Chapter 178

"Have you seen Scarlet? I didn't see her entering the university gate today. It's almost the time for her class and she is still nowhere to be seen." Chris said pacing back and forth questioning Eva and Jenny while Tina and Tom were busy finishing the last-time

assignment. All of them were in the same class except Chris who had opted for business instead of English.

He had been busy the past few days in his father's company as he had partially taken over. The contracts and all the stuff had been keeping him insanely occupied that he barely got the time to make it to class sometimes. Hoping to see Scarlet after a lot of days, he rushed into her class but disappointment welcomed him instead of not finding the girl there.

Eva and Jenny exchanged glances and Jenny immediately fetched her cell phone from the side pocket of her jogger and dialed Scarlet's number putting it on speaker. Even after the continuous five-seven rings, nobody picked up letting these three people know that the girl would surely not be attending today. Lines of worry started forming over Chris' forehead and he looked at Eva for a soothing answer as to why was Scarlet absent again, but he got none.

"Don't worry, Chris. I will go to her after the classes and then we will have a group party in the evening at her house. It will be a punishment for that dumb girl for ditching us all." Eva patted Chris' shoulder and winked at him playfully making him smile and nod. The bell rang and everybody occupied their seats while Chris left for his lectures.

Soon, the teacher stepped in and all the girls gasped for air. The handsome and hot guy was none other than Dankein Cosh, hashtag; their new professor. Eva eyed him from head to toe and found Jenny unmoved. She elbowed Jenny and the girl looked at Eva with a questioning gaze only to find the latter rolling her eyes disbelievingly. Jenny was Jenny. She was always clear on one thing, and that was... no flirting with any professor, not at all, never.

Dankein looked at those drooling faces and hoped to find the familiar faces when his eyes stopped at Eva and he smiled faintly. Assuming Scarlet to be there, he looked again but found none. Clearing his throat, he started taking the roll calls when someone knocked at the door seeking permission to enter.

A boy!

"He looks damn hot! Just like the professor." The blonde girl sitting behind Jenny said out loud; enough for her to overhear and Jenny whipped her head...first at the girl and then at the boy. Oh man, hot chic. This was the first thought in her mind. Dankein gestured him to enter and the boy handed over his admission paper to him after he was allowed to take a seat.

The boy looked here and there to find a comfortable spot, hoping for someone, especially Scarlet to be there. But the girl was nowhere and he instead occupied a spot beside Jenny who had been sitting next to Eva. Eva recognized the boy immediately and whispered,

"Jack! What are you doing here man?"

Jenny being the middle man in them darted her surprised eyes at Eva who appeared nonchalant and continued talking to Jack.

"Yes, Al...I mean Mr. Azure told me that it is a good University and so I migrated here. I will be attending the same classes from today onwards." He smiled softly and Jenny happened to look at him at the same time diving deeper into his addictive smile. Something started to cook in her mind and Eva could read it.

Pinching Jenny's waist, Eva introduced Jack,

"Jack, this is Jenny. My friend, and Scarlet's friend too. And the ones sitting over there...(pointing at Tom and Tina over the other bench, who waved their hands with soft welcoming smiles)... are Tom and Tina. We all are childhood friends." Jack waved his hand to the duo and forwarded his hand to Jenny, who took it hesitatingly. The moment their fingers interlaced....she lost her mind and inhaled his manly cologne.

Jack narrowed his eyes at Jenny's behavior and retracted his hand almost instantly finding the girl getting sad over this.

"The professor is just about to start." He said hoping to make the girl feel comfortable about the move he just made and wondered, 'Where are you, Luna?'

-LOZENGE HOUSE-

It was almost 4 p.m. and Scarlet was still lying over the floor in the same posture. Mr. And Mrs. Lozenge assumed her leaving early and didn't check in the room. She happened to be alone in the house. A strange flicker of different lights was radiating from her body. Slowly, she regained consciousness and touched her head; hurting with throbbing pain.

Using the floor as a support, she hauled up from the ground and stood straight facing the mirror. Realizing that she was still in her bra and the same shorts, she had been wearing in the morning...Scarlet took slow and staggering steps towards the window only to comprehend that it was now evening and she had fainted for almost 9 hours.

Strange!!

She didn't remember what happened. Just that she tried the necklace and fainted. Recalling the necklace, Scarlet looked for it and it was still there over the ground. Approaching it, she collected it in her palms and checked for any damages. Finding none, she felt relieved, but...something was different. The beads didn't shine any longer. The yellow shine was nowhere in the bead.

Her eyes caught the attention of the huge wall mirror in from t of her. When her eyes met with the figure's in the mirror, she found her eyes glowing; one yellow and the other purple. Sharing her head, she again looked at her eyes, and this time even more closely, and found nothing odd. The original pupil color was there.

"What the hell is happening to me?" Just then, she heard the doorbell and her phone started buzzing. Grabbing the instrument from her bed, she found the called id displayed as 'Eva, the flirty', she smiled and answered only to find the girl shouting over the other side. "You bitch, you left us alone. I am outside your house. Better open right now."

"Coming...." Scarlet shouted from upstairs and ran down in whatsoever she had been wearing. Opening the door with one hand and stuffing the phone in the pocket of her shorts, she stood in front of who she was supposed to be Eva... in her bra and shorts, and heard Tom whistling instead. "What the heck? Are you not having any clothes?" Eva shouted and Jenny scoffed finding Jack looking at Scarlet wide-eyed. Jealous! She was! She didn't know. Scarlet turned her back at the people standing exposing even more of the white skin. While Jenny, Eva, and Tina were just wondering what the girl was doing! Jack was wide-eyed and horrified thinking about the consequences of him telling his Alpha about this little stunt by his Luna and being watched by everyone, Tom grinned, and Chris was having a hard time...all at the same time. Flying upstairs, Scarlet yelled,

"I will be back. Make yourselves comfortable." Everyone stepped in and Tina entered the kitchen grabbing the pasta Mrs. Lozenge cooked in the morning, plated it after heating it in the oven, and started eating.

"Glutton." Tom sneered looking at Tina, who just scoffed and continued. The phone in Jack's pocket rang and his expressions paled looking at the person calling.

"Hey Jack, why are you looking like you have peed in your pants? Is it your girlfriend calling?" Tom joked and everyone laughed except Eva, who knew the caller. Jack found nothing to say. Of course, how could he tell them about the Alpha, Luna, and werewolf stuff? Finding him struggling hard, Eva stopped in and replied,

"It's his brother. He is way too strict. Right, Jack?" She whipped her head tilting it to all forty-five degrees on the left side looking at Jack from one side of her eye, making the others feel as if she was teasing him. Jack complied and excuses himself. Everybody got themselves busier and Chris kept looking upstairs.

Jack was on the phone when he found the kind of gaze Chris was having for Scarlet murmuring,

"I guess the biggest threat is this boy."

"What's his name, Jack?" Emerald asked from the other side and Jack caused himself in his mind.
