Anything For You
Chapter 189

"Emerald, what happened? Why are you suddenly asking about the book? Did you...did you find it?" Carol hauled up from the floor, this time properly, and approached Emerald who still was having his phone tucked to his ear, and Scarlet was listening to his huffs on the other side. Other than his huffs and curses, she wasn't able to decipher much.

"No... I didn't. But it was stolen." Emerald announced and a sudden gasp left Carol's mouth making her lips agape. She softly touched his shoulder and he looked at her with tired eyes, eyes that were screaming millions of emotions, all his successes, his failures, everything. "Son, who stole it?" Carol was not certain but she needed to find it. Maybe it could help with missing Empress. It was her assumption, though.

"Scarlet's professor," Emerald replied. Scarlet was going insane on the other side. She called Emerald for help and here he was hopelessly engaged in a conversation with Carol. The hell.

"Professor! Why would a human steal something like that? It's a supernatural book. It contains supernatural events, mostly about you and Scarlet." Carol whispered the last sentence to herself. Emerald didn't heed much.

"That's because he isn't a human. He is the king of Dream-Catchers." Emerald said. Carol frowned her brows and left the knitting stuff aside. She killed the remaining distance between her and Emerald and asked directly looking through his eyes,

"Name...?" Her voice was firm, determined to an extent that even Scarlet felt the urgency behind it. Scarlet grew alert and Eva flinched looking at her changing expressions and stopped the rummaging.

"Dankein Cosh...?" Emerald's reply was more of a question than an answer for he was not sure where this conversation was headed to. The oy thing keeping him sane was Scarlet. He thought about her every second when he wanted to do something. But he analyzed Carol's figure taking steps back as if she was staggering. The lady started mumbling,

"No...this can't be. He can't be..."

Shoving his phone still running in his pocket, Emerald grabbed Carol tightly preventing her fall, and steadied her figure against him.

"Aunty Carol, What happened? What are you saying? Who can't be...?" His questions were sharp and straight. He was desperate for answers.

"The...the night Empress went missing, I heard the Emperor and Empress talking about the same man. They mentioned the name. The Emperor said that Dankein Cosh had sent dark souls for Empress because he wanted to find something. Do you think he wanted the book...? If that's the scenario, he is the one who took away Empress. That means...no, Scarlet...!" Carol was just guessing and putting two and two together, but now this whole mess was starting to make sense.

"Did grandmother pass any other messages? For me? For Scarlet? For anyone else that I know nothing of. Yet?" Emerald asked Carol, his eyes lavatic with anger and fury.

"She...she gave me a necklace and told me to give it to Scarlet only," Carol murmured.

"Why oy Scarlet?"

"Because she is more sensitive than you. I don't know what that means, but the Empress said that and she told me to give that necklace to Scarlet. The necklace was the only thing destined to help her since Empress couldn't." Carol said looking here and there. Guilty!

"Did you? ...Aunty Carol, did you give it to her?" Emerald asked and the lady barely nodded. Emerald left her frame and ran his fingers through his hair. He heard Scarlet calling him and realized that the phone was still connected.

Fetching the cell from his pocket, Emerald grabbed and was about to Scarlet about the necklace when he heard her saying,

"I am coming to you, now. With that necklace."

The phone beeped and the call got disconnected. All Carol heard was Emerald's retreating and thumping footsteps. She could wish for everyone's safety and hoped for the Empress to be alive. ~MORVIN HILLS~

"My Queen, the children have arrived. They seek an audience with you. What do you want me to do?" The butler in that lavish house asked Mrs. Ginevra Marcelline, who had been standing inside a huge room and was practicing some magic with water, which he couldn't see being outside the door.

"Children? Mr. Butler, who?" Ginevra asked in the middle of her acts. She had been making and diffusing balls of water in the room. That was all the old butler could assess from the sounds.

"Princess Mara, and Prince Sozm, My Queen." The butler replied sticking his ears closer to the huge wooden closed door which appeared to be wet.

