Blurred Lines 1: CHASE -
Chapter 28
~Sofia~
Meeting the right person at the wrong time is a myth. They are either a blessing or a lesson, but f**k... it. hurts!
I slammed the shot glass on the counter, and the crowd cheered. 'Sunshine! Sunshine! Sunshine!' the bar-goers rumbled, cheering my name.
"Whoooo!" I screamed. The alcohol burned down my throat as I tossed back the last tequila shot on the line. of ten. I grabbed the five hundred Reals, waving the price set by the bartender.
How did I end up here? When Chase dragged me out of the fundraiser, he asked me where I wanted to go. I told him I didn't know, but I wanted to do something different, spontaneous, and out of my comfort zone. So he took me here to Eros' club, 'Nostalgia." We looked out of place. I was in an evening dress, and Chase was in a tux, but what the hell? I asked for something spontaneous, and I'm living in the moment.
Chase sat at the end of the bar, watching me from a distance. He was holding a glass which I assume was bourbon, but he hadn't been drinking. He's just watching me let loose.
I waved the bills in my hand, sashaying toward him. "Did you see that?" I slurred. The tequila made me dizzy. Chase smiled. He discarded his suit jacket, removed his bow tie, and rolled the sleeves of his black dress shirt up to his elbows. Dust of soft chest hair peeked from the open buttons of his top. Dark blond hair mused from his fingers.
"I did. Congratulations," he said, blue eyes twinkling with amusement in the dimmed light of the bar.
"What?" I gripped the back of the empty stool he reserved for me, shifting from one foot to another. My shoes are killing me.
"Nothing?" he took a sip from his glass, eyes never leaving mine.
I rolled my eyes and called the bartender to refill Chase's glass and a bottle of beer for me. I placed a bill on the counter. "My treat. I'm richer by five hundred reals tonight," I said, tipping my chin up.
Chase chuckled, shaking his head.
I leaned on the counter, watching the crowd dance to the beat spilling from the speaker. My world spun with the laser lights. Everyone on the dancefloor was so alive, as though they've got nothing to worry about. I wonder who among them got cheated on by their partners. Who among them is suffering from life's challenges, hoping to escape even for just a fraction of a moment.
I want to get lost, just like everyone else... even for a moment.
I grabbed Chase's hand. "Let's dance."
"No," he said pointedly.
"Come on," I pressed, pouting. If there was one thing Chase couldn't do, even if his life depended on it, it was dancing.
"No, Sofia." His use of my name was a warning.
I gaped at him, hoping my puppy eyes would convince him to do this just this once. "For me?" I said, fluttering. my lashes. "How about this? A dance for a favor." The alcohol is fueling this fake boldness, so I added, "a favor for every song." "Don't make a deal with the Devil, Sunshine," Chase smirked, downing the content of his glass.
"You? Devil?" I murmured, pinching his cheeks. He grimaced, glaring at me. "How can my guardian angel be the devil? I know you, Chase... You're so mushy inside," I teased, giggling.
He gripped my wrist. "Stop." He stood, towering over me. Let's do this shit," he grumbled, whisking me to the dance floor.
The musk of sweat, alcohol, cigarettes, and different scents enveloped us. I lift my arms, swaying my body, bobbing my head to the beat. I don't understand what the song was about, but who cares?
I let loose, getting lost in the rhythm. I like this. I like the feeling that I can do whatever the hell I want without a care in the world.
No one knows what's going on inside my head. I can pretend I am okay, even for just one night. I want to forget crossing paths with Kyle, seeing him with Katerina, and hearing him say, 'I love you! I want to forget. who I am for once. I gasped when large hands gripped my waist.
Chase.
At some point, I might have turned my back on Chase. He pulled me against him. My back pressed against his front. The music faded into the background. My heartbeat got louder as the seconds ticked by.
He guided my hips, going against the beat. We are slow dancing in the middle of the jumping and roaring crowd.
His hand skimmed my hips, the side of my breast ghosting the underside of my heavy swells. I pressed my eyes shut, biting my lips. His hand continued to my bare arms until our hands' molded together. Rough fingers twined with mine.
I pressed myself further against him. Feeling every ridge of his body. I was reminded of our kiss, and how good it was to be held by him.
Gooseflesh covered my burning skin. I was hot everywhere, and I don't think the claustrophobic dance floor has anything to do with that.
My eyes parted when Chase guided my arms around his neck. As if they had a mind of their own. My fingers toyed with the tips of his hair. Due to our position, my breast was pushed forward. If anyone bothers to look my way, they'd have a good eyeful of my hardening nipples.
Chase's hands skimmed my side, tracing back their path until he was gripping my hips. We kept swaying against the rapid beats, but I couldn't think of anything apart from the fire brewing inside me.
Soft, warm lips pressed against my shoulder, burning my bare skin. My lips parted as Chase mapped the columns of my neck and drew my earlobes between his lips. "Hmmm," I moaned, not bothering to suppress the sound It was too loud for anyone to notice.
His hands slid to my front, one splayed flat on my belly, keeping me close to his body. My eyes fluttered open. as he ground the swell between his legs on my lower back. This isn't the first time I felt how well-endowed he was, but it's still surprising that I could draw this reaction from Chase. His free hand skimmed lower. My legs wobbled, unable to follow his lead anymore, when his rough fingers grazed the side of my dress, touching my bare legs through the slit..
My heart knocks on the walls of my ribcage, understanding where this is going.
"Tell me to stop," he murmured, releasing my earlobes. His fingers traced the edges of my thong. If he'd investigate further, We'd find me soaking wet for him. "Sofia..." He groaned, giving me a choice to stop this or let it go on.
I bit my lip, tipping my head back a little, catching a glimpse of his darkening eyes.
"Fuck," he grunted, drawing me closer to him. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. His fingers slide. under the flimsy material of my underwear, touching my mound.
I could blame this recklessness on the alcohol but the thought of Chase touching me in the middle of the dancefloor, surrounded by hundreds of strangers, enticed excitement within me.
The ache in my core grew as Chase leisurely pushed my panties to the side. I inhaled sharply at the first graze of his finger on my clit. The small bundle of nerves had already been pulsing before he touched me.
He skated his fingers over my throbbing spot, sliding down toward the source of my wetness. A moan tumbled past my lips as he slid his fingers up and down my most sensitive spot.
I released his neck, gripping his forearms instead. I needed something to hold on to because my legs couldn't keep me upright. He ran his finger back to my opening, gradually slipping one of his fingers inside. 'Oh my God."
I whimpered. My head spun with adrenaline.
Chase knew where to touch me and how to touch me. His fingers showed me exactly how well he knew the female anatomy. His middle finger pumped into me with precision, slowly poking the spot that drove me wild.
I tipped my head to the side, searching for his lips, and he gave it. The kiss was not like the one we had shared before. This time, it was demanding, urgent, and fueled with need. He swallowed the moans I released as his fingers pumped to the tune of my wildly beating heart. The faster he went, the quicker my heart raced.
I chased the feel of his fingers in me while I relished the taste of his mouth. A mixture of mint and bitterness from the alcohol.
Chase bit my lip, adding another finger into his ministration, drawing my climax within seconds. I arched my back, shuddering as I coat his fingers with my release. We pulled apart and stared into each other's eyes. As though a bucket of ice water was poured into my head, I realized the gravity of what had transpired between us.
