Anything For You
Chapter 132

Father.." A faint sweet voice buzzed in lord Faust's ears while he was busy checking the monthly accounts. He snapped his head up in the speed of wind. His previously frowned temple became eased up the moment his dear daughter's beautiful face came into its

sight. He couldn't believe his own pair of eyes. His baby, his dear child was finally here.

Leaving the accounts as such, the pen he was holding on to got glued to the blank papers and he quickly wrapped her in his tight arms. Sniffing her scent, he made sure of no danger lurking over her, he eased up and his muscles relaxed, and a sweet smile replaced it up. Beaming like a star, he enquired stroking her hairs lightly,

"When did you get here? Why weren't I informed?" his voice changing lightly to an authoritative one towards the guards standing at his room doors. Poor souls. "Why don't I get your scent?"

"Oh ho.. hold on father... Breath." Calista made a breathing gesture. Whenever Faust got agitated, she always used this trick to calm him down.

"Now coming back to your questions; First, I got here just minutes ago. Second, I told everyone to not inform you because I wanted to surprise. And... third, you didn't get my scent because I ate MAMICA HERB." She said everything one by one counting on her fingers like she used to when she was just a toddler.

Lord Faust found her too cute always. But her using MAMICA HERB made him a bit worried. He scowled a bit,

"Why?"

She narrowed her brows forming a light crease over her neat and plain temples. She guessed already that he was going to nag about it.

"Actually,".... She made a pouting gesture only for Faust to get over to the conclusion of what she was about to say or confess next..... "I didn't bring extra guards with me. So, I blocked my scent using Mimica Herb. I took it from Grandfather." Eyes wide like a puppy, she confessed.

Before she could utter any more words, Faust's eyes changed color from Honey to Bright Red. The guards gasped in fear. They knew that Princess Calista wouldn't ever be punished, but what about those poor souls... they won't be spared, even if they didn't do anything. Witnessing him getting furious, she immediately held his coat like a child and whined,

"Father, I can protect myself. I am a fierce Vampiress. You shouldn't worry yourself so much. I am all grown up."

"I know dear. And I never like to restrain you. But you know that recently there had been attacks from humans. So, I just want you to be extra careful. Some humans know about us. They can target you for their nasty benefits." Faust briefed her everything. He never wanted to cage her, he never did. She was free always.

But being a royal, that too a princess had some perks and pitfalls too. She beamed with a smile and replied back,

"If anything like that ever happened, it isn't like you can't kill them."

"Always bloodthirsty." Herbew entered the room and she snorted at him. Both the father and son laughed out. The poor guards heaved a sigh of relief at this moment. The situation which looked like tensed a bit ago, was eased up and they both eye-gestured each other that their poor lives were speared, or else the king would have released all of his anger over them.

"Where is your mother, princess?" Faust looked here and there thinking his wife Jasmine Bravar Roxflood would have also accompanied his daughter.

Both the kids looked at him and then at each other. Calista's eyebrows wiggled mischievously, while Herbew was also unable to control himself over her gestures.

"Father! Mother said she would love to stay back with grandparents for more days as she is enjoying a lot. So, I came back since I was missing you both." She said those words stressing the fact that her mother wasn't coming for more number of days only to notice a restless expression over her father's face. Herbew teased him.

"Looks like someone is missing his wife a lot. Come princess, we will stroll the kingdom. Let father miss mother."

The king smacked his head harder, while Calista giggled a bit. The three of them talked about her days back in her grandparents house. When she was about to get up to have some stroll with Herbew, she was stopped by Faust.

"Princess, I have something to discuss with you. Can you stay a bit?" The king asked Calista with a soft questioning look, to which she obliged and nodded.

"Brother, you go ahead. I am joining you in a bit. And yes, change this dress of yours. It smells like blood." Calista suggested Herbew, who just snorted over her set of words and growled grumpily.

"Whatever!" He took leave from them both and the father-daughter duo continued.

