Chapter 47

HARVEY

Both Harrison and I leave Theo with Hayley. He needs to be with his mate.

We both want to do what's right for Hayley. As we head to the front of the hospital, Vivian comes running towards me. "He is here, babe," she says.

I can't help but look towards my brother, who stares back at me, Emma by his side. We both take off and head back to the office with our mates following us. Agent Matthews was standing outside the pack house as we came closer and we can see she's not alone.

"Babe, we will leave you to it," says Vivian suddenly as the man looks at all four of us walking towards them. "Both Emma and I will get changed and wait for you back at her house," she says and Emma nods. "We will make sure Aunt Jackie is with us too."

We kiss our mates goodbye as they turn around to head in a different direction to Emma's house.

A man looks at us with a grim look, but once Agent Matthews tells him something, he looks back at us and gives us a small smile. "Ah, Harvey, Harrison, this is Alpha Nathan," Agent Matthews says, looking at the three of us. Alpha Nathan smiles. "It's nice to meet you," he says, holding out his hand for us to shake. "I think we should get inside out of prying eyes, don't you," he says looking around.

After we both shake his hand, we just follow both Agent Matthews and Alpha Nathan back into the pack house and straight through to the office. No one else was here except Alpha Jacob, who looked up at us as we all worked. Alpha Nathan looks at him and gives him a warm smile. "Jacob is that really you, I haven't seen you since your parent's funeral, you have changed so much," he says as Alpha Jacob moves out of his seat and wraps the man into a hug. "It's so good to see you Nath, Father would have been so happy that we were meeting once again but obviously not under these circumstances," he says with a grim look as we all take seats around the office. Alpha Nathan, Alpha Jacob and Agent Matthews sit near one another as both Harrison and I take our seats on the couch.

"This whole situation is just awful," Alpha Nathan says suddenly. "I think I best start telling you my side of the story. Has Ruth told you anything yet?" He asks Agent Matthews, who shakes her head. "No, she is still out cold in the cells but she will be waking up soon but I think we should wait for..." she says but looks at both Harrison and I, but she closes her mouth.

Alpha Nathan looks at both of us. "What happened to Gary Lawson?" He asks through gritted teeth.

"Well, that is a fine story to tell. I killed him by ripping out his throat," Alpha Jacob says.

Alpha Nathan smirks. "That's the best thing for the low life after all the lives he ruined over the years," he says.

"What happened to you?" I ask suddenly, as I want to find out more about this man before I even consider anything that regards him going anywhere near Hayley.

Alpha Nathan looks at me. "Well, young wolf, I was an alpha to a small pack not far from here. I must have had over a hundred wolves under me and we were loyal to your pack, many others too, but mainly to the old alpha and also Jacob too. But suddenly we were having rogue attacks after rogue attacks until there were not even half of us left. One night my Luna and son were getting ready to leave the territory to get to safety when Gary killed them. It was heart wrenching to say the least," he says trying to keep his emotions in check "When Gary came to the pack he wanted me to submit to him but I fought until I couldn't no more, he placed me in the cells but he never knew about our secret passageway to get in and out which was dated back five hundred years" he says. "I managed to escape and found sanctuary at the werewolf council, where I met Agent Matthews."

"How did you meet our mother?" Asks Harrison with an annoyed voice. I think he wants him to get on with it as much as I do.

Alpha Nathan looks at both of us. "Well, I was roaming around the streets at the time; I had no money or house, basically nothing, so when I met your mother I was at my all-time lowest. She came into a bar and got so wasted and flirted with me nonstop all night. I was flattered but was not interested, which made her angry. After a few more attempts she left me but came back in an hour or so later with a drink which was laced with GHB which at that time I didn't know and I would drink anything I could get my hands on at the time as I was still grieving the loss of my Luna and son. After drinking it, I felt weary and tired but I felt like I was in a nightmare," he says. "I was there with your mum for five nights. I don't know what came over me."

He looked at his hands that he had on the table and sighed. "I remember waking up on the sixth day, covered in love bites. I rang Agent Matthews straight away and explained everything," he says and looks back at us. "I didn't know it was your mother until a few months later, but back then I received an email telling me that I need to pay her ten thousand dollars every three months as I had a child, I didn't think it was real until I received a photo of a little girl." He moves his left hand and pulls out his wallet. He opens his wallet and pulls out a folded piece of paper and slides it over to Harrison and I.

