YUNIFER'S

POV

I couldn't help but hissed when I felt the stinging pain on my cheeks, making Kale look at me with worry as he gently treated my wounds.

I know that he was worried and self-blaming himself for the action that he never did just because the one who hurt me had the same appearance as him. He thinks that the reason why I was hurt was that I lowered my guard, thinking that the enemy was him just because they have the same face.

I let out a heavy sigh and spoke to him calmly. "Kale, I told you, you don't have to blame yourself. I had always known that person wasn't you. Although he had the same mannerisms and aura as you, I am not a fool who would easily be fooled by anyone. He wasn't as unique as you and he can't copy your words correctly."

Hearing this, Kale's eyes slightly reddened as the hand that was tending my wounds slightly quivered. "B-But..."

"No buts. Besides, you don't have to treat my wounds this much since they will just heal on their own." I calmly stated while trying to push his hand that was tending my wounds away.

Just when he was about to touch my face to continue the treatment when suddenly, we both heard a cold voice coming from in front of us.

"What are you two doing?!"

When we raised our heads, it was none other than Havoc whose face was darkened while staring at us as if he just caught his wife cheating on him.

I rolled my eyes upon seeing him like this and before Kale could explain, I was the one who spoke.

"There was an intruder who managed to intrude on your mansion earlier. He even dressed up as Kale and managed to attack me. What you see right now is that Kale was treating my wounds because of worries and guilt." I calmly explained as I let Kale continue treating my wounds since I know that no matter what I would do, he would still do it anyway.

Besides, in this way, he would be less guilty even though there's no need for him to feel that way especially since he wasn't the one who attacked me.

Hearing this, the first thing that Havoc did was to inspect Kale from top to bottom to see if he was injured or so. This action made me roll my eyes as I wanted to say to him that I was the one who got wounded not him and besides, that enemy's target wasn't Kale from the beginning even though he used Kale's appearance to deceive and besides, I was the one who was that enemy's target.

"Yunifer was the one who got injured, not me." It was Kale who said while stopping Havoc from inspecting him.

It was the time that Havoc stopped inspecting Kale and instead, he eyed me.

His eyes glanced at the wounds on my cheeks that are slowly healing on their own but the blood on my cheeks dried was still visible which made my face half horrifying.

"Since when did that enemy intrude? I never felt any other presence that had killing intent or bad intentions against anyone of us. That's a bit weird since I've already enhanced the security of this mansion. How come he was able to get through my security without alerting me?" Havoc's voice was deep and cold while his eyes dimmed and flashed with anger and irritation.

I took a deep breath as I shrugged my shoulder. "I don't know how he was able to get here. One thing I know is that he is dangerous. Far more dangerous than you think. If he can break through your defense and mechanism, then he can do it again. Sahara also warned me that someone was watching me too."

After I said that, I stood up firmly and looked at them with an apologetic look.

"I'm sorry that you got implicated in my problems. I shouldn't stay here for a bit longer. Who knows what would happen if that enemy of mine would come back to seek revenge." I calmly said while looking them in the eyes.

Just when Havoc was about to open his mouth and answer, Kale was the first one who spoke while shaking his head.

"No, it wasn't your fault and you don't have to apologize for it. Besides, you can stay here for as long as you want. We don't mind it and also, you are our friend too. It's natural for us to help our friends who are in need." Kale gently said while looking at me with those warm expressions.

Just when I was about shook my head and reject his offer when it was Havoc who spoke in such a cold tone.

"I know that your Alphas are strong and had a strong pack too, but since my mate, Kale offered to help you then, of course, we will lend you a hand," Havoc said with a perfunctory tone.

Before I could speak, I sense a strong presence that was rushing their way toward my direction.

I jolted when I felt a strong arm tightly wrapped around me, which made me relax a little especially when I felt a familiar presence coming from them.

"Lawrence! Drake!" I exclaimed while looking at the two of them who were tightly holding me a smile plastered on my face upon seeing them.

