Anything For You -
Chapter 141
Having his breakfast, Leevon spent some more time with his friend James. He wanted to stay with him for a day, but the later rejected that idea saying that, Lee had to hurry up as the monk wouldn't always be waiting for him. He also added that the monk was always on the go. The only way to confirm his current location was to check by writing the address in that paper slip.
On further investigation from Leevon's side, he came to know that the monk himself had handed over that paper slips to James. When he wrote the address and handed it over to the person concerned, the only way to confirm was that burning paper slip. If the slip didn't burn, it meant that the monk had already changed his location and the person was wished a better luck next time.
James came to know about the monk, when the later himself approached him after James' father expired. He was a great doctor of his times and before dying passed on every fraction of his knowledge to James. 'Humans believe in miracles' His father said on his dead bed, and handed him over the paper slip, which caught fire in his hands as soon as he finished reading the address over it.
After his father's last rituals, James headed towards that address and met the monk. "Your father wanted you to be a good doctor. Treat people with a humble heart." The monk said to him. James was confused, for he was facing this old monk for the first time in his life. Sensing his insecurities, the monk just patted his back and suggested, "Work hard. One day, an old friend of yours would come to you for help. But, you won't be able to help him. So, send him to me. Also, the people who you won't be able to treat would survive, only if they found me on time."
Saying those words to him, the monk disappeared into the forest besides that moon-colored lake. It was the same address that James handed over to Leevon. The burning paper slip confirmed that the monk was still using that forest house and Leevon had to rush. James was although a doctor, yet he was an atheist. He believed 'Humans can't conquer everything. There are many things that we just don't know yet. It's for our betterment!
He said the same words to Leevon, who was still in daze. For Leevon, all this was perfectly new. First those horrific images, flashes, then Calista's loveable face, then this monk and all this information. His head started to spin. He wasn't able to grasp so much of the information and get it processed. James sensed through it. Sitting down close to him, James kept one of his hands at Leevon's knee and the other at his shoulder,
"Don't do it if you aren't sure. But, do it for yourself. Most importantly, for your love, Calista. She wouldn't like it, if you would always be worried around her. So, the only way now is that monk. Go and find him, Leevon." And after you are back, we can chit-chat and play like we used to in our old days. You always lost in the games." James chuckled with the last set of his words and Leevon frowned a bit, but that frown was soon replaced with happiness over his face. Yes, he had to do it. He had to face his fears. And now, he was definitely going to do it.
(Grand Empress gasped at this section. The words were still blood red and flowing like blood over the book. Whole heavenly book had appeared to be turned red, stained with blood. She had a bad feeling about this all.)
Travelling through the cities, Leevon had crossed all the seven cities in his way to Carica Forest, where he was supposed to be face-to-face with that monk. That monk seemed to be a powerful being at this time. He was his only hope. It's been a day since they had been back from their little business trip. Calista had been busy with her mother, Veronica and Herbew. Soon, they received a news from Faust that he had successfully won the war.
After a long wait of over two months, the King had negotiated terms with the FIFTH LAKE king and they settled over the fact that Roxflood would give up on 20 villages which were given to them during the treaty. In return, the shifters would never cross the kingdom borders and harm people or vampires. If they were found to do so, the king wouldn't hesitate to kill them all.
The king wasn't a scardy cat that he didn't want to fight. But he knew that lives were at stake and war would only lead to havoc and destruction from both sides. He wasn't that ambitions and stupid to kill so many people just to have some pieces of land to rule. He already had enough in his platter. Hence, a good conversation proved to be a way out of that destruction. He sent the news that he would be arriving back in the kingdom by evening.
Preparations were at peak to welcome the king. All the ladies of house were so engrossed and happy, that Calista almost forgot that it had been two days since she had last talked to Leevon; let alone seen him. But her father was her priority at the moment. On the other side, Leevon was now at the border of Carica Forest. The beautiful forest turned spooky at night, scaring off the last ounce of courage people had. But he was determined. Not paying any attention to the spooky noises, voices, creature's howls and moving trees, he kept on pacing ahead slowly.
He had long left away his carriage, and was now riding a horse, thanking his father in his mind for teaching him horse-riding back in his adulthood. It was clear that the animal was getting afraid; for its movements were staggering and all it was doing was pacing back instead of moving ahead.
But Leevon was not going to back off now. Slowly, he had exited the spooky section and entered into the second section, which looked a different world. He couldn't believe his eyes. Never in his life, had he seen something like that. The trees, flowers, bushes, animals.. everything looked like a dream. They were way too unrealistic. The horse calmed down and moved really smoothly.
He was lost in the beauty of this forest for a bit, but then remembered the address he read over that paper slip back in James' house. Immediately the scenario in front of his eyes changed and he was facing a lake. The lake was a symbol of peace and beauty to him. Sharp moonlight bathed the lake water, making it look as if it was not water but liquid silver.
The water droplets shone like the silver beads and he wanted to take a deep dive into it. Before seeking the monk, he wanted to get the view registered inside his brain. It's beauty was sparking and breath-taking. The little blooming flowers around the banks of that lake were adding more to its beauty. While he was savouring it's beauty, he noticed a little hut besides the southern corner of lake.
An array of peach flowers ran around the hut. He left his horse and tied it to the nearby tree; the later started having the grasses to fill it's stomach, and moved towards the hut's direction assuming it to be the same address.
As he moved ahead, the size of hut kept on getting bigger and bigger. There were no lanterns or artificial lights, but he was able to see everything way too clearly; as if it's wasn't the moon-light illuminating his path, but sun-light. He observed the sky. It looked like a huge black plate filled with a large, round, white moon and millions of stars enjoying it's light.
Suddenly, a strong smell hit his nostrils and he closed his eyes at the sensation it caused. He felt like a wave of emotions ran through his body making him feel light and away from the worldly sorrows. If he wasn't that determined, he would have forgotten the reason for his arrival in this forest in the first place. The smell was actually fragrance oozing out from the peach flowers.
He didn't even notice when he reached here. All he was aware about was, he was too occupied in the beautiful view around him, that he failed to notice that he had already been standing outside the hut, sniffing that sweet aroma of peach flowers and looking at the mulberry wood door of the hut, which was shut of what seemed from the inside.
Coming back to reality, he scanned his surroundings and found his horse lying over the forest floor, probably sleeping. The animal was also too tired from a long journey. Looking here and there, he heaved a long sigh and remembered his cause of visiting the monk. His hand lifted up in the air, only to touch that metal door handle; the later being rounded in appearance and tucked in the strong door, but could be moved up and down using hand. The handle was warm; unlike the forest which was cold. He thanked James in his mind to let him have some spare clothes, or else he would have got himself frozen before even stepping inside.
He grabbed the round handle and used it to knock the door thrice. It was his childhood habit. The door was still shit tightly, movement was heard from inside. He felt as if the monk wasn't here. But that wasn't the case, as James told him that if the monk left that place, he wouldn't find the hut. If the hit was there, the monk would certainly be inside.
As he lifted the handle again to strike over the mulberry door, the door opened up showing him the interiors of hut and a sound welcomes him,
"Leevon, step inside. I had been waiting for you."
