Anything For You
Chapter 177

"You should rest more, aunty Carol. I and brother will handle everything. We will find out Grandmother and then I will feed those attackers to the warrior wolves." Hammer said assuring Carol who had been grown impatient after she was awake and continued "Yes, you just need to tell us everything, Aunty Carol. Every little detail that you somehow remember from that night will do us great help." Emerald said holding her hand softly.

persisting to go to the Mountain castle to wait for Empress in case the latter arrived.

Carol was still reconsidering everything. She although told Emerald about that night, but not everything. She wasn't sure about anything she had heard. And she wasn't convinced about the fact that Emerald wouldn't dare to punish her for the lunatic move she had made that day by suggesting the old couple to not be mates any longer and took away the 'Mate Mark' from Grand Empress.

Her eyes were blank and she was just looking at Emerald and Sammer switching. Hammer got the impression that Carol was frightened over something and gestured Emerald to the sidewalk. Emerald let Carol rest for a while and the brothers walked out of the room. "Brother, I guess she is frightened. She was looking at you with uncertainty as if she was afraid to say something to you. Why don't you let me try for once? Maybe I can convince her. She is a good lady. I am certain if she is fear-strike, it must have something to do with Grandma." Summer suggested and Emerald nodded just immediately. This time was crucial and he didn't want to take any chances. All she wanted was his Grandmother to be alive and with them.

Hammer entered the room and secured the door lock. Carol peeked under the blanket she had draped around her. Hearing the familiar sound of approaching footsteps, she looked at the man standing ahead of her and headed a sigh of relief. "Prince Sammer!" Carol was contemplating things when Sammer initiated the conversation,

"Aunty Carol, Brother told me everything you told him about that horrible night. I can't thank you enough for what you have done. You risked your life for coming here. I know you care the most about Grandma, but she is missing now. Father said that he isn't able to establish any kind of contact with her. We don't even know if she is alive or..." Sammer paused for a second and sighed deeply continuing,

"If you know anything else, please tell us. It may be our only chance to save Grandma. She needs us. She needs our help, aunty Carol." The more Sammer said those words, the more panic started taking over Carol's being and she just admitted,

"Empress told me to save Scarlet. She is going to be in grave danger because of something I gave her on behalf of Empress. I don't know much about that...only Scarlet can tell you more. But...she isn't aware of that fact."

"what fact, aunty Carol? What are you talking about?" Sammer was hell confused with whatever Carol just said and narrowed his eyes sharply at her. "Aunty Carol, this time I am asking you not being a child who used to play with you but as the younger prince of Werewolf Azure Clan. Tell me, what are you hiding?"

Carol was horrified when Sammer's soft sweet tone changed to something she presumed as harsh. She wouldn't dare to hide anything g anymore. Not caring about the consequences, she blurted out,

"Scarlet has the 'Mate Crystal'. I don't know anything else. The Empress ordered me to deliver it to her, so I did. All I know is that 'Mate Crustal' can change everything. But her life is in danger because of that." She glued her lips as soon as she said those words and Sammer scoffed hard. Moving fast, he exited the room slamming the door with a lot of this. He was damn pissed. ~LOZENGE HOUSE~

"Scarlet, what happened? You look a bit upset! Did something happen with Emerald!" Scarlet's mother tried to enquire about her daughter's strange behavior because she was witnessing that the girl was not eating anything and was just poking the contents with her fork engrossed in deep thoughts.

"Nothing mom. Everything is fine. I was thinking about the assignments." Scarlet lied. She knew if she dared to let her mother know the truth, she would go astray worrying over nothing. She thought of figuring out everything on her own.

Mrs. Lozenge was about to ask something else when both the ladies heard the doorbell. "Who could be at this hour? Are you expecting someone?" Mrs. Lozenge questioned Scarlet arranging the leftover dishes over the table waiting for her husband to arrive and join. He has been on an urgent call with a patient.

