Anything For You
Chapter 155

~SIESTA VALLEY-

"Ahhhh... What should I do? I don't see any pathway now. It's getting more puzzling day by day. It has been two days since Scarlet is in a deeply senseless state, and... I... I am still lurking in this castle. It's not done.... It's not done at all. I need to find a way out of this." Dankein was yelling on top of his voice sending the shivers down the spines of all those guarding outside his room.

It had been two days and he still was repeating the same sentences over and again. His plans to convince Scarlet had failed and now he couldn't think straight. All he could do now was yell and punish the servants.

Poor male servants were his pray. In these past two days, he had already beheaded twelve of them for lame reasons: not giving him warm coffee, not informing him about his dear cat's sleep and eat time, and many more like that.

While the maids also did not have any luxurious lives like they had in the past. Since he came back from the party of werewolf Alpha Emerald, he had been shouting and behaving maniacally with everyone.

Just two hours ago, Dankein had ordered for a maid to be put in a dungeon for three days with the rare huge rats only found in Siesta Valley, with no lights and food, because she tried to relax him by trying to seduce him. He pushed her aside saying, "Keep your filthy hands off me. I have preserved myself for my Scarlet. Only she has the right to touch me now." And the poor maid suffered. Her pathetic cries and whimpers had been haunting the other criminals in adjacent cells.

No ministers were able to reach him. He didn't even have any friends. All he had was just his Cat. Right now, he was blood-thirsty and was trying to talk with that animal, who was looking at him with a sigh written all over its face.

The cat after starting at his master's face for quite a time jumped down from its little bed and tip-toed towards his legs. It snuggled within his legs, softly caressing them with its fur, and started to wave its tail.

The cat was trying to console him and let him know that everything would be fine by the end of the day. It knew that master was agitated now and only the cat herself could relax him for the time being. Dankein when found the cat trying to snuggle in his legs, relaxed a bit. But he was still over-angered and heated.

"Alfie, stop it. You can't help me this time."

Dankein's words made the cat, Alfie saddened and she lowered down her head, along with tucking her tail in between her legs letting a low painful sound of 'Meow! Whenever Dankein was hurt or pained, Alfie used to snuggle him. He never scolded her like this. Watching the animal still lingering around him; saddened, he stopped down to its level and picked it up in his arms lovingly. Stroking its fur, he started to massage her back gently to which the cat responded almost instantly as if waiting for him to do it. "Alfie, I have been trying so hard for ages. Yet every time, I fail. You know... I almost succeeded that day, but she just fainted. I couldn't even see her properly. I feel... like she is in front of me, but still thousands of kilometers away. What can I do, Alfie?" His tone was vulnerable, showcasing him as a sad and tired person. His cat had been the only closed one who had seen him that much of vulnerable.

Alfie snuggled into his arms more and meow-ed again. Whenever she did it, she had better plans to calm him down. It was a hideous thing to the whole world around him that his cat possessed telecommunication powers and could talk like humans in her mind. Even when she meow-ed, it would mean something. Only Dankein was able to decipher her words.

When the cat snuggled closer, she said,

"Don't worry, master. Everything will be alright. And, regarding this matter, only one person can help you..."

Dankein narrowed his eyes and looked at her. His hands stroking her back fur stopped in their actions and he saw through her shining cat eyes. It was something. She genuinely had an idea about this.

"Who is that?" Dankein questioned Alfie in his humane dialect and the cat wailed its tail, starting towards the door of the other room. Dankein when followed her line of sight, found himself staring at the room where he first threatened the leader of Dark Souls, Silvan.

He gazed at the door for a bit longer and reverted to the cat, Alfie who had been rolling in his arms shedding the soft fur all over on his expensive silk coat, but he didn't care about that.

"Alfie, are you suggesting Silvan?" Dankein was curious. Although he understood Alfie's gesture, yet he wanted to be sure about it. This time was utterly difficult for him, and he didn't dare to fail again.

The cat arose her ears slightly and again meow-ed; nodding its head as a yes.

"Alfie, are you sure about this? Tell me what have you seen?" Dankein wasn't convinced when Alfie nodded her head confirming his suspicion that this animal was telling him to consider getting help from Silvan; not to mention he didn't like that stupid Dark Soul Leader.

