Anything For You -
Chapter 78
"Eva, would you join me in the family party?" Although this took him a lot of courage, because it was his first time asking a girl to mark her presence in his family affairs, and he knew nobody would turn down his request, yet the girl over the other side was quite
unpredictable. She could do and say the things anybody could barely imagine.
But how come he knew about her so perfectly well, when she had always portrayed a good image of herself in front of him. But little did she know that he had witnessed her fighting with her friends and bitching others like a pro. That was when he made certain that his girl was a badass and the last thing he would ever want to do was piss her off, which he did recently.
Not getting any response from the other side, his senses started to tense thinking all the possible ways that she could use to turn him down just because she was infuriated, but then her voice was heard, which held politeness and a tinge of softness whispering, "Only if you would send a car to escort me, and would receive me yourself."
Calming down his tensed muscles and relaxing his anticipatory senses, he smiled and heaved a sigh of relief. He thanked the Moon Goddess in his mind for saving him from his little Girl's wrath. Later the duo continued to chit-chat for some more time. -INSIDE THE BOOK-
Morning fell over the other side of horizon, and a little petty figure could be seen sitting over the edge of two separated lands, the land of living and the land of dead.
Another figure approached near to her, took a sit besides her, followed her direction of gaze and continued looking at the rising sun. Indeed it was a great view. The beautiful rays of sun lighting the forbidden land, made all the barren area and the sand look like a sea of Gold.
"Who would believe that place is a Neverland after witnessing this beautiful Mirage!" Estella just whispered to the figure, whose silhouette was giving her strange expressions.
"Indeed, Life itself is a beautiful Mirage." Egon, who had been searching for any signs of life these past few days in the forbidden land, had grown even more accustomed to the fact that one should enjoy each and every detail of it. Who knows what would the tomorrow bring in for you!
Both the people were shattered, lost and alone in their own world's, who were in dire need of someone to pull them out of that endless abyss. And here they were, with each other, on their own missions, sharing a part of their thoughts. "Why are you here Egon?" Estella asked Egon, who had his gaze still tucked into the golden sand.
"Told you, the king had sent me here for..."
But Estella wasn't a lady to be fooled. She knew there was something else in his story, and she was eager to find it. Asking him nicely was the first option in her platter.
"Well, I know that's not the truth, or we can say that is half of the truth. And ... I would love to hear the other half." Saying those words sadistically, she took him off guard.
He felt like a wave of current passing through his body, making his spine to shiver down to the core. Nobody except Akhim had seen through him so neatly. This girl was the second person.
Guessing that he had nothing to hide off, he made an answerable face, but then choose to let it be. Hauling up from his sit, and going back to his share of today's works, he said plainly,
"I am here to find, what lies at the other end of My Mirage."
She was totally speechless. This man seemed to be here for some similar reason, as she was. Looking at his disappearing figure into the living people's tribe, she just hoped for him to stay from the way of harm.
Taking a long breath in, she also hauled up from the ground and paced towards the group of people who had gathered around a circle, in which they had kept two hunted Deer and were now ready to feast upon it.
"Since you are the guest here, so, we offer you a bigger piece of food." The head of tribe offered the trio food which was now cooked on strong heat by trying and rolling the deer over fire on a wooden stick. Sensing their awkwardness, he took out some vegetables and mixed them with pieces of meat. They all accepted happily.
"You like plants more!!" The tribe head was wondering that how did they survive for so many days in that land without hunting for food, to which they all nodded in unison, but not denying the fact that they do eat meat.
Everybody was occupied in their own chores and tasks assigned. Akhim joined the guardsmen, Egon sat with the elder lady and Estella got herself occupied with the tribe women, helping them to do the handworks.
They were all talking and chit-chatting, when a young man from the tribe came running to the tribe head. He bowed his head down in respect and spoke something a dialect, not understandable by the trio. But gazing at the faces of all tribal people, Egon, Estella and Akhim could decipher that something was off.
Approaching the tribal head, Egon enquired the matter,
"What happened, aadu? What did that boy say?" (Aadu is a word of respect for calling head of tribe in that particular dialect).
"We have a visitor." The creaky lines on that head's forehead were a proof that he wasn't happy at the arrival of another visitor in his home.
"Arrival of too many visitors in a lapse of two days isn't a good sign. I hope to our lord that everything is fine." He added further arising the curiosity regarding that new visitor in Egon.
Till now, them three were the only people who had crossed the Forbidden land and made it to this living zone, but if more people are coming, it could pose a threat to this harmonious community. This was the last thing that Egon and his group wanted. Keeping aside all the presumptions, they all headed to the place where that visitor was stopped by the same young man who brought the news of his arrival.
Upon reaching, they all noticed a young man of 24-25 years of age, dressed in all white clothes, looking like a royal was standing under the huge Sacred Banyan tree of the tribe with his back towards all of them. The head (aadu) closed his eyes, and then sighed heavily. He was having bad vibes but he had to follow the commands of Elder Mother.
Taking slow and softer steps towards that visitor, he spoke as gently as possible in the language which he used to communicate with Egon and his friends,
"Visitor, Who are you? How can we help you?"
The strong voice of head, although polite, but carried a sense of displeasure. The visitor was able to decipher it immediately. He turned around only to face the head, but this swift gesture made all the rest of people to gasp except Egon, Estella and Akhim, who had frowns on their foreheads and eyes narrowed.
A royal man! In the middle of a tribe! Out of nowhere! This were the thoughts lingering in the heads of all three of them, along with the head. To others, he was like a God who walked down the heavens and stopped to have a feast with them.
His clothes were all white, as if a grain of sand would stain it. He carried a sword, shining under the sun so brightly that it's light could take away your eye-sight. His skin looked so smooth, as if he was a fairy. A small red colored backpack was hanging on his right shoulder, which looked like stuffed with his all necessary belongings.
Despite of his royal look and belongings, he gave off the aura of a broken man, who had been wandering in the world, looking for something or someone to mend his soul.
Keeping a trace of all the gasped faces and those narrowed gazes of people around him, he took some baby steps towards the tribe head, bowed slightly in respect,
"I was passing by this area. I am out of food and very tired. So, I thought of taking shelter for some time, before going on my way."
As his appearance was magnificent, so did his voice. It was like a hypnosis, forcing people, compelling people to just agree with whatever he had to say. The head of tribe was still having some suspicions, but then thought of something and nodded his head to let the visitor in for shelter. Whatsoever he was here for, they couldn't deny him of food and shelter.
All the people approached the village with that visitor, who was moving slowly and his aura was making them feel good. He appeared to be coming from a wonderland, the way he spoke and moved around.
But he wasn't aware that someone was already expecting his visit.
