Chapter 109: Stanley ‘STAN’ Norris vs. Ian ‘WILL’ Williams ~ Making merry!
***
Everyone seemed to be having the time of their lives. At some point, they were asked to move to the rooftop for dinner. The guest gasped when they saw the absolutely amazing setup. With the use of paper lantern string lights, bamboo lanterns, solar-powered pendants, and LED loops string lights, the rooftop had been transformed into something out of a fairytale. Fairy lights had been draped along the banisters, giving it a sweet whimsical look. On the dining tables sat vibrant decorative Citronella candles and beautiful flowers which provided a soft romantic touch. The stylish tablecloths and cutlery arrangement gave it an overall luxurious and classy look. On the whole, it was a delightful ambiance that filled the guests with excitement and created a festive mood.
"Wow!" Will breathed as his shocked gaze shifted around. "How come I didn't see all this when we got here?" he rasped, looking at the decorative sunflower ornaments which were all over, giving a pop of colour and light. "Anything that would have given this away was glamoured, baby," Stan chuckled as he pressed a kiss to Will's temple. "Come on, let's sit."
The guests looked awed and totally thrilled with the entire setup. Almost all eyes were riveted on a stunning photo backdrop of Stan and Will. In the picture, Stan was tucking away a tendril of Will's hair as both smiled adoringly at each other. On top of it was a display of an entwined S&W in LED and beneath it was a line of cute flameless candles that added to the beauty of the backdrop. And right beside that was a long table with a wide selection of scrumptious looking desserts in the middle of which stood a huge beautiful cake. It was, however, the cheesecake with the inscription, MY WILL, that made people smile.
"Did those two get hitched?" Jean asked out loud when he noticed the cake.
"Why else is that wedding cake there, moron?" his twin snapped as he snatched his glass of whiskey out of his hand.
"Dude, how about you go get your own drink," Jean growled as he tried to take his drink back but his husband pulled him back.
"That glass is likely to be empty by the time you successfully pry it out of your brother's hand, baby," Jackson chuckled as he turned Jean around and kissed him. "I'll get you another." He knew better than to take sides when it came to his husband and his twin brother.
"I got you, lieutenant," Ty chuckled beside them as he raised the two bottles of expensive single malt whiskey in his hands. He'd know the crazy twins longer than anyone at that party so naturally knew how to handle them. "And I don't think Will would get married without telling us."
"I think he has," Dean insisted as he took his seat. "There's something about the way they look at each other. They give off more than mere fuckbuddy vibes if you ask me."
"No one said they were fuck buddies, Dean," Jackson chuckled. "Fuck buddies don't throw such lavish parties. I'll kill the idiot if he went and got married without telling us," he growled.
"Want me to lend you my gun?" Dean raised a brow.
"The toy one?" Both Jackson and Ty smirked in unison eliciting laughter from those at the table.
"Wait, wait, did that really happen, Dean?" Rodriguez stared at the crazy architect. "You actually took a toy gun to a fight?"
"I plead the fifth." Dean's comical expression made the others laugh even harder.
Dinner was great. Everyone ate to their satisfaction. Those with sweet tooth dug into the extensively decadent desserts with relish. With the exception of the cheesecake which only Will and Stan ate together, everyone was free to eat their fill of the huge cake. Stan had to excuse himself to go and see to something downstairs at some point but dinner was virtually over anyway. The guests were directed from the rooftop to a well-lit auditorium downstairs where theater curtains concealed the stage from the guests.
The well-fed guests relaxed and enjoyed the good music that filled the hall. Waiters moved around to ensure that everyone had drinks and anything they needed. When a sexy-looking Paige mounted the stage and strutted as though she was a queen, there were appreciative whistles and cheers. She shamelessly basked in the attention to the thrill of the guests.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen." She had to wait for the cheers to subside. "I must confess I haven't had this much fun in a long while," Paige announced. "But then knowing the lovebirds whose party this is, I'm not surprised at all. But what's about to happen next is what I've been waiting for all evening. Damn, I'm buzzing." The guests laughed although they didn't know what was going to happen. "I've known this crazy guy since we were both kids. I call him my brother. And I'm so proud of him."
She went quiet for a moment. It was obvious that she was trying to compose herself. She blinked rapidly and then looked up, clearly trying to stop her tears from spilling.
"Can't believe the idiot made me cry," Paige's shocked murmur made the guests laugh softly. "He's full of shit but I love him to bits," she laughed hoarsely, eliciting laughter from the guests. "Hey Will, I know he's a handful, but that's what you got two hands for..." She grinned.
"Well, he's met his fucking match!" George bellowed to fist-pumps from his fellow Arrowheads and more laughter from the guests.
"Know what?" Paige tilted her head with a thoughtful expression on her face. "I once read somewhere that if you want to be really happy, you have to find the second half of you. I think these two did just that. They're a perfect match." This time, both the Arrowheads and the werewolves boomed their approval with the soldiers roaring whilst the werewolves howled to the delight of all the oblivious humans.
"In all the years I've known him," Paige went on. "I've never seen him try anything like what he's about to do. What love can do, huh?" the bemused expression on her face made the guests laugh. "Ladies and gentlemen, my Stanislav, your Stan..."
The guests applauded. But when the curtain parted to reveal a grinning Stan looking so gorgeous and sexy in a tuxedo with an entire orchestra behind him, the applause became thunderous.
