Anything For You -
Chapter 79
All the people reached back in the village, and took that visitor to the elder lady, who had been meditating by now. They all bowed in respect and left after to engage in their respective tasks. Only people left in the room were Elder lady, The Visitor, Egon, Estella, Akhim and the head of tribe. The elder lady was still meditations while her fingers were moving showing that she was kind of doing some calculations. Everybody stood still, but the visitor bowed down respectfully, to which she smiled still with closed eyes. "Akhim, Aadu, you both can leave." Her orders were the orders of ancestors for tribal people. Hence, Aadu and Akhim both nodded and left out.
"I didn't know that you would be here so early.... What should I call you...?" The Elder lady clearly knew the identity of that visitor, but she was acting as if she was waiting for him to introduce himself. When she became sure that he wasn't intending to do so, she was left with nothing but to question him. "Pardon my manners, Manga. I am Valor. I..."
"Are you...?" Before the visitor could form up any sentences further, he was interrupted by the elder's question. She opened her eyes, which carried a sense of distrust, but smile still not leaving her old lips.
"It's been ages since somebody had addressed me as Manga. You do know me well, VALOR.." The old lady spoke stressing the last words, as if she was making him aware that she know exactly who he was and what was his identity.
"Estella, come here. It's time to give you this." The lady took out that beaded neck chain, which she told Estella was gifted by her husband and made her wear it. Sensing the emotions and feelings the girl was going through at the moment, she patted her head and planted a kiss on her forehead lovingly. She gestured them both to leave.
After the departure of both Egon and Estella, the Elder lady shifted her attention to Visitor, who claimed himself to be a man named Valor.
"So, Valor or whatever your name is son, Tell me why are you here from fairyland?"
Valor was stunned just at the mention of fairyland. How come this old lady know about fairyland! Does this mean that she also know about his real identity! All these questions were buzzing in his head, when the lady spoke up grabbing his attention once more. "I know your identity, Mr. Valor. But what I don't know is why are you here after thousands of years?" The elder Lady was having quite a number of secrets of him under her sleeves. She definitely knew the truths and lies people had in their stores. Valor knew that the lady in front of him wasn't any ordinary human. So, it was no use of hiding things anymore. Mustering up his courage, he swallowed the lump in his throat and processed the words,
"Every day it becomes even more difficult and painful to hang on. I have nothing left in there. I lost my family and friends in the war that broke out thousand years ago between fairies and demons. I feel that I don't belong there anymore. Hence, I set out on a journey to travel this mortal world. Maybe, I will find peace."
The elder lady felt bad for this young man. He was indeed suffering. Who said that fairies and Gods don't suffer! Who said that it's only humans who feel the pain of loosing their loved ones! Pain and love are universal emotions. They don't bother the person who is in their way, and same happened with Valor.
"Well, it's life young man. I wish you to find peace......." She wished him and gave her blessings to which he nodded and left after bowing, only for her to whisper in order to complete her sentence, "... after death."
The moment Valor had stepped in front of her, she knew that he would find peace only after death, but it was also a truth that he still had a very long way to go. ~Two Days Later-
Valor had adjusted with the tribe, and he took the task of making music, telling stories to the children. He was good at music, so the tribe head Aadu assigned him to make music. Elder lady also suggested the same, since she knew how badly he needed peace. It was morning time. Egon had done all the tasks and now was sitting besides his horse who was resting under the shade after a full meal. He was so lost in his own thoughts that he didn't notice the arrival of Akhim.
Akhim tried to read his expressionless face, and called him. But no response. He shook Egon, only to startle him, as if he had pulled him back from his thought world to the real world.
"What is it, Egon? What is bothering you? And why are we here?" Since the first day of their voyage, Akhim had been wondering why they were here. He knew perfectly well that the excise which Egon had made up to tell everyone about his visit was lame. They weren't aware of that area prior to them setting foot on it, then how come he was here to help and save people!
"I am here to find answers, I have been looking for whole of my life." This time Egon didn't wish to hide anything from his only friend Akhim. He wasn't here to save anyone or help anyone, but he was here because he was restless, and he wanted some answers. "What answers? What's so important that you had not even thought about yourself and your kingdom once? You know that you don't have a heir to rule after you, still you risked your life! Why??"
Akhim was done with the matter. He was losing patience. Egon's safety was his only priority, but this young lad wasn't taking any of these seriously and he was chasing some questions. But what exactly?!
"I want to find out what exactly happened to father!" Egon's tone turned softer. For a moment there was complete silence. Nobody dared to say anything, but the soft neighing voice of the resting horse pierced through that silence. Akhim's eyes widened in surprise and shock.
"What? Have you listened to yourself! If you wanted to know anything about Emperor, you could have asked me. Why did you risk everything!! Tell me." It was true that Akhim knew most of the matters concerned with Egon's late father, but he was also not aware that he didn't know everything.
"He died after that battle because of a poisoned arrow, Egon. I was always by his side in his last days. He missed you. He wanted you to take over the throne and be a responsible son, a king. He didn't want you to chase him in the name of seeking answers." "No, You... you don't know anything. And he didn't die because of that poisoned arrow." Egon had burst out startling both Akhim and the resting horse. The later happened to get up and took another place to settle itself down I knowing that his master was furious. "You don't believe me! Why would I lie to you?" Akhim was at the loss of words. He was crumbling thinking that Egon was trying to push things far and wasn't believing what he had been trying to say. He thought that Egon was raged over him, but both the men were right in their shoes.
"No, Akhim. I ... I don't mean to say it like that. I know you would never lie to me, but I also know that there is much more than a poisoned arrow, which happened to cause my father's death." He said the words bit by bit slightly calming himself. "And how are you so sure about it?" Although Akhim wasn't getting his point, yet he wanted to believe this boy who was shattering because of the burdens of his past. And if What Egon was saying was true, then Akhim himself was to be blamed too. His whole, Akhim had thought that his king had died because of that poisoned arrow, shot by the enemy in the battlefield. But if he didn't die of that, what was it then! And why was Egon so sure about it! Did he find something! Akhim's mind was spinning thinking of all the possibilities, but the most bewildering thing was that, he was afraid. He was afraid of facing his late friend, Egon's father after his own death, because he thought he failed him. -DESTINY LAND~
"Sister, what is happening? You know what happened to this young king's father? I mean, that General man is saying that he died in the battle, but that Egon is saying he didn't. And sister, what about that dead snake! Who is Estella? And... and, why do I feel that I have seen this Valor guy before??? Sister, say something...."
Choice was pestering Destiny almost shaking her whole body and crushing it with her weight, but Destiny was calm like the trees are without wind.
"Just look, don't bother me. I am busy." Destiny warned Choice, glaring her with sharp eyes to which poor Choice just pouted her lips and sat helplessly.
