Chapter 62

"Looks like I have to talk to father, now."

said Emerald while the others were still looking at the thunderbolt which was making it difficult even to stand and was roaring like it would take away all the lives present out there.

"Jack, give me my phone. I need to talk to father." ordered Emerald to his Beta while pacing inside the villa. Jack passed him the phone while Scarlet had settled herself in the waiting hall getting surprised as to how her life had changed within some hours. "Father, how are you doing?" said Emerald talking to his father over the phone who was so happy that his son dialed him at this pious moment.

"I am doing good son. Congratulations. You have got your mate." Jasper said congratulating his son and showing his happiness. But the other moment, he frowned because he knew as to no way his son was going to call him and tell him that he got his mate when he had already howled.

"What made you call me so late at night, Emmy? Is everything alright.?" asked Jasper not knowing the exact reason of his son's late night call.

"Father, I am in RIVERSTONE TOWN jungle. But suddenly the weather changed and red lightening is striking everywhere." reported Emerald to his father feeling that he must knew the reason behind this.

The King realised the graveness of situation then and there while he remembered the words of Supreme ancestor. He immediately sat back straight on his bed from leaning position and suggested.. "Hurry up! Just leave that place immediately Emerald. You have to safeguard yourself and Scarlet.""

Emerald could sense the eagerness and restlessness behind his father's voice, but wait, how did he know about Scarlet when he didn't mention her name at all.

"Father, how do you .." he was cut amidst when Jasper ordered him in his Alpha tone ..

"I told you to leave that place immediately. Just leave from that jungle right now.... LEAVE..."

Emerald understood the graveness of situation and asked Jack and Scarlet to hastily leave the place. But when they all stepped out of the villa, another thunderbolt hit was heard there making them all flinch.

Now he understood, what his father was saying and why he was saying. Maybe some dark creatures are coming to attack on them. Although he wasn't sure, yet he didn't want to take any chances. He had heard from his Grandmother that Red lightening was an ominous sign and it indicated the Dark Souls presence.

Following his father's commands, he used his alpha powers and shielded Scarlet, Jack and other wolves who were along with him then and there. But he forgot that he was weak at this time of blood moon. So, the shield was not strong enough to protect them all. All of them headed outside the villa encircled by a ball of magic which was casted by Emerald to act as a shield. Suddenly, something took over Scarlet and she closed her eyes to sense the movements around her. She was sure something was happening there and someone was approaching their side.

She tugged her arms around Emerald out of fear and this took him off guard. He was ready into her and her little gestures were adding more to that. Sensing that Emerald was not in his usual self and he appeared to be quite weak not physically but the Shield was particularly thin, she unleashed some of her powers and soon an oceanic flicker started to radiate out of her right palm.

She made a tiny ball out of that flicker and threw it upwards. The blue flicker spread over all the ball shaped shield making another barrier around it which was enough for them to be safe for the time being.

Emerald was stunned witnessing all this. When Scarlet realised him looking at her with stunned expression, she just shrugged her shoulders and said while leaving her hold over his arm....

"Being a mermaid have some perks too, Alpha."

'Looks like she is a scary kitten only with me, other times she is a badass woman. I like it' thought Emerald and chuckled but Jack ruined his moment spitting out ...

" Alpha.. we are heading to somewhere. But exactly where to ??"

This question was what Emerald least wanted to answer. But still, he had to. He murmured like a whisper...

"I don't know."

It was a shock for Jack and the other wolves. Although they were all ready to give up on their lives for their Alpha and Would be Luna, but still they were afraid. To ease up their troubled minds, Scarlet volunteered herself saying.... "Amm ... my home is nearby. We can reach there within half an hour, If we use a car."

Listening to her, Jack's eyes glittered like a puppy and he became enthusiastic. Being too much excited, he spat out without paying any attention to the raged wolf by his side...

"Woohh.. Luna, that would be great. Moreover, I like your company too much."