"Oh, my children! Let them in, butler, and tell them to be prepared." Ginevra ordered in the middle of whatever she was doing inside the room. The butler nodded and left to call for the two people who had been made to wait in the hall.

The girl was tall and beautiful with her facial feature resembling Scarlet, but she looked a bit older. Her hair was shades of green and golden reaching till her lumbar vertebrae. She wore tight-fitting black jeans paired with high heels and a long gown over the top hugging and revealing her curves. Her green eyes kept roaming here and there in the hall.

The man beside her gave off a kingly aura. His clothes were all white with patches of occasional blue, and his Auburn hair complemented the attire laced with soft brown shoes. His ears were studded with pure pearls of blue colors, tiny in size. His blue eyes kept scanning his sister's movements. He appeared to be bored.

"The Queen has called you both in and asked you to be prepared." The butler announced and both the people looked at each other, rolled their eyes, and huffed marching towards the closed room.

With a soft thud, the door opened, let them in, and shut again leaving the old butler with no significant glimpses of what was going on inside the room. "Mother, Mother." Both the people greeted Mrs. Ginevra Marcelline and bowed long with etiquettes.

"Mara, Sozm, rise my pearls," Ginevra said while diffusing the water balls into one of the water walls she built in the room. Everywhere. Water and only water. She was standing in the middle of the room hugged by water too. Mara and Sozm exchanged looks. "Mother, Amoha sent us for helping the would-be Queen." Mara, the princess said with a sarcastic voice and Sozm glared at her instantly. She was blown into the rear corner when a huge water cannon landed at her chest directed from Ginevra.

"I told you to be prepared," Ginevra said and retrieved her attack. She called in all the water and absorbed every drop into her body leaving the room dry as a desert.

"You should remember that Sedna is the chosen one, Mara. You have other important duties. Look at your brother. He is a prince, but have you seen him act aloof like you?" Ginevra asked her daughter, the elder daughter, born before Sedna (Scarlet) and after Sozm. Her voice was authoritative.

"Apologies, mother." Mara composed herself and dusted her jeans of imaginary water or dust. "Amoha said that we need to guard the would-be Queen. What does that even mean? I mean, you are here. Aunt is here. Butler is also present here. Not to mention Sedna and her immense powers. Why does she still need protection, mother, and from who?" Mara asked, but Ginevra didn't bother her a reply.

"Mother, I had never seen you practice like this? Is something happening?" Sozm questioned. Ginevra barely nodded, darting her eyes at the last drops of water seeping into her palms as if she was going to say... -LOZENGE HOUSE-

Scarlet had already left for Werealm after informing her parents. Shala was sitting at the terrace when suddenly dark clouds formed in the sky. His gaze traveled upwards and his eyes widened. His lips parted and he kept looking at the sky as if looking at someone. -DESTINY LAND~

A loud thunderbolt was heard when Choice was reading her magazine of fairies and she flinched. She started looking for Destiny who had been working with her manuscripts since the morning. Dark and ominous clouds started hovering over the fairyland. Choice let her eyes wander here and there and found Destiny sitting in the garden working with her manuscripts.

The red ink that Destiny used to write 'fate' with was flowing out of the pen and was getting refilled from the nearby plant of 'fate berries. Suddenly there appeared a word that left Destiny shocked. So shocked that she didn't even react to Choice calling her continuously.

"Sister....sister!!! What happened? What are you looking at?" Choice peered down at the manuscript. The words were foreign to her. She was a fairy destined with other works and hence wasn't allowed to look at the manuscripts that had yet to take form. Destiny's eyes kept glued at the manuscript. The pen had stopped moving and she was in the Destiny Land looking at the new word formed in the manuscript, Shala in the Human World looking at the sky with his gaze traveling into fairy Land, and Ginevra in Morvin Hills looking at her hands absorbing remaining water drops ...all said in unison, "WAR."
