Blake:

I growled at Natalia as the two of us looked at one another. Her ocean blue eyes remained fixed on my emerald green ones.

Her eyes were wide in both fear and worry, not to mention her racing heart which was throbbing against her ribcage. But nevertheless, she still got down on her knees in front of me. Extending her hand as she showed me that she was just trying to help and that she wouldn’t harm me. I couldn’t miss her shaking hand as she feared my reaction, but she didn’t move, she wanted to help me, and was showing it in every possible way.

“Please” she begged. Her eyes stayed on my own, I growled again wanting her to stay away. I wasn’t stable, for now, I was in my wolf form, an injured wolf is far more dangerous than a normal wolf. The woman was crazy for being here.

“I won’t hurt you” she tried again. This time, she slowly got closer to me. I growled again, this time exposing my canines. She hesitated for a second, but still kept her hand in front of me “I just want to help you, if the poison spreads in you body; it would end up killing you. You’re not allowing your nurse inside, and your pack is frightened. Just let me help you”

“Ares, she’s going to help, we have to cooperate. She just saved our lives” I told my wolf who was refusing to let me shift back to human. It was only natural, when a wolf felt danger, he would be more vicious than he regularly was. In this case, it wasn’t only danger, but also injury.

She slowly got closer to me, this time taking the risk, she put her hand under my nose, making me sniff it softly. The needle which contained the serum was on the floor the next second and her left hand went to my muzzle. I wanted to take a step back, only this time, the spark that Ares and I felt stopped me from moving, I melted into her touch.

“Please shift back to human, I’ll help you out, and I’ll clean the wound for you. You’ll be okay” her voice was just above a whisper for my ears to hear. She put her own head forehead on my muzzle and it was seconds later that I was back to human form. My forehead leaning against hers despite my fatigue state, her small hands cupping my cheeks as my b***d poured. She pulled me to lay on her chest, not giving a damn for the second time that I was nude in front of her.

She pulled out her phone and I could hear her phone ringing as she called someone “Mason, you or Ryan just put clothes at the door. Something to help keep him warm, his body is burning, but I think his fever is rising. I’ll help him out here”

“Natalia, he could hurt you” Mason said warning her. Natalia looked out the window which revealed Mason, Ryan, Mum, and dad who were all watching the scene with wide eyes. None of them walked inside, or tried to, not even before she walked inside to help me. Then there’s her, the one woman who I’ve denied and have been doing nothing aside hurting for the past ten days. That woman was the one person willing to risk her life to save my own knowing that I was not only injured, but weakening.

“I’ll take the risk. He’s in a state where one shouldn’t think of anything else” with that said she hung up. She took the needle in her hand and I could feel water on my left arm making me tense “it’s just pure water, it’s coming out of my finger. I just need to use it to clean the area for me to put the needle in”

I didn’t react, I had no energy to do so anyway. I watched as she put the needle inside my arm, pressing on the medicine to enter my system before she pulled it out. My head was still on her chest as I took deep breaths trying to calm myself.

It was a matter of seconds before there was a knock on the window, Mason having brought clothes; however, it seemed like Natalia had locked the door before walking inside. She motioned for the metal to move and unlocked he door while still holding me in her arms. Both Mason and Ryan walked inside the room before locking it, this time I coughed as I tried processing what they were doing here.

“We’re not leaving him alone, and you could use a hand if gets another attack” Ryan explained and Natalia nodded. She kissed the crown of my head before my betas helped me sit up “go and wash your hands, we’ll take care of helping him get dressed”

She nodded and got up walked toward the bathroom, I could hear the water running inside; though I was aware that she hasn’t locked the door. Mason helped me into new boxers and shorts, this wasn’t the first time we’ve helped one another as pack members. In regular states, it would be the wolf’s mate who would help with such tasks, but judging by the current circumstances, an exception had to be made.

Natalia walked out just as Mason and Ryan were helping me to the bed “Natalia, we’ll need you to help put the IV on him. He’s going to be getting a fever, we’ll be putting a normal IV, and a Wolf’s Veil. We need to control his shifting”

“Alright” Natalia answered. She walked toward the IV and took my hand, Ryan handed her a sanitizer and she softly dabbed my hand to clean it for me.

It was seconds later when I felt the needle enter my body, and it didn’t take long before she put the Wolf’s Veil inside my body. Ares relaxed, not that he was as nervous anymore, her presence was enough to calm him down.

She brought the sanitizer and walked to my neck “this is going to sting a little, but I need to clean to wound as for it not to get infected. Okay?”

I didn’t answer, I couldn’t anyway. I just laid still as she cleaned it, it stung I had to admit; but I didn’t have the energy to move anymore. My body giving in to the exhaustion as I laid still “Blake, you’re going to need to stay awake”

Her voice was calm but I couldn’t take it anymore. The pain was too much, and me losing this much b***d was already taking its effect “Blake”

“Let him sleep, Natalia, he’ll need his time to heal. If he does enter a coma, I’ll be holding his place until he’s back; but we need to ensure that this stays within the pack’s grounds” Ryan said.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be keeping my mouth shut on this. I’ll stay here with him for the night, if he needs anything, someone has to be by his side” Natalia said calmly. I felt her run her hand over my forehead, my body was shaking despite being as hot as it was.

“He’s got a fever”

“That’s only normal, the man is getting rid of a poison” Mason answered Natalia.

“This is going to be one hell of a long night”