"Calista, There is an invitation of a party from Mr. Cimberland in human world. He had launched anew product and also a new branch of his industry. Since we are the working partners, so, we have to be present there. But I can't go there personally. Herbew rejected the idea saying that his parties are dead boring. Then I was thinking may be...." Faust stopped in the middle, as if letting her guess what was coming ahead.

The Vampiress beamed happily and immediately blurted out. "I can go."

Faust raised one of his eyebrows at her joyous face. Why this girl always got ready to attend the parties, while his whole family despised them! He nodded and continued,

"The place will be studded with humans, not only humans but other vampires from other kingdoms, werewolves and as far as I know some of the shifters would also be there. So you need to...."

"Yes, yes... I need to be careful. You will send some baboons-slash-guards with me to protect me. But father, you know that I end up protecting them instead. Besides, I am a royal Pure blooded Vampiress, one of my kind; nobody would mess with me." She grinned at the last set of words.

Faust patted her head and nodded in agreement.

"I know, but for me you will always be my little child whom I desire to protect from everything."

"Alright. Ah.. father, I brought some presents for you. Would you want it now or..." She wiggled her eyebrows once again with the same teasing grin.

"Now." The king expressed his desire to see what she brought for him.

"Ta-da.." she showcased the present from behind her hands. He thought she was just standing in that posture, but no this little brat was hiding the present. Forwarding it towards him, her eyes danced with curiosity to know whether he would like it or not. "Really..!!" The king was short of words the instant he unboxed the present. It was a very nice pair of shoes custom-made for him only. They were off charcoal with Ash gray lines and water droplet sized diamonds studded over the tips. He always something like that. Averting his eyes from the shoes, he looked at his daughter with a loveable gaze.

"Judging from this soft look, I know you loved them. And I know you want to hug me. Here.." she said and wrapped him into a tight hug.

"May I disturb the father-daughter duo?" A voice echoed into the room from outside. Both the king and Calista were perfectly aware about whom it belonged to. Releasing each other, the king Kept those shoes aside and nodded in agreement, letting Mr. Wades inside.

"Uncle Wades. How have you been?" Calista asked wrapping one of her arms around his waist- a gesture of side-hugging him. He looked at her with soft smile and patted her head replying back,

"I am very fine. We all missed you very much, princess." She pouted.

"But I can see you didn't miss me that much. You didn't bring any gifts for me." Wades faked a sad expression. She chuckled at his childishness. Unlike her father and brother, she was always adored by Mr. Wades like his own daughter. Although he was blessed by two sons and a daughter; the former working as chief accountants and the later enjoying her days with her family. Still, he loved Calista more than them all.

"How can I not bring anything for you! See, I brought your favourite dumplings and saffron of MOHAI Valley. And... I brought presents for Veronica (Wades' daughter) and brothers too." She said handing him over the present. His eyes beamed with happiness, while the king immediately snatched away those dumplings.

"Hey, what are you doing? They are mine. My daughter gave them to me. Give me back." Wades whined.

"How can you give him two presents, princess? You brought only one for me!!" The king nagged.

She chuckled and enjoyed her time. Excusing herself from both of their nagging, she hauled up and responded,

"You both can fight for these dumplings, or share them. I am going to brother. He promised to take me for a stroll. Bye father, bye uncle Wades." She planted soft cheek kisses to both of them before leaving.

Both the men laughed and resumed talking about her more. Their talks involved her childhood and how lovable she had been. She was always a filial daughter, a good friend, and a loving sister.

"My lord"..... wades stuffed two dumplings in his mouth and started to chat.... "Why are you always so adamant on sending the guards with princess everywhere? I mean, she is a royal Pure blooded Vampiress. It's nothing like she would be harmed, ever."

The king stopped chewing the dumpling piece feeling like it was suffocating him now. The question Wades had asked pushed into a flashback: he always wanted to hide from everyone.
