Anything For You -
Chapter 166
Wielding all the strength in her body, Empress tried to stop Silvan. The loud screaming voice of hers was deafening while her claws started to appear over her fingers. Silva was a Dark Soul, and he had sucked every creature in the world. But for now, he was in the human body and was restraining himself. His body and soul had connected and now he was able to use all his dark powers, but if it could be done without many efforts, one didn't need to press harder. Looking at the raged Empress, he glanced at her facial features in detail, really appreciating it. But you see, it's not going to help you at all. So, now without wasting any more time... you... tell me everything in a jiff or I have my ways...which you...perhaps won't like." Silva sneered sarcastically with a peal of laughter.
"I told you, I don't know anything. I don't know what the hell you are talking about." Grand Empress jeered.
"Alright then, you asked for it," Silvan interjected and attacked the lady without giving her any time to dodge the attack, and she felt her being getting drowned in that mental image. All she could see was darkness everywhere, and all she could hear was Silvan talking.
"Now, Empress... we are in your brain. I think that it will be easier for me, but painful for you. So, just sit tight and let me find everything I am looking for." Silvan focused and got to know what he needed to find in her mind. He was trying to look about Scarlet and Emerald, or anything that Empress did in the recent few days to protect them as per Dankein's orders, but even after looking for so long, all he could get was....nothing.
Tired and dreaded, he released the old lady from that mental image, and she fell on her knees, all haggard, to red, confused, and bamboozled. She was hopelessly clueless about what just happened and in no time, she drifted into an unconscious state. "What the hell? It's just nothing here!" Silvan raged and shouted aloud. His hands clutched his hair tightly almost plucking them out of the roots. He had never been so much raged in his life ever. This old woman was adamant about giving him a hard time. He cursed the time when he promised Dankein his help.
Gesturing Nexus who had been cornered at the door entrance, he told him to look for any signs of anyone present nearby.
"Lookout. Find anyone else. I know she had several maids. One of them must know something, Nexus. We can't leave empty-handed."
Nexus nodded and felt bad for the poor old Empress, but he was aware that she wasn't someone to be pitied. She was a tigress, a wolf. She was a wounded one and would surely attack if given any chances.
Using his powers, Nexus let his gaze roam here and there in the castle and found nothing. "All the maids are asleep, My Lord. I don't think anyone is aware of anything. We can't possibly stay here and interrogate her. It will put us at risk. I think we..." Silvan raised one of his hand's mid-air and Nexus stopped in whatsoever he was saying. Silvan nodded and looked at the Empress who was still darting her old eyes at his figure as if ready to kill him. Then and there. Without mercy. L
......
It's been almost an hour and Carol was running tirelessly with that necklace clutched tightly in her hands into the woods. As she left the castle, she didn't dare to turn and look back. She was heavily convincing her mind that her lady would be fine. 'She is an Empress, she is a fighter. She will be fine. Nothing will happen to her. My lady, don't worry. Just hold on, I will bring king and prince to rescue you. Just hold on. She kept saying that to her whole self, but the pool of tears never left her eyes. Suddenly, her ears caught a roar of the Leopard. The animal roared like it was hungry for decades and was going to devour anything that crossed its way. The more she was moving ahead, the louder the roar was getting confirming her suspicion that she was in the animal's pathway. Her heart raced and started to pang more loudly in her chest as if it was going to break all the ribs and be expelled.
Dawn Mountain Leopards we're known to be the most ferocious hunters. Only the royals could handle them, and she was not one of the royals for sure. If she happened to cross her way with that thing, she would be a dead one in no time. Recalling all her Gods in a split second, she halted in her tracks and calmed her racing nerves to listen to all the noises and sounds. Slowly, her ears caught another sound and this was of flowing water. It was the stream that flowed down from Dawn Mountains to Azure Clan. It meant that if she succeeded in getting to the river, she would end up in the Azure clan in some good hours.
Paying awareness to the sound of flowing water, she headed in that direction. As she progressed, the roars of Leopards got muffled, vanishing into the woods and the burbling of that stream got louder and louder accompanied by some pitter-patter, which indicated that it was drizzling. But facing the stream, Carol came across not only the speedy water that had all the powers to take her life even more mercilessly than a leopard could have but also a strong downpour making it even more difficult.
Peeping here and there, she hoped to find any boats or rafts to travel but found none. The sun was down for almost four-five hours by now. Her mind wandered back to the castle, to her lady, and the thought of going back and checking on her ventured. But then her gaze landed over that necklace and the shining central bead making her remember the orders of her Empress.
Her eyes moved up to find the half-moon in the night sky getting blurred now and then and to the flowing stream plus that heavy downpour. Everything was able to kill her, but she was determined. If she waited for any boats or rafts, she would never make it to the Azure clan, and this would mean letting her Empress die for nothing.
Putting up with slow and staggering steps, she crouched down to that stream which had now turned into a life-eating river flowing above the danger signs and touched that water.
"Aish... Freezing.." The words left her lips unknowingly and she retracted her cold frozen fingers tucking them into her abdomen for getting some warmth to feel them again. Hauling up, she gave another glance at everything around her and secured the necklace around her waist in her headscarf tightly giving it several knots. Without any second thoughts, she jumped into that ice-cold water awaiting her fate.
~DESTINY LAND~
"Sister, what is happening? I thought that the old Empress is invincible, but looks like age has taken the best of her. She looks defeated." Choice asked her sister Destiny who just smiled.
"Keep looking. The Empress is acting as a pawn. She isn't someone who would be tamed so easily."
Choice didn't understand her sister's words but nodded anyway.
