Anything For You
Chapter 139

Days were passing like the speed of wind. The situation at North borders was somewhat under control, but it was talking more than usual. The king had been there at the borders with his soldiers, who were fighting bravely. Numerous of lives were lost from both sides. The new king of FIFTH LAKE SHIFTERS was adamant on capturing 57 villages that were once a part of FIFTH LAKE kingdom, but were passed to Roxflood kingdom due to the peace treaty. All this dated back to several of decades when then king of FIFTH LAKE kingdom, the grandfather of new king had signed a treaty of peace with Roxflood kingdom. His shifters had caused havoc in vampire region. They used to hunt vampires and some of the royals were also killed in that commotion.

To express his guilt and his Apologizes, the then king of FIFTH LAKE kingdom summoned King FAUST BRAVER ROXFLOOD in his kingdom and they signed a peace treaty mentioning that same number of villages would be handed over to Roxflood kingdom as the number of lives lost from Vampire side. 57 people died at that time in the hands of shifters, 12 out of them were royals in some way, while the rest were common vampires. Both the king's agreed and the treaty was followed up to two months ago, when suddenly the new king of FIFTH LAKE kingdom took charge after his father's retirement and grandfather's death.

He mentioned that since the grandfather was dead now, so the treaty wouldn't be followed any longer and they wished to have their villages back. Giving no time to the vampires, the shifters just barged in the kingdom, killing the vampire guards over the north kingdom. The king had taken everything under his control as soon as he was reported, but still they were not the ordinary Shifters, but SHIFTERS of FIFTH LAKE kingdom; beast and deadly creatures that used to feed on Vampire blood.

The whole of Mangtu village and 7 other villages were acquired by them till now. All the war was now struck over the next village, the HOPE village. It was a house to several of the royal ministers and many loyal vampires. The population contained more than 80 percent of vampires with some creatures and a tiny fraction of humans; the later resided because of industrial settlements.

The king had his tent installed in the Hope village to supervise whole situation waiting for his royal guards to report about the next matter, while his attention was wriggling between the war and his daughter. Not long back, he received the news of Calista being romantically involved with human Leevon. He was desperate to finish this war stuff and return back. Waiting for the forecast to happen was the last thing he wanted to do.

Leevon and Calista had been dating since two months. Everything was so good with them. They enjoyed their time with each other, discussing the business and some other stuffs like where to go, which places to explore, what to eat and when to meet each other the next time.

Calista, who had always been pampered by her mother, father, brother and her best-friend was now being adored by him. They were sitting over a bench outside the city borders, where they had arrived to look for a site. It was purely for business. But on their way back, the carriage broke down and it was getting late, so they decided to stay back in one of the motels funded by royal family.

The motel owner had seen Calista for the second time, first being after her birth when he was invited by the royals to attend a feast arranged for her first birthday. She had grown up to be a fine woman. He was a vampire too, but his nostrils caught the human smell of Leevon. Sensing that Calista adored this human, he got himself busier with his works and left the couple to have some privacy.

"Mother is back." Calista informed Leevon, who had been opening the cookies packed by his house maid, in case he felt hungry on the way. Such a humane thing! Calista thought.

"Oh, so that is the reason for your nagging. That's why you wanted to go back so soon." Leevon teased her forwarding one of the corn flour cookies towards her. She sniffed the scent and had it.

"Hmm.." she responded biting it. "I missed her a lot. It's been months since I had seen her."

"I remember you told me that she stayed back because your grandfather was not doing well. How's he?" Leevon questioned easing up the conversation.

"He is fit and fine. Plus, he loves mother so much that he always finds ways to hold her back." She replied chuckling and letting out a low and warm laughter. In that process, some tiny chunks of cookie got struck over her lips. The sun was still up. It was early in the evening. Her angelic face looked prettier under that dim sun-light. Although she was a vampire and restrained being in sun-light, but a dim one didn't do any harm.

Leevon felt the urge to kiss her. Without thinking anything, he landed his lips over hers and licked the cookie chunks biting over her lower lip, earning a faint hiss from her. Feeling proud over the fact, he deepened the kiss only to notice her trying to dominate. Before he could deepen the kiss even further, the horrific flashes and images of him getting killed by her sharp sword found their way back to the inners of his brain, playing like a movie, making him retreat immediately. He jolted again. This happened every time they kissed.

But this time, Calista wasn't going to hold back. She held his collar tightly and took his lips into hers tasting his mouth forcefully. He was taken suddenly and didn't have any time to act or pull back. The images which were blurry always, became clear and clearer with each passing moment until he unwantedly pulled back and looked away.

Her heart shattered, Face saddened and dropped as if lifeless. She wanted to feel him, but he withdrew before her notice, leaving her in a mess. Her rising and falling chest was a proof that she wasn't satisfied at all. She couldn't hold back and almost yelled, "What the hell is your problem, Lee? Don't you find me beautiful enough? Or you don't love me anymore.?"

Her state of mind was clear from the questions she put forward. Leevon had to face these today. He couldn't always divert it. His face was ashen when she mentioned 'You don't love me anymore?' How could she even think of that..! She was his first and last. Never in anyway, he was going to love anyone else or love her lesser. 'He needed to clear this today, or else his relationship would suffer more. He thought to himself.

Moving towards her shivering and messy body, burning in need, he cupped her cheeks- a gesture that always assured her. She blinked her eyelashes at his gesture, feeling relaxed a bit- only a bit. She wondered how she had turned to such a vulnerable vampire- such a human thing. She thought the last words for the second time in a few minutes; both related to him. How this man was affecting her!

"I love you the most, Calista. But I .." He was struggling. He couldn't gather the perfect set of words to let her know what was happening to him every time they kissed, so as not to let her feel bad or something much worse. Finding him struggling, her eyes dilated a bit more than usual. Her vampire instinct was making her restless, she wasn't a very patient girl.

She didn't bother to ask him, rather let him continue. He added stroking her cheeks with his fingertips lightly,

"Actually, whenever we kiss... I keep on having horrible flashes."

"Flashes..! What kind of flashes..!" She was getting restless, her cold palms were being sweaty.

"I saw that you killed me with your sword. It went right through my heart spilling blood everywhere. They.. they used to be very blurred, but today... it.. it was like it happened. Actually happened. I ...." He was having difficult composing the horrible images. He still was not able to let those go. This was proved by his shivering hands, his trembling fingers and stuttering tongue.

"I would never ever do that, Lee." She said that amd hugged him tightly rubbing back making gentle circles. It was soothing to him. He smiled a bit and hugged her back. Only thing keeping him sane was this girl.

"May be you are overworking. You should have some days off work. Or we can go camping at the south-east border. I heard there are blooming Jasmines at night and vast saffron fields too. What say..!?" She tried to divert his mind sensing his numbness. He was way too disturbed. And she could only stroke his muscles for relaxation.

"Hmm, that seems a good idea. But before that, you should spend some time with your mother. After all, she is back after so many days." He replied back breaking off the hug and flipped her nose, earning a soft chuckled from her.

Leevon joined Calista in laughter, but the back of his mind was getting suspicious. He needed to find out what was actually bothering him- sooner... or later.
