-Sofia-

I groaned and stretched my limbs, curling my body into a ball as I snuggled deeper into the duvet. I was naked. Chase's scent fused with the musk of s*x kept my insides warm, and the silk-like sheets kept my skin

warm.

"Oh, what a date that was. I smiled at last night's memories. My insides fluttered, and my lady parts started to wake up, too. I opened my eyes and searched for Chase.

He wasn't in bed. I rolled on my back and took in his room's interior. Landscape portraits in wooden frames dotted the walls. Peering at them, I recognize a few. They were the same as the paintings in his office. An image of their old house in Boston. The lavenders we planted on the corner of their white picket fence. The swing he and my brothers made for me under the oak tree. No wonder they looked familiar. I wonder who was the artist behind these paintings.

I reached for the gray shirt folded neatly on the foot of the bed, pulled it over my head, and headed downstairs.

Morning lights passed through the huge glass windows. was in awe of the view of the lake behind the cabin. Instead of following the delicious aroma of the coffee, I went the other way and stepped out to the balcony.

I closed my eyes, inhaled the fresh air, and relished the green scenery as I opened them.

I could do a repeat of this on a daily basis. Falling asleep next to Chase and waking up to this gorgeous view with the prospect of spending a weekend filled with cuddles and lovemaking made me smile. I know I shouldn't let myself get lost in this bliss, but why not? My contract will be over soon....

The door slid open behind me, putting a stop to my wandering thoughts. Chase's brawny arms instantly enveloped me.

"Hey, gorgeous," he murmured, kissing the side of my head.

"Good morning." I smiled, leaning closer to him, his thick clothes pressed against my back.

I turned, skated my hands over his chest, and curled them around his neck. "Are we going somewhere?"

He wore a white shirt, leather jacket, jeans, and biker boots. His hair was still damp against my fingertips. His face hardened, but he blinked it away instantly. I thought I just imagined it.

"They need me at Fortaleza," he said, drawing me closer.

My face fell. I was looking forward to seeing the rest of this property. Before we went to sleep, he promised to show me around. I conditioned my mind that I'd spend the entire weekend with Chase outdoors, getting our hands dirty... getting dirty. He hooked a finger beneath my chin. "I'll make it up to you, Sunshine."

I groaned, pouting as I clutched the lapel of his jacket, tugging him down for a searing kiss. Chase's hand sailed down my side, mapping my body's curves and filling his hand with a healthy amount of my a*s. I melted in his arms, but Chase was the first to pull away, resting his forehead against mine.

"If I had another choice, I'd spend this weekend exploring your body, Sofia. But there's been an issue with the plantation. A certain Rogelio Mendez showed up with documents declaring his ownership of the plantation. I need to speak with him and his father," his molars ground as he continued. "A few farmers already came forward claiming they've been harassed by Rogelio."

I shook my head, pressing a finger against his lips. "I understand. We still have time," I said, and his jaw

ticked. I frowned. "Is there more?"

He sighed, his facial muscles relaxing. "Nothing. I was looking forward to this weekend," he murmured, voicing my exact thought.

"Me too."

"I'm sorry I can't walk you inside," Chase murmured apologetically. I handed the helmet to him. He gripped my wrist, wrapped an arm around my waist, and drew me for a kiss.

I asked Chase to drop me off at the back parking lot of the apartment complex to avoid the odds of anyone recognizing him. Tenants rarely use the back entrance, yet anyone could see us making out this early in the day.

Pulling away, we stared into each other's eyes. Chase drew his lower lip between his teeth. He looked as though there was something he wanted to say, so I asked, "is something wrong?"

He shook his head 'no. "I'll miss you."

"Aw, I'll miss you too," I murmured, crushing our mouths together.

"Go on now. Drive safely," I said, playfully biting his lower lip.

We can't seem to get enough of each other's lips. Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on FindNovel.net. Visit FindNovel.net to read the complete chapters for free. I don't know how long we'd been kissing, but things started to heat up. I clawed at his shoulder, but Harley prevented me from climbing him like a tree. He's still straddling Harley, which made making out a bit awkward

"Don't you own a car?" I asked. I grew to love Harley and Chase looked hot whenever he drove her, but I realize I haven't seen him drive a car. Even at the cabin, his garage was empty apart from another old motorcycle, more like a metal scrap. "She is faster than cars," he reasoned, toying with a bunch of my locks. My knees bumped into Harley. "And girls loved me riding her."

My belly tightened as my cheeks reddened at his innuendo. I remember how he rode me alright, in more ways than one.

Chase smirked. "Stop looking at me like that."

"Like what." His touch and the intensity of his gaze left me chasing my breath even when I was only standing. He buried his face in the crook of my neck, licking my skin. "Like you want me to walk you upstairs and rip your clothes again." "I'd definitely like that," I moaned, "but you're gonna miss your plane."

He squeezed my a*s. "You're forgetting I own the plane."

I groaned. My libido was taking over my brain. "Chase... go now."

He sighed and loosened his hold on me. "Get inside before I take you with me."

I'd definitely want to see the plantation, but Chase said it would be best to stay behind. He had no idea what extent of harassment Rogelio was capable of. With me safe and sound at my apartment, he could focus on pacifying the situation if worse comes to worst. I giggled and kissed him once more. He was still eye-hawking me as I climbed the apartment's back entrance threshold. I waved at him. He nodded and gestured with his hand, urging me to go inside. I heard Harley's gentle purr as the door closed behind me. Even if our weekend didn't go as planned, a smile lingered on my lips as I reached my floor. Laughter drifted from Maria's unit through the hallway. Her door was wide open as I walked by. Her apartment's interior was almost the same as mine. A couch faced the door, but the person sitting on her couch made me halt on my step.

I did a double take, blinking as if seeing a ghost.

"Derek?" I whispered.

He was laughing with Maria. As though he heard me, he turned and grinned at me.

"Oh my God," I mumbled, and ran into my brother's arms through Maria's door.

He caught me and swayed me like I was a mere child.
