journey to justice was far from over, but this was a step in the right direction.
As we dragged Jack into the cell, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. We had caught him, and justice would be served. However, Abby was not happy that I had gone after Jack. She was worried about my safety, and I knew I had to be careful.
But I was determined to make him pay for what he had done, no matter the cost. I stood firm, staring at Jack as they locked him away, and declared, "You must pay!" It was a warning, a promise that justice would be served, and I would do whatever it takes to make it happen. *********At The Mansion.
I walked into the house, feeling tired and stressed after the long fight with Jack. As soon as I stepped in, my son Jayden rushed to me with a big smile on his face, hugging me tightly. It was a moment of relief, but it was short-lived.
Abby didn't come to greet me. She had her back turned to me, still angry that I went after Jack. I walked over to her, knelt down in front of her, and held her hand.
"I'm sorry for making you angry, Abby," I said softly.
Abby turned her head slightly, listening to what I had to say.
"Jack had to pay for what he did to you. His court trial is in five days," I informed her.
Abby sighed and looked at me with tears in her eyes.
"You shouldn't have risked your life, Alex. What if something had happened to you?" she cried out.
Without hesitation, I stood up and gave Abby a gentle kiss on her forehead, then embraced her tightly.
"I promised to always be here, Abby. I'll never leave," I assured her, patting her back like a man should.
I knew that Jack's trial was going to be tough, but I was ready to face it.
*******Five Days later... Court Trial..
"It's about to begin, Abby....."
Abby and I were both present in the courtroom on the day of Jack's trial. We were eager to see Jack face the consequences of his actions.
Jack's defence attorney tried to plead with the judge, saying that Jack was a good man who made a mistake, but the evidence against him was overwhelming.
After several hours of deliberation, the judge finally announced the verdict: guilty of attempted murder. Jack was sentenced to five years in prison.
I couldn't help but feel satisfied with the verdict. Justice had been served.
"Yes!" I exclaimed, my heart at rest in a satisfying peace.
Abby leaned over and gave me a hug. It was a moment of relief for both of us. We knew that this wouldn't change the past or make Abby's injury go away, but it was a step towards closure.
As we left the courtroom, Abby looked at me with tears in her eyes.
"I'm so glad it's over, Alex. Thank you for everything," she said, giving me another hug.
I held her tightly, glad to have her in my arms.
"We'll get through this together, Abby. I promise," I whispered in her ear.
I knew that the road ahead was still going to be tough, but I was determined to be there for Abby every step of the way.