Scarlet denied and darted her eyes at the door from her seat. She saw Jack from behind the door. Pretty shaken up, she rubbed her eyes and saw nothing but the closed door. Focusing on the food, she took a bite of the sandwiches stuffed with ham and cheese, when Jack stepped in and bowed in front of her,

"Good morning, Luna," making her choke over the food. Her stupefied face made Jack anxious if that was a good decision to knock in this early! But the girl composed her wits, grabbed a napkin from the table, wiped her mouth off the sandwich crumbs, and sipped the juice asking,

"Jack! What are you doing here so early in the morning? It's barely 7 a.m. Wait, did Emerald find...!" She was halfway in her question when Jack shook his head in denial letter g her know before even she could ask anything. Raising her eyebrow suspiciously, she put down the sandwich and sat cross-armed.

"Alp...I mean Mr. Emerald Azure sent me here for you. He said you are alone and you skipped many classes. In case you need any helps, he sent me for that." Jack was about to address Emerald as Alpha when he saw Mrs. Lozenge looking at them and twisted the conversation. The day looked suspicious, but after hearing him...she relaxed and continued her chores urging Jack to join in for breakfast.

"No, thank you, Mrs. Lozenge. But I need to be somewhere else for a business meeting. I can't be late. It was nice meeting you. I will see you on the campus, Lu...Scarlet." Jack left immediately after reporting letting the ladies wonder about his exact reason for coming here.

After his departure, Scarlet finished her breakfast and rushed to her room. Securing the door, she jumped at the bed and fetched that necklace from her backpack looking at it quite carefully. Since the day she was given this jewel piece, she had been suffering from nightmares where she couldn't recognize herself or other people.

The dreams scared all her wits but after every dream, she came across this shining necklace and the urge to put it around her neck just once became more strong that she ended up getting up, sweating, and looking for it. After yesterday's encounter with Dankein, she was certain that he had been a known personality, but couldn't remember him.

The dream was quite blurry. All she could emphasize was that she saw the man Dankein in her dream dressed as someone else trying to approach her calling her weird names; she barely recollected now.

The necklace started shining again driving her attention towards the central crystal which looked like an oval piece of some obsidian or ruby; she wasn't certain of. The alluring shine kept on dragging her towards itself and before she could realize it, her fingers were already brushing over it.

Then urge to put it across her slender neck became a challenge that Scarlet so desperately wanted to win. Approaching the mirror, Scarlet discarded her long loose, pale red checkered boyfriend shirt that she had put on after a shower for University paired with black hot pants which covered her tightly and highlighted those insane curves leaving nothing but the red lacy bra covering her firm tight boobs exposing that slender long neck.

If by chance, Emerald would have been here, she would have already started screaming his name in pleasure. Just the thought of Emerald touching her bare skin gave her goosebumps and a stain of flustered red over her cheeks. Shrugging off those nasty thoughts, Scarlet focused over that piece of jewel and the shining central oval bead. Wasting no more time, she draped the necklace around her neck and caressed the shining bead softly.

She was still admiring her beauty in the mirror when the shining bead went dull and the power went off leaving the girl standing alone in the darkness. As she was about to step ahead looking for her cell phone or a torch, the shine of that bead returned and radiating dazzling yellow light strong enough to blind her getting reflected from the mirror.

The shine got absorbed in the girl's body and the bead returned to its normal dull state looking like a piece of mere jewelry; not to mention an old one. Before Scarlet could understand anything, she felt herself drifting into a land of nothingness and she blacked out over the floor.

-DESTINY LAND~

"Sister, what was that? What just happened? Is she okay? She blacked out again...!" Choice hauled up from her place and asked Destiny shaking her arms anxiously.

Destiny first looked at unconscious Scarlet, sighed, and then at her worried little sister, "There is no going back now." Choice contorted her face not understanding anything and switching her gazes between her sister and the girl lying flat over the floor diving deeper and deeper into someplace...nobody was aware of.