At that vary moment, when this lone wolf said those words to Scarlet, the raged Alpha growled in his Alpha tone which was a signal for all the others to step two steps away from the couple. He hadn't marked her yet but that didn't mean that he would allow anyone to flirt with her, may it be his beta and that too without any intentions of doing so.

Jack understood his Alpha growl and also let himself away from Scarlet, not only two but four steps which was enough for Emerald to get back to his senses. He didn't know what he would be facing if Emerald got mad over him at any cost. He had ready warned him back then in the hut when he was just looking at Luna's (Scarlet) feet to not repeat that behavior.

They all made it out of the jungle and were totally shocked to see that everything was perfectly fine here. No changes in the weather were spotted outside the jungle, but still the red lightening was striking in that part of jungle where the magical pool was located. "Maybe it's because of that holy pond." thought Emerald inside his mind and ordered Jack to prepare the cars for them.

Since everything was fine by now, so he thought they had no need to stop by Scarlet's house and they could just drop her home before heading back to his own castle, when they all heard the loud roaring voice which was quite deafening in that calm and composed atmosphere.

"It doesn't look simple. I am sure something is going to happen today." murmured one of the warrior wolf who were called to assist Emerald but hanged his head low when found his Alpha glaring at him from the mirror.

"You all take those two different cars while me, Luna and Jack will be using this one." said Emerald gesturing to his Car and held Scarlet by her waist while plopping on the passenger seat without giving anyone a chance to speak further.

All of them got themselves dismissed while Jack was still standing there dazed thinking what had just happened, when he was snapped out of his thought world when he heard his Alpha school him saying...

"Do you want me to leave you here and drive on my own Jack?"

"No.. no.. no.. Alpha .. I am coming. I will drive. I will drive." saying these words his Beta immediately stepped inside and landed his a*s on driver seat grabbing the steering wheel and left that jungle area making Screeching sound with the car tyres stepping fastly on gas.

After some interval, he looked back at the couple who were just sitting at the back seat like total strangers and were not even sparing glances to each other. He started the conversation to ease up the situation asking Scarlet clearing his throat ..... "Ahhha... Miss Lozenge, I mean, Luna.... could you tell me the address of your house. So that, I would be able to drop ..." and was offered another glare from Alpha.

'What did I do now?' thought Jack looking away when Scarlet made a movement and replied to him softly telling him the way towards her house.

Soon, they both got engaged in a lively conversation and after a total of 5 minutes, Scarlet and Jack's loud laughter was echoing in the silent Car where only the tyres were making sounds previously.

"Jack.. Drive properly." ordered Emerald which made both of them to stop laughing and Scarlet gave him a 'Come On man' look to which he didn't respond at all.

They reached and the girl was just about to step inside her house after bidding bye to them when another thunderbolt was heard and red lightening flickered over the Car.

Now, it was clear that whosoever it was, it wanted to harm the Alpha or Luna. She came back in a swoosh moment and held his arm taking or almost dragging him out of the car saying all the convincing things...

"I know.. I know you are a wolf Mr. FHA... " he glared.

"I mean Mr. Azure ... but you have seen with those wolf eyes of yours what happened, right? So, in no way I am letting you two people out of here.

You will stay here until everything calms down."

She ordered. She literally did. But he didn't frown this time. He was finding it cute. But Jack was constantly getting drenched with an imaginary bucket of ice cold water, everything his Alpha was behaving like that.

"You are safe here. We will be safe too. We can go back now." whispered Emerald besides her ears to which she just shrugged off her shoulders and instantly a soft smile appeared on her cherry lips which made the two wolves wonder as to why she was smiling like this. "Why are you ..!" before he could say anything further, she just took his face in her soft hands and made him look out of the car saying...

"You don't want to go in this rainy weather Mr. Azure." and smirked.

Now he was left with no choice but to follow her inside the house and in the process of doing so, they all got drenched completely because of the heavy downpour.

They thought that the shield made by using their powers had protected them but little did they know someone else was protecting them from afar without being aware of the fact that they were being peeked at and followed by.