I grab it as Harrison comes closer to me as I open it. There sitting on a bright pink bike that our father bought her for her third birthday was Hayley, her little green eyes twinkling as the sun beat down on her and her smile. I remember that day; it was all four of us except mother as she was on one of her benders or something at the time.

Harrison has a blank expression on his face but I look towards Alpha Nathan who has been staring at us both. "I didn't think it was real, but she looks a little like my son at that age," he says with a hint of sadness.

A tear slides down his face. "I don't know what I want and I don't want you to think I'm taking her away as I'm no longer an alpha and also she is an adult but I would like to stay around for a while and make sure she's ok and also," he says as he wipes his eyes with the back of his hand but his face changes once again. "I want to see that bitch hang for what she did, not only to my pack and family but to everyone else she has hurt along the way, especially the two of you," he says looking at us. "How could a mother treat a child the way she did and also abandon her other children in the process?"

I stiffen. No one has ever said anything like this to both Harrison and I. We always made sure Hayley was protected at all times, including leaving mother out of everything.

Harrison clears his throat. "I don't know what to say. Both Harvey and I did our best with our father to raise Hayley and she was still our sister but..." he says but couldn't continue.

I cleared my throat. "What is my brother trying to say? Hayley has a rare blood group, and she needs a blood transfusion. We are wondering if you have the same blood type as her and would you be willing to donate?" I ask.

Alpha Nathan's eyes were wide. "I will donate, not because she's my daughter, but Agent Matthews told me so much about her and what she has been through over the last few days," he says. "I take it her mate is with her at the moment."

I nod. "He is, I think we should go and see her," I say to him, which takes him back a bit. "Could I see her?" He asks. I think he wanted confirmation that he could.

"Yeah you can, she is in the pack hospital," says Harrison out of nowhere.

We all take our leave from the office and head over to the hospital to see Hayley.

As we get there and head straight into her room, Theo with his head on the bed sleeping.

Hayley looks completely white and covered in bandages, her wrists and ankles, plus where she had the stab wounds.

Alpha Nathan comes in and his face turns white. "Has she moved or woken up yet?" he asks quietly, trying not to wake Theo, but his eyes open and look between all five of us. "Sorry, I needed to rest my eyes," he says.

He looks awful.

He looks towards Hayley, but his eyes land on Alpha Nathan.

Alpha Nathan smiles at him. "You must be Hayley's mate," he says, and holds his hand out for Theo to shake.

Theo takes his hand and shakes it. "I'm Theo," he says and Alpha Nathan smiles. "I'm Alpha Nathan, well Nathan I'm not an alpha no more," he says.

He looks at Hayley. "How is she?" He asks in a whisper.

Theo looks at Hayley with sadness in his eyes. "No change from when Harvey and Harrison left. She hasn't moved," he says.

My heart starts to break as I want my baby sister to wake up. I want her to argue with me or shout at me, to do something.

We were all quiet for a while till the door opened to the pack doctor and two nurses. "We have come to check her vitals," she says quietly.

The pack doctor looks at Alpha Nathan. "You must be the person I need to check your blood," she says, which earns a chuckle from Alpha Nathan. "I am happy to help in any way I can," he says.

"We will take the other room to do the blood work and that," she says and opens the door. Alpha Nathan looks once more at Hayley and leaves with the pack doctor, Alpha Jacob and Agent Matthews.

I need to see my mate; I feel restless and my wolf needs to get away. Seeing Hayley like this is killing us as it makes us remember what happened back five years ago when she lost the baby.

Harrison can sense my discomfort. "I think we will leave," he says and turns to Theo. "I think you need to go home and have a shower, dude."

Theo looks at both of us. "I will soon. Summer's going to sit with her for a while so I can use the bathroom here. She is picking up some of my stuff for me," he says.

Both Harrison and I walk out of the hospital and head to his house with Emma.

But on the way. "What do you think, bro?" He asks suddenly.

I sigh. "I think we will watch him for a while, but I hope this is a good thing," I say.

As we approach Emma's house, the door flies open with both Emma and Vivian running towards us, Vivian jumps into my arms and all I can do is lift her up and inhale her scent which calms my wolf down completely, she places a kiss on my lips.

"I love you, babe," she says in a whisper.

"I love you too," I say into her neck.

We all walk into the house, and Jackie is sitting there waiting for us.

We tell them everything about Alpha Nathan.
