Betrayed By Everyone, Loved By Four -
Betrayed By Everyone Loved by Four Chapter 92
"You are going to be fine Millie." Leo said from the front seat.
Dad might not let them come in with me, but he let them drive me. And all of them argeed to wait out here in the car for me to get done. No matter how long it takes.
I am extremely thankful for them. Just knowing that they will be right out here when I'm done is enough for me. Dad even said that I can spend the rest of my day with them after this. Well, he said we have to be home for dinner. That was more of Mom though. She said it's about time they all came over together.
Hopefully, this doesn't take too long. It's already 3 p.m. By the time we are done, it might be dinner time. Not that I will care I'm sure. Food, and all my boyfriends? That sounds perfect.
Please, that sounds like every day for me anyways.
Still, I'm nervous. I've been ringing my hands together. It took me three hours to get ready. I want to look appropriate, but also show that I am strong. I want James to think that he has no affect on me, while I make him pay for what he tried to do.
Yet.. the thought of seeing James again is making me want to throw up. Espeically withouth the comfort of my four guys. At least my dad will be there. Mom too. Not only them, but all four of my boyfriends dads will be present as well. They have made it very clear that they all want to take part in this case. Epecially since we are pretty positive they will bring up my relationship with their sons at some point.
Atlas placed his large hand on top of both of mine to make me stop my fidgeting.
"Babygirl, it is going to be just fine. Our dads know what they are doing. If James so much as even breathes in your direction, they will tear him down." He told me.
I looked into his bright blue eyes.
"And you'll all be right here?" I asked.
"Yes." Leo answered.
I looked at him in the drivers seat.
"What if one of you has to pee?" I asked.
"I'm sure Atlas has a water bottle in here somewhere." Milo said teasingly from the passanger seat.
"What if someone comes by, and tells you you can't wait here?" I asked.
"Won't happen." Oliver said from my right.
"What if James brings in a gun, and holds the place up? Or-o-or if he plants a bomb somewhere? Or has one of his fan girls do it?" I rushed out in panic.
Leo turned in his seat to face me.
"Stop beign ridiculous Millie." He stated making Milo snort.
I nodded.
"Ridiculous. Right. I'm just..." I trailed off.
"Panicking." Oliver finished for me.
"I'm just panicking. Ha. No big deal." I tried to laugh it off.
"Listen to me princess." Leo said.
My eyes snapped to his deep greens.
"You are going to march in there with your head held high. Just like you do every day at school. You are going to clear your head, and do your best to relax. If you can't, just think about all of us sitting out here waiting for you. You will be protected in there. Nothing is going to happen." He said sternly.
"You promise?" I whimpered out.
"I promise." Leo stated confidently.
I let out a shaky breath.
"Okay." I said nodding my head.
Just then, my dad tapped on the window at Atlas's side. He looked at me, and tapped his watch. Then he pointed to the building.
"Okay, guess it's time to go in." I said.
"You got this babygirl."
"Just breathe angel."
"We will be here when you get out cupcake."
"Remember, head high princess."
I nodded to all of them.
Atlas opened the door, and got out. I climbed out of the car after him. Atlas kissed my forehead, and gave me a little push in the direction of my parents.
As soon as I reached my parents, Mom clung onto my arm. Dad wrapped his arm around my shoulders. Then they walked me up the steps of the large court house.
The place looks exactly like in SVU, but a tad bit smaller. It's all white, with large pillars in the front. There are people littered on the many steps. It's all a little.. weird. Strange. Overwhelming.
Once we got to the doors Dad let me go to open one for us. Mom ushered me, while still clutching onto me. I'm pretty sure Mom is just as terrified as I am. I feel bad for her.
Head high princess.
Leo is right. I can at least fake it for the sake of my mother. Both of my parents. I can do this.
So, I squared my shoulders, jutted out my chin, and walked through the doors with my mother. We were immediately met with Adam, Derek, Henry, and Marcus. Dad walked over to them, and mom and I followed.
The inside of this building is a bit brighter than I expected. The lights are florescent of course. The walls are white, with all kinds of things lining them. The floor is white marble. I can hear hushed voices, phones rining, and the clicking of heels against the marble floor.
"Hey Millie, how are you feeling?" Adam asked.
"Nervous." I admitted.
Adam gave me a small smile.
"Today will most likely be quick. We were just assigned a judge. Judge Lockern is going to be the one over looking the case. She will listen to the basics, and then give us another date to come back." He told us.
"Is that good?" Mom asked. "The judge I mean."
Adam nodded. "She knows us well. She is a very good hearted woman, but a hard ass. Jugde Lockern will want to hear all the details, she will most likely let a lot of questions slide because of that. That will be both good, and bad for us." He said. "O-okay." Mom said.
Adam put his hand on Mom's shoulder.
