Anything For You -
Chapter 140
"I feel like having some days off too. Maybe you are right. I have been overworking myself." Leevon agreed with Calista. He was having some nightmares since past months. This, overworking seemed to be a nice reason behind this, as his mind was not getting a tiny bit of rest in all those chaos. Also, his father had properly retried after his co-operation with the Roxflood corporations, as he believed in his son. This, work load was getting on his nerves these days.
It was pretty late in the evening. The couple headed towards their rooms. Despite they were lovers, but they wanted to keep a low profile. For others, they were still business associates who were getting along really well. So, sharing a room wasn't even an option. Calista bid him a goodbye with a light peck over his cheeks, while he patted her head and smile gently, warming her heart.
Later at the night, Leevon was sleeping over his motel room bed, lights shut. The room was lit only with a dim flicker of light coming from a lantern hanging outside the door from a small peep hole in the later paired with dim moon light; a perfect environment to sleep with cold wind brushing inside every now and then.
He was moving slowly over the bed as if in dream. With time, his slow movements turned raspier and he started to jerk his head here and there. He seemed to be having a nightmare. His palms clenched tightly, mouth shut and teeth jabbing together, eyes closely shut with eyelashes getting buried in the skin. Although, he was quite, but his movements were clear enough to let anyone know that he was scared; badly afraid.
After a quick lapse of tiny fraction of time, he shot opened his eyes: brown pair of orbs turned red partially with sleep and partially with fear; the later overtaking the former. The first were still clenched tightly. He mustered up all of his courage and changed the posture from lying on the bed to sitting over it. His throat was moving up and down displaying gulping manner. Sweat drenched his faint white shirt and the fabric was now hugging his chiseled muscles.
The same flashes again..! The same horrific images again...! What was happening to him? Why was he continuously witnessing this? Why...? Calista loved him more than anything, then why would she kill him in a dream? What exactly was the case..? Earlier, he thought to leave the matter as such, but now.... He had to find out the truth, no matter what. He had decided. But how would he...?
All these thoughts were buzzing his head. He was calculating all the possibilities and persons who could help him understand his nightmares, when he suddenly remembered a friend of his.
'Yes, tomorrow... I am going to visit him. He will surely help me. He thought and laid down again. His gaze was sharp and watchful, searching every nook and corner of the room, stopping over the dim flicker of light. His mind held on to hope like this dim flicker and slowly sleep took over him.
With the first striking rays of sunlight, both the people exited that motel to reach out to their respective destinations with different aims and hopes; Calista hoped to see her mother after a long while; and Leevon hoped to see his friend to unveil the truth. During the way, they parted their ways at a certain point. It was a valley which separated human world from Roxflood kingdom. The kingdom was in human residencies, but was owned by Vampires and was hidden from their eyes. Only the chosen humans could cross it provided they were with a vampire.
"Mother, I am home." Calista's happy voice landed in Jasmine's ears and she got excited finding her dearest daughter in the castle back. She had arrived yesterday, but found that Calista was out for business and got struck.
"My child, I missed you so much." Jasmine hugged her tightly, but her nose crunched at the scent Calista carried. Breaking free from the hug, she enquired,
"Calista, why do you smell like a human? Have you been with humans?"
"Yes mother. I was with Le... I mean, I was with Mr. Leevon Lexington, our business partner from LEXINGTON corporation." Calista didn't try to hide the truth, but chose to not let the whole truth slip out of her tongue. She wasn't sure how her mother would react to this.
"You should be careful around humans. Your father..."
"Yes, yes. I know. But father is still not back. So, I am enjoying my days." Calista replied back to her mother not letting her finish with her signature move of playfully wiggling her eyes.
The mother-daughter duo joined in a good amount of laughter and sat over to have their talks and breakfast. -Leevon's Friend's House-
"Hey buddy, how have you been? It's been such a long time. Why are you here suddenly?" James, Leevon's childhood friend enquired, first hugging her and then offering a couch to sit. James had been living in a different city. It was almost a three hours long journey from Leevon's city, but since he headed from the partition of Human and Vampire world towards James, it merely took him One hour.
"I am very good. And I have a favour to ask." Leevon replied back, not dragging the matter. The flashes and horrible images had been already annoyingly him a lot. He didn't want to waste even a single second beating around the bush.
"Lee, I am just a doctor. You are a famous business person. How can I help you?" James had never thought that such a rich person would seek his help. Besides, it's been ages since they last heard from each other. They were ten years old when James' father- a doctor- got shifted to another city due to financial crisis. Since then, they lost touch. Leevon had come to know about James being a doctor from one of his associates. He hadn't thought that he would be seeking him like this.
"I need a doctor." Lee said.
"Tell me, ho can I help you." James interjected forwarding a plate of cookies alongwith some tea, while the breakfast was on its way, since it was early in the morning.
"I have been distributed since two months. I keep seeing on flashes, horrific images of a girl killing me with her sword." Lee briefed, not wanting to mention his relationship with Calista. He knew that she wanted to tell her father about it first.
"Lee, you have to tell me everything in detail, or else, I won't be of any help to you." James sensed the hesitation in Leevon's tone and guessed he wasn't putting forward the whole situation.
Finding no other option to rebuke, Lee nodded his head in agreement and told his friend everything about his nightmares, his relationship with Calista and the experiences he'd had.
"If what you said is the matter, I can only jump to one conclusion." James said making a thinking posture with one of his fingers scratching his chin, while his eyes made the doctor-like movements.
"What...!" Leevon was thrilled that finally he would be able to get rid of all those nasty stuffs, the nightmares and those images. Excitement was inevitable.
"It's a thing of past life. I mean, it is possible that what you said is the truth. But it is also possible that it could be your brain messing up the facts. All in all, in either way, you have to find out." James replied back, putting down the tea cup in its saucer.
"How...?" Past life, reincarnation.. these stuffs seemed kind of superstition to Leevon. But for now, nothing mattered more than getting rid of all that. He wanted to start a smooth and healthy relationship with Calista and for that, he needed to know the truth about his nightmares and flashes. And moreover, why were they so prominent whenever hevwas with Calista ...!
"Hypnosis" ... James replied, but added, "I am not sure about that. I mean sometimes, the patient slips into it way too much that they ends up getting insane or loosing all of their memories."
Loosing his sanity was horrible, but not remembering who he was and even who Calista was, pricked his heart like a thorn. Even if he had to live his whole life like this, he would. But forgetting Calista was never on the list.
"Any other methods...?" Lee still held on to hope. Besides the person sitting in front of him wasn't an ordinary doctor, he was a renowned one. James grinned sarcastically.
"You buddy... (moving his fingers like appreciating Lee for his knowledge of James' reputation and personality).. you surely know my worth. Well, this is the address of a monk. He won't see you if your condition is treatable by medicines." James handed over a paper slip with some address over it to Leevon. Lee was curious, but he waited for James to finish. The later added,
"If he let you in his house, then you will find the truth. If not...."
"If not....! Then..!" Lee wondered about what would happen to him, in case the monk James mentioned hadn't attended to him.
"Then, I am sorry my friend. You would be on your own." James said gripping Lee's shoulder with one hand as of giving him the strength and courage.
Lee peeled over the slip and read out the address. "34 street of West-Lake, Near Holy Cemetery, Old hut with Red door." The address only gave him goosebumps. He was still in his thoughts when the slip in his hand suddenly caught fire. He felt a burning sensation and dropped the paper over ground. Amazed, surprised or shocked. He wasn't sure about the emotion muddling with his mind. "You should leave today My friend." James said smilingly.
