Blurred Lines 1: CHASE -
Chapter 50
~Chase-
I blinked up. Moonlight peeks through the leaves' gaps, dancing around Sofia and me under the tree canopy. What the f**k am I doing? I thought, combing Sofia's hair with my fingers.
I told myself I'd be a total gentleman tonight, but everything I did was the exact opposite. From staking my claim on her before Andre, the quickie under the tree, and now this. I f****d her against a tree, overlooking how punishing the trunk would've been on her back. Sofia whimpered when I pushed off the ground. My c**k was still hard inside of her. I groaned, feeling her walls clenched around me.
'Stop thinking with your d**k!"
Tree. Sofia's back. Need to check it.
I removed her from being impaled on me. She moaned. Our mingled juice streamed from her pussy to my c**k, reminding me of another mishap. I f****d her without protection.
My throat tightened, but I needed to calm myself.
I ran my hand over her back, feeling the bruises on her skin. "Fuck! Are you okay?" I asked, cupping her face. She giggled. She actually laughed, nodding. "Yeah. That was out of this world." "Reckless, you mean," I stated, helping her to her feet.
It's not helping my sanity that she's fucking naked. Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on FindNovel.net. Visit FindNovel.net to read the complete chapters for free. The moonlight outlined her perfect curves. She looked up at me with those big blue eyes I was utterly becoming familiar with. Even in my sleep, I could still see her looking at me like that. Like she could see her world in me.
I'm no good for her, but I have given up trying to stay away from her. I just can't. I tried and failed miserably.
I didn't bother picking up her dress. I'd ripped it in half. After pulling up my jeans, I scooped her bridal style and brought her inside the cabin straight to my room.
She watched me move around. I switched the overhead lights on, disappeared into the bathroom, and emerged with the first aid kit.
"Let me see." I sat down beside her.
"It's just a scratch," she murmured.
My mouth went dry when I saw what she labeled as a scratch. Her entire back had blisters. Some are worse than others. I gently cleaned and applied ointment to her skin. While doing so, I jumped onto the most important issue for tonight. "Sofia."
"Hm?"
"I forgot to use protection." Her shoulders went rigid. F**k... That's not a good sign. My mind bounced on every outcome of my carelessness.
'What if she gets pregnant?' We didn't even talk that far in our relationship. 'Do I even want to have a child, much less a family?' For the longest time, I was so sure I'd grow old alone. The image of a family with Sofia had my insides twisting oddly. "I haven't been with anyone since Kyle." She winced when I pressed too hard on the blisters on her lower back.
"Sorry."
She smiled over her shoulder. "I'm clean, if that's what you're worried about."
My brows knitted together. "I'm not worried about that." I shook my head. "Are you on birth control?"
Her eyes widened. I could practically hear the gear shift in her head. She murmured a shaky no.
Goddammit!
I kept my composure, seeing fear cross her face. "Hey, everything is gonna be okay." She bit her lip, nodding. I reached for her, hating the worry clouding her face. "We can buy a morning-after pill."
She hummed okay as I kissed her forehead.
The continuous rap on the door pulled my attention from my laptop. I glanced at the time on the screen. Four thirty. My brows furrowed as another series of raps followed. I get zero visitors here in the cabin. Only a handful of people knew I owned this property. Drawing out the Colt 45 from the hidden compartment in the kitchen drawer, I clutched it behind my back and headed for the door.
"It's me," Rafa announced, knowing how my mind works.
I sighed. The knot on the back of my neck loosened as I opened the door. "What are you doing here?"
"Where's your phone?" He skirted past me straight to the kitchen. Knowing the cabin's interior, he moved around as if he'd been residing here.
"Charging." I trailed behind him and secured the gun back in the hidden compartment.
"And Sofia?" he asked, fumbling with the coffee maker.
"Sleeping," I murmured, going back to my laptop on the breakfast bar.
While the coffee brewed, he faced me and folded his arms. Rafa is not a morning person. His hair was sticking in every direction, and he was still in his sweats
"What's the real score between you two?"
I kept my gaze on reading Michelle's email. My brows knitted from Rafa's question and the email's content. Mr. Montiero is asking for a meeting. 'Urgent' was in bold capital letters.
My biological father and I haven't talked since he handed me the CEO position at Montiero Holdings. All our communications have been business related and go through our secretaries. "Why?" I mumbled, typing a reply.
"Are you serious about her?" Rafa probed.
I lift my gaze, meeting his humorless gaze. My forehead dreased. "Why the sudden interest in my relationship with Sofia?" I retorted instead.
'Am I serious about her?' If 'serious' meant wanting to be with her, not needing anyone else, then yes. But if 'serious' meant, do I see myself marrying her and having a kid? Then it's a maybe.
Being uncertain was something I was unfamiliar with. It kept me awake all night, even after going for another round with Sofia. I made sure to use protection.
Last night's condom mishap was a wake-up call. She had the power to evict the rational part of my brain. from my head. I need to be more careful around her.
Rafa turned, avoiding my gaze, and busied himself, pulling out two mugs from the cabinets. "I have good news and bad news..." he murmured, filling the mugs with coffee. The dark liquid swirled as he passed one to me. "Technically, it's both bad news, depending on the score between you and Sofia."
My lips were set in a hard line. The suspense was poking me the wrong way. "Just f*****g spill it," I groaned, taking a sip of my coffee.
"I've located Derek Collins." My face twisted, not because of the straight black coffee. "He passed. through customs an hour ago."