"It's going to be fine." He told her.
Then Adam looked at me.
"James will be present for all of this. You do not have to look at him, or pay him any attention. You still have a restraining order against him. He is still not allowed to talk to you, or come close you." He told me. I nodded.
"Don't worry Millie, everything will be fine." Henry assured me.
I gave him a nod.
"We are going to be late if we don't make it upstairs now." Derek announced.
With that, we all headed for the elevators. We are going up to the third floor. Mom never let go of me. I tried with all of my mite to not ring my hands, or fidget at all.
The elevator dinged, and the doors opened. My eyes landed right on James. My breath caught in my throat, and he glared at me. Derek moved to stand directly in front of me, and I let out a breath.
"You just follow behind Derek, and stay beside me Millie." Marcus said as he stood next to me.
I gave him a nod, and we all existed the elevator. We walked down the hall, and I stared at Derek's back the entire time. Is it just me, or does Milo look more like his dad than I thought? How can someones back look familiar to me? Derek pulled open a door, and stepped to the side. Adam gestured for me to walk in so I did. Then I followed behind him to the front of the room.
Judge Lockern is sitting on the bench. Her eyes flickered up when we entered. Adam nodded his head to her. Then he opened the little swinging door for me.
The Judge is a bit older than I was expecting. She's a small woman, maybe in her late 50's. Her dark brown hair is graying around her face. And she has deep brown eyes that seem kind.
Mom, and Dad have to sit behind me now. Which is nerve wracking. Mom almost didn't let go of me.
I sat at the large table, and all four of my lawyers sat with me. Then I heard the door open again. I tried to keep my eyes forward as James, and his team of lawyers sat down.
"Alright, get on with it." Judge Lockern said.
Adam stood, and so did one of James's lawyers.
"In the case of Holmebrook vs Melrose, defense, how do you plead?" Judge Lockern asked.
"Not guilty your honor." James lawyer announced.
"We will go to trail then." Judge Locker announced.
"We request a date within the next three weeks your honor." James lawyer said.
Judge Lockern's eyes snapped to his.
"You will get whatever date I give you Mr. Maroney." She stated firmly.
"Then we would like to request for a revision on the restraining order Miss. Holmebrooke has against Mr. Melrose." Mr. Maroney said.
My eyes went wide. What? Why would they want that? What does that even mean?
"For what purpose?" Adam asked.
"James needs to go back to school." Mr. Maroney stated.
"Mr. Melrose has other options of schools, and online schooling as well, your honor. I see no need for a revision." Adam addressed Judge Lockern.
"Yes, but this is the school that Mr. Melrose attended before. He was on sports teams. Has his friends there." Mr. Maroney argued.
Adam scoffed. "With all due respect your honor, Mr. Melrose is on trial for attempted rape. Are you sure you want to give him a revision that allows him access to a plethora of young vulnerable girls?" He asked.
Mr. Maroney laughed. "My client is innocent Mr. Whitlock. Not only that, but the school is large. I'm sure the two of them can keep their distance. Mr. Melrose is a young boy, he needs to socialize." He argued.
I fought down a scoff. Keep our distance? I'd love nothing more than to get all the distance I can from James. He's the one with a problem.
"Your honor-" Adam started, but Judge Lockern cut him off.
"No need to keep arguing Mr. Whitlock." She said, and then looked at Mr. Maroney. "I see here that Mr. James Melrose was already arrested for violation of the current restraining order. Doesn't seem like he can keep his distance." The Judge said.
"It was misunderstaning your honor-" Mr. Maroney said, but Adam interrupted him.
"I have video proof that James Melrose waited outside of the school for my client. Just to harrass her. There is footage of one of my clients friends reminding James Melrose of said restraining order, and he continued to try to touch her after that." He stated. Then Adam turned his head to Mr. Maroney.
"It seems your client already can't do what he is told, and you want us to allow him more freedom? I don't think so." He said.
"Alright, I've heard enough." Judge Lockern said. "Current restraining order stays. James can go to a different school, or take online classes. Trail date is set for March 20th. Dismissed."
Then she hit her gavel down, finalizing everything.
"Come on Millie." Marcus said as they all stood.
I stood as well, and hurried to my parents. I can feel James's eyes on my back. Mom clung to me once again, and we practically ran out of the court room.
Mom didn't stop until we were in the lobby. Then she finally stopped to turn to my lawyers. I can see out of the corner of my eye as James walks passed us, and out of the court house. "Well, we have two, and a half weeks to prepare Millie." Adam said.
"Is that good?" Dad asked.
Adam nodded. "We will have to meet up more to go over questions. You have to be prepared for everything that is going to happen." He told me.
"Okay." I said.
Adam gave me a smile. "Everything is going to be alright Millie." He said.
Everyone keeps saying that. I just hope they're right.
