Abby's POV.

I sat in front of the mirror, my heart pounding in my chest as I watched the ladies behind me fussing over my hair and makeup.

I couldn't believe that today was finally my wedding day, the day I had been dreaming of since I was a little girl.

As I looked at my reflection, I couldn't help but think about Jack, my ex-boyfriend.

The memory of his suicide after the court case came flooding back to me, and I felt a pang of guilt. I wished I could have done something to stop him.

But I quickly pushed the thought aside. Today was my special day, and she I couldn't let the past ruin it. I took a dee breath and tried to focus on the present moment.

The ladies behind me continued to work, chatting and laughing as they applied the finishing touches to my makeup. I felt my nerves start to ease as I listened to their banter, and soon I found herself smiling.

“I'm getting married now,” I reminded herself. “I should forget everything that happened.”

I took another deep breath and looked at myself in the mirror again. My hair was perfectly styled, my makeup flawless.

I felt beautiful, and for the first time in a long time, I felt truly happy.

As I wiped away a stray tear, I summoned up all the courage I could muster and stood up from the chair.

Well that's right..

I was able to walk now after almost a year of trying to get used to my legs. It wasn't easy though but I'm glad I survived it, I survived the pain and the hurt.

The past few years have been a hell rollercoaster but I was certain that I was about to get to my peaceful end now. “Shall we welcome the Bride!”

I suddenly heard the priest's voice from the room where I was and with a smile on my face, I raised my gown in my hand.

“Let's go.. get married,” she said to the ladies, a big smile on her face. “I'm ready.” I announced.

They all followed me, their laughter from behind cheering me up.

As I walked through the doors of the church, my heart skipped a beat. It was my wedding day, the day I had been dreaming of for as long as I could remember.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves as I made my way down the aisle.

I could see Alex standing at the altar, his eyes fixed on me. A smile erupted on my face, and my heart swelled with love and gratitude. I couldn't believe that I was here, about to become his wife.

“I can't believe I am here as his bride,” I whispered inwardly, feeling a wave of emotion wash over me.

As I got closer to the altar, I could see the joy in Alex's eyes. He looked handsome in his suit, and I couldn't help but feel grateful that he had chosen me to be his partner for life.

The closer I got, the more my heart raced. And when I finally reached the altar, Alex whispered to me, “You look so beautiful to be a princess!”

I chuckled, feeling a rush of happiness at his words. “Thank you,” I whispered back, feeling more in love with him than ever before.

As we stood at the altar, facing each other, I felt a rush of emotion wash over me. This was the moment I had been waiting for, the moment when Alex and I would exchange our vows and promise to be there for each other for the rest of our lives.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves as I looked into Alex's eyes. He looked so handsome, and I felt so lucky to be standing here with him.

“Alex,” I began, my voice barely above a whisper. “From the moment I met you, I knew that you were the one. You've brought so much joy and love into my life, and I promise to always cherish and honour you.”

I could feel tears starting to well up in my eyes as I spoke. This was such an important moment, and I wanted to make sure that my words conveyed all the love and commitment that I felt for Alex.

“And I promise to always be there for you, through thick and thin, in sickness and in health,” I continued.

“I will love you unconditionally and support you in all your dreams and aspirations. You are my soulmate, my best friend, and the love of my life. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”

As I finished speaking, I saw tears glistening in Alex's eyes. He took a deep breath and began to speak his own vows, promising to be my partner in life, my support, and my rock.

The words he spoke were beautiful, and I felt my heart swell with love and gratitude. We exchanged rings, and the congregation erupted in applause and cheers.

At that moment, I knew that Alex and I were truly meant to be together. Our love was strong and pure, and I couldn't wait to start our new life together as husband and wife.

As the priest pronounced us husband and wife, I felt a sense of euphoria wash over me. This was it, the moment I had been dreaming of for so long.

I looked into Alex's eyes, and I could see that he was feeling just as happy and excited as I was.

We turned to face the congregation, and I felt a wave of love and support emanating from our family and friends. They were all here to witness our union, and I felt grateful to have so many people in our lives who loved and supported us.

As we walked down the aisle, hand in hand, I could feel the happiness bubbling up inside of me. And when we finally made it outside the church, Alex turned to me and pulled me into a passionate kiss.

The kiss was everything I had dreamed it would be and more. It was filled with love, passion, and commitment. It was a symbol of our new life together, and I felt so lucky to have found someone who loved me so deeply.

As we pulled away from the kiss, we both laughed and hugged each other tightly. We were both filled with joy and happiness, grateful to have found each other and to be starting a new life together.

“I love you,” Alex whispered in my ear, and I knew that those three words would be the foundation of our marriage. We had promised to be there for each other, through thick and thin, and I knew that we would always keep that promise.

“Mommy!” I suddenly got pulled out of trance at the sound of my son, Jayden.

“Come here boy!” I chuckled as I turned to him with my hands widely opened to receive him.

“Hey Jayden...”

Alex caressed his hair and the smiles on our faces was something I never wished to miss.

Together, we got into the car that would take us to our reception, ready to celebrate our love and start our new life together as husband and wife.