Alfie could sometimes see the future as visions. Hence, Dank wanted to be certain. But the cat again nodded its head, and Dankein called in a guard instantly.

"Go to the lowermost room of our castle and send a message to the leader of Dark Souls that King Dankein Cosh has summoned him... right away." The guard shrieked in fear. Poor human had been aware of the mess and deaths caused in the hands of those Dark Souls and he had even heard of the tales of them killing innocents just to claim a body.

The human guard kept sticking to his place in a way that his feet were glued to the ground. He was calculating the probability of his death in the hands of his master if he didn't follow his orders. Dankein noticed through his nervousness, "Worry not. Just maintain a five feet distance from the door and shout out the orders from there. Also, tell them it's an order from the king to not harm even a single person on his way to my meeting room, or else he won't be benefited." As the guard heard Dankein say those words, he felt like his soul returned to his body and he could feel his blood flowing. A little easiness crept through his being and he bowed a longbow before leaving the room to fulfill the commands. The cat Alfie just sighed over something only she knew.

The human guard dressed in royal clothes was pacing slowly, taking baby steps towards the lowermost rooms of the castle. He had never been to this section of the castle. He was shaking and frightened, anxious to save his little life that had been put at an immense risk by his king, and poor him couldn't even say no.

Witnessing the dark alley going even more down from there, he sensed that there was the room he had to go to for delivering the king's message to Silvan. Tip-toeing, the guard looked downstairs only to find a hidden way out, without even a single source of light to illuminate his pathway.

He fetched a burning fire piece from the sideways stand to See some of the old and broken stairs going downwards and leading into a series of dark rooms.

Moving slowly, he used the fire piece to see clearly and then walked on the stairs. Every step down that path was making him more prone to the dangerous lord of Dark Souls resting in there. He wondered over that fact that why didn't Silvan free himself out of this dungeon section of the castle, and instead chose to stay with his gang of Dark Souls under the commands of his king.

All sorts of hideous and ragged thoughts flashed over his mind and he could see himself being trapped in the hands of death. He didn't even realize that the stairs had finished a long way ago, and he was now walking over the stony path covered with some mud. Sharp noises and voices could be heard inside the alley, which he deciphered to be belonging to those Dark souls. His movements were adding to the creepy noises for this section of the castle had walls built in such a way that every little movement echoed in the whole of that corridor.

Suddenly, all the whispers and noises stopped. He could feel the breaths on his neck, making him go astray. He had been warned by some of the fellow guards not to make any sharp noises in the Dark Souls Alley, or else they won't hesitate to take over him. The guard suppressed his urge to scream out of panic.

He turned to find someone behind him, but in vain. Abruptly, there was heard a sharp female voice in that sheer darkness,

"Look there.... It's a human. It seems that our Lord Silvan had negotiated with King Cosh, and he has sent this human for us to take over." Her words were full of mockery and disgust.

The guard couldn't see anyone, but he was aware of the direction that sound was coming from. It took him some moments to realize that it was someone from the Dark Souls. The choosing walls made it difficult to locate the exact source.

"But he is pathetic." Another voice followed hers and this one belonged to a male. The guard became silent and kept on moving to that last corner of that dark Alley. He stopped in his tracks when he heard someone warning him, "Watch out boy, it's not a place for you to pee."

The guard gulped his saliva, and his hands trembled. Soon, he saw dark clouds hovering around him and smoke took over his visions accompanied by loud and sarcastic laughter. He was so terrified that the only thing keeping him sane: the fire piece, which fell over his hand, and darkness...sheer darkness took over everything.

"I... I have a message for you, Lord Silvan." The guard knew he could be dead any moment. But he was certain that if he failed to deliver the message of Dankein, the latter would make him alive and kill him again mercilessly. "Shoot.." The dark clouds ordered.

"The King....has...has ordered you to meet him in the merging room...right....right away. And... and mentioned... that I should be returning to.....my post...un...unharmed." He felt relieved a bit when he let put the words and Silvan, who had been the dark cloud stepped away from him.

The fireplace lit again and was now floating mid-air.

"Hold it, Human. You need it to go back." Silvan said from behind his back, terrifying him further. Just as the guard grabbed that fire-piece, Silvan whispered blowing air in his ears, "Now...run for your life."