"I sense a strong presence from you. Who did you meet?" It was Drake who coldly asked while looking at me, trying to inspect me from up to down to see if I was injured or wounded.

His brows furrowed while staring at my cheeks, making me flustered. "What happened to your cheeks?"

Huh? How could he still see that I was wounded when my wound was already healed?

It was as if he was able to see through my thoughts and his brows furrowed as his eyes darkened.

"Who did this?" He asked coldly while his thumb reached out to touch my cheeks that had dried blood.

Dried blood...

Damn it! I forgot to wipe the bloodstain on my cheeks. Although the wound on my cheeks was healed as if it had never been wounded before in the end, I forgot that some traces of blood stained my cheeks, which is why Drake found out.

Even Lawrence, who was gently smiling while hugging me earlier, retracted his hand as his eyes were coldly staring at the bloodstain on my cheeks but the smile on his lips was still visible.

He looked terrifying.

Seeing them kept on staring at me, waiting for my answer, I let out a heavy sigh and calmly narrated what happened to me before I concluded.

"An enemy managed to get inside Havoc's mansion and his purpose is me from the beginning. He tried to disguise himself as Kale to let my guard down however, he wasn't able to copy the way Kale would speak despite that he spoke gently and warmly which was why I was able to raise my guard from him." I honestly said while looking at the two who had a scowl look on their faces.

"If you raised your guard from him, how come he was able to attack you?" It was Lawrence who gently asked while staring at me.

I let out a sigh and answered, "He was too fast. Before I could prepare to dodge, he already reached out for my cheek. It was a good thing that my fast reflexes came in handy and I was able to dodge his attack. Unfortunately, he was still able to scratch and wound my cheeks."

After listening to my words, Drake stared at me for a few minutes before he turned his head and glanced at Havoc who was also looking at us.

"Have you noticed the man who attacked Yunifer?" Drake calmly asked while looking at him.

Havoc shook his head. "No, I haven't. If I had sensed his presence, I would have immediately been guarded. However, he was able to get through my security without alerting me. Plus, he was also able to copy the appearance of my mate which is very annoying." Hearing those, Drake fell into deep contemplation.

It wasn't until Lawrence spoke. "Only witches can use magic to do that. Witches are different from werewolves. Werewolves have their strength while witches have their magic and witchcraft."

When I heard this, I looked at Lawrence, and with brows furrowed, I asked. "Aren't witches distinguished and they only exist in history?"

Drake looked at me and calmly sighed. "Indeed, but given the situation of the enemy who dares to attack you... I doubt it."

His tone was calm but his eyes were sharp.

I pursed my lips as I let out a heavy sigh. "That seemed to be the case."

Seeing them go silent and thinking hard about the identity of the enemy who attacked me, I clapped my hands to get their attention and I succeeded.

"Let's stop talking about that since no matter what we are going to say right now, it will leave us as hypotheses since we don't have much lead nor evidence about who that man is," I said while letting out a heavy sigh as I sat on the chair, watching the dishes in front of me then I took the plate and grabbed some food before I started eating it.

Seeing me eating the dishes on the table, the four of them also sat down but they didn't eat.

Wait... I noticed that Ishid and Asher still haven't come.

I looked at Lawrence and Drake then I asked them. "Where are Ishid and Asher? Why haven't they come?"

Drake was the one who answered. "Ishid was dragged by Asher."

Hearing this, I put down my fork and raised my head while looking at him.

"Dragged by Asher? Where are they?"

Lawrence softly sighed. "They went to the Candy Shop. You know, Ishid also can't resist when it comes to sweet things so Drake and I decided to leave them in the Candy Shop."

I just let out a sigh and decided not to think too much about them and instead should focus on my food.

Besides, Ishid was there and he was strong enough to protect himself and Asher if something goes wrong.

But in the end, I looked at Lawrence and said, "Can you pick them up? I'm afraid that they would meet the man who tried to attack me."
