Billionaire's Regret
Chapter 37:

Aaron reaches for the ringing phone. He looks over his shoulder making certain he was alone.

"Hello Hanna,"

"What's going on? You are very quiet." She asks urgently.

"I know. Everything is a mess but I am doing my best to sort through the rubble."

"What is Annie up to?"

"Hanna to put it bluntly, she is acting one kind of bitch. I do have the sense though she was playing one hell of a game. We both are."

"That's one thing about her Aaron, she only reveal her cards when she wants to. Gregor has taken her son. My daughter will be any type of chameleon. Whatever you do, don't ever lose sight of her." "I promise Hanna. I daily regret that I divorced her the first time."

"I know."

"Whatever drug cocktail Grace has given me has severely messed with my recollection."

"You are a very wealthy man. Once you have your family together, I want you to disappear that no one find you again."

"Hanna thank you for believing in me."

"Take care. I am not going to call again. You know how to find me," the line went dead.

The knock was soft on the door. Aaron quickly pulled on his shirt to cover the scars on his back.

"Enter," he calls.

The young girl makes a nervous appearance.

"Sorry...sir; they ask that you come to the dining room." She avoided looking at him.

"Thank you. I will be there in a minute." He smiles still enjoying the hidden fact that he can see. But he was no fool; Danny did warn him he was aware that he can see.

He quickly changed his clothes. He walks to the dining room. He quickly hides his surprise. As usual he smiles as he enters. He went and stood beside his wife. "Good evening everyone." From behind the dark glasses he studies the situation. He frowns slightly looking at the other two men. One of them looks official.

"Is this the fool?" the man asked before looking at his very expensive watch.

"Aaron, I want you to meet Annie's soon to be husband." Gregor Damian said seriously.

"I don't understand?" he smiles as usual.

"What don't you get, fool?" the man moved towards Aaron getting into his face. Aaron keeps smiling looking directly in front of him.

"Annie is married to me."

"That's why we are here. You are going to sign documents setting her free." The man said full of confidence.

"I don't want to divorce Annie." Aaron said simply. He moved closer to her searching and kneels beside her. He reached for her hand. "Annie, my dear..."

"Sign the documents Aaron."

"Why?"

"I no longer want to be shackled to you. You couldn't even buy me a proper ring. You couldn't even take me on a honeymoon. You can't even make me happy. The only thing you can do is plant roses. Where is the wealth you once had?" "Annie, I am working on something that could make us rich again. Don't leave me."

"Enough Aaron sign the documents." Gregor suddenly orders.

"Gregor, do you mind if the two of us talk for a moment?" the man asked.

Aaron steps into the garden. The roses' fragrance smells fantastic. He turns to face the man with his usual smile. "What is your name?" he asks. "Sign the documents."

"I don't want to. Annie is my wife."

"You are starting to make me furious. I don't like that."

"What are you going to do about that?" Aaron said smiling. He suddenly hears shuffling behind him. The three men quickly grabbed hold of him. "What is this?"

"A beat down fool,"

The first punch hit Aaron on the mouth. He instantly spit blood. The second punch was right in the middle of his stomach. He tries his best to catch his breath. The two men holding him suddenly let go. As he dropped onto the ground, he was repeatedly kicked.

"Don't stomp his hand. I still need him to sign the documents." The man said sharply.

Aaron felt him being dragged back into the house. He was forced to sit on the chair. "Sign the documents."

Aaron slowly looked up and wiped his hand across his face. His blood covers the ring. He feels a shudder going through his body like when he placed the ring on the first time.

"Aaron, get this over with. You can't really afford me in reality. I am young. I want to enjoy life. I want to fly all over the world." Annie said.

"Do you love him?"

"We both can grow to love each other. Stop humiliating yourself and set me free."

"Annie, I can also give you everything you want. Don't do this."

"You can't. You are a gardener." Gregor said annoyed. "For a moment I thought you might be a threat to my business. I believed the wrong people. Stop wasting my time. I can do with Annie whatever I want." "Wealth can grow from the earth too, sir. Don't force me to divorce my wife. I can give her a good life.”

"Your truth is that you live in a fantasy world. I am not telling you again, Aaron Casey. Sign those documents. Then take your things and leave my house immediately."

"Gregor, we are wasting time. We still need to deal with that other matter. My guys told me someone bought the beach house. We need to get there before they start the renovations."

"I don't know why you are so worried. I covered my tracks."

Aaron carefully takes notes of the conversation. He reached for the pen and scrawled his name. He slowly stood looking everyone in the eye. "You all will regret what you did tonight." He disappeared into the garden.

Aaron carefully opened the garden shed. He slipped inside closing it again. He quickly walked to the corner and removed the tarp that covers the powerful motorcycle. He can still taste the blood in his mouth. He lifts his hand and wipes across

his mouth. The ring absorbs his blood again. His heart suddenly starts to beat very fast making him drop onto the ground. The forgotten memory of him as a teenager unfolds like a slow motion movie pulling him back into his past...
