When the witches arrived at the place where their fellow subordinates were punished to death behind the mountains and near the clear river, their eyes glanced at the corpses that emitted the smell, making their noses wrinkled as I covered their noses with their "It's disgusting no matter how much you look at it." It was a woman who had long wavy hair, said while staring at the corpse.

Another fellow witch nodded their head in agreement. "Let's not continue to discuss this. Besides, it seems that no one has come here and there still haven't been beings who found out about this that's why we can rest assured and burn it all." The tall man who had long legs and pale skin, put something on the corpse that made the corpse flicker and then it emits smoke before it started burning.

While watching the corpse be burned to ashes, the tall man clicked his tongue in disgust.

"Rile is careless. It was a good thing that no one was able to find out about these corpses or else we would not be able to take the identity of these maidens and use their identity to get inside the territory to gather information. He's a failure." The woman who had long wavy hair rolled her eyes. "No matter how much you roast him for being a piece of a trace, it doesn't change the fact that he's already dead."

One of the short women who was eating a lollipop also spoke coldly. "Can you stop fighting about those? Besides, we should also start disguising ourselves as these disgusting poor young maidens so that we can get what we want. It won't be best if we would anger the witch leader again. You see, she almost... hah..."

At the end of her sentence, she let out a heavy sigh and didn't plan to continue her words but even so, the witches who were present with them right now could understand what she was going to say but they didn't say anything about it and just like the short woman, they just let out a heavy sigh and decided to cut off that topic.

Just when they were about to leave and start to take out their spell when suddenly, the tall woman who was supposed to be their temporary leader for now, jolted and her eyes suddenly narrowed and her face became serious.

Even the other witches noticed the changes in her aura, making them stop moving as they all looked at her with confusion as if they were waiting for their temporary leader to speak.

It wasn't until their temporary leader let out a mocking laugh that her eyes became even more dangerous.

"Someone come here." She coldly said with an evil grin plastered on her lips and she emits such a strong murderous aura.

One of the witches brows furrowed as she tried to feel the presence of nature to see if someone came here but she didn't feel anything nor there was something strange left in this place, making her face wrinkled. "You know that I am not doubting your words but how come I couldn't feel any of their presence if someone comes here?" The witch who had been wearing glasses, asked while looking at their temporary leader.

The tall woman, their temporary leader let out a chuckle. A chuckle that was filled with mockery and anger.

"Did they think that I am a fool and can't sense that they come here and deliberately erase their traces? Foolish. Those people who found out about these corpses probably are strong beings especially since they have such an ability to erase their traces carefully to the point that even a witch, who is proficient in this area almost didn't notice about this."

Hearing what their temporary leader said, their eyes shook as they were filled with fear.

"What should we do now? If the witch leader finds out that we fail and that someone else managed to see these corpses, for sure that she would be angered. I don't want to become ashes..." One of the witches softly uttered as tears brimmed her eyes and her shoulder was shaking.

Seeing her that way, even the other witches who were pretending to be tough earlier, became soft as their bodies also shook from fear.

They don't fear anyone other than the witch leader. To one whom they see as their God, their Lord.

The temporary leader looked at them coldly then she let out a sigh and spoke coldly. "Stop being fussy. You won't be burned by the witch leader since the one who did this thing and who was careless wasn't us but rather Rile who already turned ashes. The witch leader won't blame us. She won't blame us as long as we perform our mission well."

"If that's the case, then we should kill those who found out about these corpses. We should silence them." Then the male witch who said those, glanced at their temporary leader and asked for her opinion, "What do you think about it?"

The temporary leader looked at him and sighed. "That would be the case too since we can't let them run away. However, the bad news is that I can't scent them or determine who they are but my intuition tells me that they are strong too. They managed to hide their scent and erased their traces."

When the witches heard this, their brows furrowed as they still couldn't help but worry about the punishment that was waiting for them especially if their witch leader would know about it sure that she would be angered to death and started killing them. "Then what should we do now?" One of the witches asked as her voice quivered.

The temporary leader let out a cold sigh as her whole body exudes murderous intent.

"Don't worry too much about it. Let's just leave it like that since even if we spend our time trying to figure out who they were, we will just waste our time. It would be best if we should start with our mission first." The temporary leader calmly yet coldly said. "B-But... if we disguised ourselves as those young maidens, what if those people who found out about these corpses told the family of these young maidens?" One of the witches raised the question and everyone else nodded their heads as if they also agreed with her words.

The temporary leader looked at them with a frown and disgust. "Can't you all use your brains? We are witches. We can just erase their memories and implant false memories. Isn't that our specialty?!"

When they heard their temporary leader's words, they lowered their head in shame as they screamed inside of their heart, screaming that they were fools and almost forgot that they were witches who had those kinds of abilities and it was their specialty too other than being able to disguise themselves as someone else and could even copy their movements and even their habits.

They are good at making their target's guard down. It would be much easier for them to strike and do their missions

The temporary leader took a glance at the corpses and found that there was not even a flesh or a bone that didn't turn ashes, she then looked away and coldly announced.

"Let's set off."

After she said that, she disappeared in the wind.

The witches who were present also disappeared along with their temporary leader and followed her toward their destination.

On Yunifer's side, they were already inside the hall of one of the wealthy villagers who live in this city and then used his hall as their meeting place.

After what they have seen at the back of the mountain near the river, Yunifer, Lawrence, Ishid, Drake, and the Shadow Guard disappeared but she knows that he was also watching them carefully, Yunifer had already commanded them along with the Shadow Guard earlier to gather the family of those twenty young maidens who was brutally and cruelly killed.

Now that they had already finished gathering the family and they were already sitting on the chairs and their eyes didn't leave them.

"W-Who are you? What happened to our daughter?" One of the fathers of the maiden asked while his hand was fidgeting and staring at them.

Yunifer didn't remove the mask that she was wearing, along with her mates since it would be better if they won't know their faces nor their names especially if those witches would do something to these families and use their ability to see through their memories. It would be bad if they would recognize them.

Since those witches are good at playing hide-and-seek, then they should also cooperate with their game too. After all, it would be boring if they are the only ones who are playing hide-and-seek without the seeker.

Yunifer didn't plan to keep playing with them using her words, rather she wanted to tell them straightforwardly.

"Your daughters who were missing were dead." Yunifer calmly said while looking at their micro-expressions of them.

Their ears buzzed and their mind turned blank after hearing what Yunifer said. However, one of them protest what she said.

"How dare you speak to our daughters like that! They are not dead! Do you have evidence that could prove to us what you said?" The other father exclaimed with a reddened face while a vein throbbed on his neck while pointing at Yunifer. Yunifer just coldly glanced at them and let out a sigh. "What I said was the truth and these are my evidence."

After she said that, she handed them the iPad in her hands that had those photos which had been captured by Lawrence, towards the family so that they can watch it if they recognized the body of their daughter.

However, how could these parents not recognize their daughters even if their faces were disfigured?

Their eyes reddened as they sobbed while screaming their daughter's name. They hugged each other while crying and trying to brainwash themselves that it wasn't the truth, but they know that this was the reality which made it hard for them to accept. Seeing them being like that, Yunifer's heart was clenched. It was as if she saw the figure of her parents in them.
