Anything For You
Chapter 152

Relatable quote-"I would love you even if I am a dead man, for your love would serve as a flicker of light in my dark grave." Recommended song- Beautifully unfinished by Ella Henderson

"What is it? Is it... about Calista? Veronica, do you where she had gone? Tell me..." Herbew grew restless as the lady confessed that she wasn't here for affectionate and intimate gestures, but something else. Given the need of the situation, he could vaguely guess it was something related to his sister. And Veronica being her best friend, confirmed the thing too.

"Y... yes. I may have an idea where.... Where your muscles are.." Veronica replied in one go, not heeding her words. Hebrew raised one of his brows. He was still bare-bodied, and this was rendering the girl a bit senseless.

"Veronica..., my sister, not my muscles, dear." Hebrew corrected her grabbing his shirt from the right corner of his wardrobe. Veronica heard his tone from far away. It's then she realized that he had been choosing one of the shirts- a cream shirt to be precise, that didn't match with his dusky ashen pants. But he seemed to not pay any attention to all that right now; his hurried actions confirmed this fact.

"I am sorry. I mean Calista." She bowed again.

"Spare the bows and formalities. We can do this later. Quick, tell me what you know." Hebrew insisted her to speak as fast as she could, while he was pacing in the room collecting all his things, like putting on the armor, and tucking his sword in the sheath, tied to his waist.

"Calista must be with Leevon." Veronica made her point, letting Herbew guess where this conversation was heading to.

"Oh, I know that. But exactly where? We have been searching for her since five long hours, and there isn't a single trace of hers." The man replied trying his shoelaces.

Veronica's heart missed a beat. She realized the graveness of situation and urged moving to him immediately,

"I am sure she must have consumed Mimica herb to mask her scent. You must hurry. There is a place she and Leevon used to see each other." She spilled the last sentence without paying attention that Hebrew had narrowed his eyes. "You knew this?" He questioned her, his fingers still working with his clothes.

"Yes, she told me that she love him. And he loved her too. But this is not the time to discuss all these things. There is a road that takes you at the northeastern end of Roxflood kingdom. There lies a cliff, the only place where moon appeared to be bigger in size than the whole of kingdom. They used to meet there. I... I am sure, she will be there only."

Hebrew looked at her, and responded coldly,

"Well then, I must hurry up."

"Herbew... take me with you. I can..." Veronica was hushed midway when Herbew denied her request saying,

"Stay here with mother. We will talk about this later. I will be back with Calista."

He left the room at vampire speed, giving her no time to say anything. Yet she mumbled at his back,

"Take care of yourself and don't hurt anyone, Your Majesty."

"You said you lov... loved me, Lee..." Calista was uttering those words merely as a whisper. She was lying in his arms in her pool of blood. It never stopped gushing. She was engrossed in his betrayal that she even failed to notice that her oozing blood wasn't happening to stop at any moment even though she was a vampire.

"I had to do it. I had to free you, Cal." Leevon had difficulty saying such words. He had already harmed her, stabbed her, betrayed her trust and love. He thought there was no room for his explanation, and he didn't intend to offer her any.

His hand slowly crawled back to her heart. The organ seemed to slow down a bit. Leevon pressed harder over her stab, earning a fair share of sky-piercing cries from the girl. He didn't intend to make her suffer more than he already did. He just wanted to slow down the bleeding to warn more time, to look at her properly, to love her a bit more, to care for her a bit more, to adore her a bit more; for the last time.

"Why?? You didn't need to kill me for anything. Did you... (cough cough)... did you not love me! Did I not love you enough for you to trust... me with something... that... had been... bothering you?" Her questions were still unanswered, and Leevon didn't wish to grant her any acknowledgments.

He simply nodded his head as a no,

"You loved me, more than anything. I love you, and I will continue doing so, till I am a dead man."

"I don't blame you for anything." Calista mumbled the words softly, her breaths giving up on her, and her heart slowing down like a broken machine not able to operate any longer, and her eyes turned drowsy.

Her princess appearance was no longer lingering to her angelic face, instead was replaced by paleness, and betrayal. Lee on gripped her even more hard, pulling her as closer that he could feel her extravagantly cold, and hindered breaths over his neck. With Calista's lips as pale as a staple fruit peel, she managed to utter the last set of words with a sheer trouble.

"Lee, can I kiss you for the last time?"

It was because she was just close to his ear that he heard her request and understood her words. Had she been a little away from him, he wouldn't have succeeded in listening to those whispers and whimpers.

Rather than saying anything, he just nodded his head and in the process, his head moved brushing the girl's cold lips over his humane-ly warm skin.

Though her life was tied to a loose thread, she still wanted to try once. She was a princess, and didn't intend to give up so easily on the man she loved dearly.

With Leevon supporting her head, she barely was able to lift up herself. He managed to lean down with her in his arms, and pecked her cold blue lips gently, as if she was a porcelain doll and any little amount of pressure would break her into pieces; he wouldn't afford to collect again.

Unlike him, Calista didn't have any intentions of letting him go that easily. Just when he was about to back away, she kissed him roughly, and bit his lower lip with every piece of strength. The metallic taste of blood enriched her tongue, fading away some percentage of drowsiness she had been feeling due to his stabbing stunt.

With eyes widened of shock, Leevon stroked her hair softly, and gave in. Her kiss was never like before. It carried all the emotions she harbored for him. It was a kiss of love, passion, betrayal, belongingness and authority.

The blood kept on dripping from his lip, and flowing down her throat, making her sane enough to choose and decide as to what she wanted before she bid a good-bye to this world. Soon, her recollected strength gave away and she let go of his lips; the latter swollen after her t*****e.

She indeed was a vampire, or else who would kiss like that in her last times. Managing to have some distance between them, Leevon looked at the girl with her eyebrows crunched tightly, because if the pain he caused her. The unruly tears that he managed to push back into his eyes, took charge and rolled down his eyes once again.

Anyone could tell that he was grieving, and maybe regretting the choice he made. But did her really have any choices? For him, Fate was a cruel thing. He considered himself the poorest man, for he found true love and killed it with his own hands. "Lee, I want to say something." Calista's whimpers brought him back from his cause world, where he was the culprit and a judge too. But her words were inaudible.

With care, he pulled her up and bent down at the same time to bring her lips closer to his ears, to hear her properly.

"Lee, I want to tell you that... I love you. I would never give up on you. No matter what you have done, or... what was the reason...." She forcefully wrapped her arms around his neck to gain more support, and he let her.

Leevon decided not to say anything. He wanted to remember her voice for the rest of his life; if he was going to lead any; peacefully. Calista continued,

"Lee, you are mine. I have been... a princess all my life, but you... made me a woman, and I am a woman... who would want you in my next life. I don't know whether I can forgive you... or not, but I will not let this betrayal tear us apart."

Before the man could understand or react to her words, Calista inserted her fangs deep into the crook of his neck, and started to suck his blood. It took Leevon a moment to realize what she had been trying to do. He felt a sharp pain in his neck, and hissed in response.

away.

Her sharp fangs had already bored deep into his neck, and she had marked him. The mark of a vampire. Leevon tried to push her away, but she had been enjoying the taste of metallic blood in her mouth. Soon, her wound caused another sharp pain and she gave Her fangs retracted back and her eyes turned back to their gunmetal blue shades from the vampire red. Leevon wished to question her for this choice. Suddenly, all her words made sense. The girl drifted into endless sleep whispering, "Mate.... I will... find you soon...."
