I am going out of ideas and time. I can't waste any more time. I need to have her." Dankein almost shouted but his tone was a whisper. He lost it when Silvan asked him about how was it going with Scarlet. Silvan wasn't aware of why Dankein was here for Scarlet and what he wanted to do with her. But the way Dankein shouted; he presumed it be damn important as the king would never have left his kingdom for some petty matter.

"I can be of some help if you desire. Be confident and share it with me." Silvan suggested. Dankein gave it a thought. He could no longer go back and do something. Although he had powers, every time he tried to use them for getting closer to Scarlet, something strong stopped him; something dark. He gave it a thought and agreed only because Silvan was the leader of Dark Souls.

"I need her skin," Dankein announced looking in the other direction as if he had mentally peeled Scarlet just now. Reading his pained expressions, Silvan grinned,

"Looks like it's not something dark in your way, but your emotions. You like that human, don't you?" He asked with a smug smile.

"That is none of your business. Subjects font question Kings." Dankein said or warned. Silvan shrugged and raised his hands as a gesture of surrender blurting, "I am not your subject, King."

"You may not be, but the body that you are renting is still under my jurisdiction. Remember?" Dankein said with a boast-y and proud face as if he had done something remarkable and his sinister smile widened even more witnessing the change of expressions over Silvan's face.

"Fine, tell me what exactly do you need?" Silvan asked. He was no longer the one to command. He had put forth the idea of helping and now he had to do it. All because of this Timothy's body who had sworn himself for the service of his King throughout his whole life. Mentally, he cursed Timothy for that.

"I want her skin without hurting her, AND... without letting her acknowledge it. She needs to shift for that. I need her Mermaid skin, not the human one." Dankein briefed in just a sentence and let Silvan absorb what he just said. The Dark emotion over Silvan's face contoured it even more and his eyes widened in shock. But Nexus, who had been just arrived and happened to overhear the duo's conversation asked on behalf of Silvan,

"She...she is a Mermaid! Goodness, how many more kinds do we have to encounter? Her friends are creatures too?? That Eva, Chris, Jenny etcetera..??"

"No. Only she is." Dankein admitted as if it wasn't a big deal. Silvan looked at shock-ridden Nexus and then switched his surprised gaze at Dankein to blurt out,

"Are mermaids even real? I mean still..!!" Dankein just nodded and Silvan rubbed his temples thinking why he had to put himself on the platter for this!

"I am also in a human body now. I won't do the peeling. But I will make her shift. You will do the peeling." Silvan said poking a finger at Dankein's hard chest and the man just agreed taking a hold of Silvan's poking finger and to throw his hand away just like he was plagued. Silvan contoured his face more horribly, and Nexus just giggled behind him.

"No, no, no,...it's not the same. It was something else, father. It was something I had never seen in her eyes. She is a Mermaid, I know. But I haven't ever witnessed something like that. It was so powerful that I felt myself hypnotized when I looked into her eyes. It's it's..." Emerald was trying to tell his father what he had encountered when he met Scarlet last week. He had engrossed himself into finding out what it was but so far, he got nothing.

Jasper patted Emerald's shoulder and sighed deeply, "If mother was with us, she would have probably figured out the matter. But now, we are running out of options. I just hope wherever she is...she safe."

Emerald spared his father a sorry look. He had completely forgotten about his Grandmother and was worried over Scarlet's powers. "You are right, father. Right now, we must focus our energy on finding Grandma. I will deal with everything else later." He said and busied himself with some phone calls, but his mind kept on wandering over Scarlet times and again. The situation was the same with King.

"I hope it's nothing to be worried about," Jasper muttered under his tired breaths.

-XYZ, University-

Three days later, Scarlet and Eva had been chit-chatting along with Jenny and Tina when the boys joined them. Tina and Tom never left a chance to bicker with each other. Chris huffed at them,

"I wonder for how long you two will control each other from ripping your heads off!" The others laughed and Tina and Tom peered from the corners of their eyes to each other. "She always finds faults with my girlfriend, despite that the girl is sweet and adorable and has never done anything bad to this crab," Tom muttered and leaned back when Tina marched forward to grip his hairs.

"She is a c**k-sucking bitch. You will know that eventually. But you think with your dick." Eva teased with her familiar grin and Scarlet narrowed her eyes at her over the foul language she just used.

"I wonder if Sammer knows the way you curse people!" Scarlet whispered leaning in her ear and Eva raised eyebrows in response announcing to Scarlet that he does already. Scarlet sighed and turned her gaze to the other side where she found Dankein coming in her direction.

Jack joined the group and sat beside Jenny who immediately drooled over his figure and started to inhale his scent getting intoxicated. Scarlet was still looking at the approaching figure of Dankein when Eva whispered in her ears,

"I wonder for how long Jack will be able to keep it in his pants after those drools over Jenny's face." Scarlet's ears found those ashamed words relatable when her eyes roamed from Dankein to Jack and then to the drooling Jenny. She huffed in her mind. 'Why only the wolves always!' And she realized that she did the same.

Dankein was now towering over the group of people and Chris was the first one to greet him. But the man didn't waste any moments in nice and cheeky conversations with those students and instead rested his eyes over Scarlet.

"Miss. Lozenge, do you mind if we talk? I have something to discuss with you regarding the scholarship program." He had already investigated everything the day he stepped into the university and found that Scarlet wished to win a scholarship and use it to study the weapon designing course along with her regular classes. 'Mermaids are excellent with weapons. He remembered his words in his mind.

The girl hauled up from her seat and nodded. Grabbing her backpack and biding a soft bye to her group, she followed Dankein, but Jack's eyes never left her figure until she disappeared into the sports department. He narrowed his brows and questioned a why? Getting up almost instantly, he was about to follow her when Jenny grabbed his wrist with a don't and warm smile, looking into his tall towering figure that was now shielding her beautiful face from the sun, but still, it shone with the peeking rays. This girl was a distraction. She may turn out to be the reason for his failure and mistakes, which he couldn't possibly afford at all.

Drawing his eyebrows closer, he made a questioning face to which Jenny requested him to stay for a bit longer. But with a heavy heart, he jerked himself away from her grip and excuses his being only to follow Scarlet and Dankein. On his way, he turned to sneak a look at Jenny and God...he stabbed himself for the hurtful expressions she harbored looking at his figure.

"Professor, did you receive any emails from the other university? The last time I approached them and they said that I can't possibly pursue two courses at one time!" Scarlet shared her worries with Dankein who was still taking long strides and dropped once he spotted the nearby swimming pool.

Grabbing a chair, he gestured for her to seat and occupied the chair against Scarlet too. "I didn't receive any emails yet. But the dean of that university is a fast friend of mine. I have talked to him on phone. I think he will consider your case as an exception." Dankein said. He did talk to the dean in case Scarlet enquired after him.

The server from the nearby café arrived with two drinks and some snacks on the plates giving each one of them to Scarlet and Dankein. All he had to do now was mix the contents of that little red pouch into her drink that Silvan handed him the other day and told him to be extra cautious.

"Mix this in her drink and soon she would start to feel thirsty. She would then seek water, lots of it and when she would lower down in the water, she must shift to combat the effect of this. You can pluck out some skin or scales off her; whatever you wish. But she won't be in the shift for too long and don't drink it. It will reveal your true self too." Dankein remembered Silvan's words and sneakily mixed the pouch contents into Scarlet's drink when she excused herself to attend a call; all thanks to Dankein for the call. Coming over, Scarlet sipped the drink slowly and gulped the contents talking more about the scholarship when she started feeling hot and uneasy. All Dankein had to do was just wait...wait for the right time and then... it's done.
