Chapter 624 What Can You Do With My Breakthrough

"How...how can it be?" Martin mumbled. Soar, Terrence, and the others in the Mind Palace Model couldn't believe their eyes either. They all thought what was happening was simply impossible.

"I wonder when Ricky came to possess such great power," Soar said in a somewhat uncomfortable tone. "He didn't even let me know about this new power."

"Maybe he didn't even know he could tap into such great power either. I have a feeling that Ricky has been gambling and taking risks recently. Perhaps he bet on the advancement of his radiance power," Terrence said.

"If that's the case, then he has succeeded. Perhaps he will be able to take control of this battle now,” Samson said.

At the same time, Ricky fixed his eyes on Martin, who was starting to look slightly angry.

"I told you that once I got out, it would mean that I had new confidence in myself. I am confident that I can beat you,” he answered Martin in a cold voice.

"You think that you're a master here and that you're invincible. The real facts are that you are nothing but delusional. Your current power doesn't really belong to you at all. Maybe you can kill us this time, but eventually you will become a part of the Ghost Corridor and the Resentment Corridor. So, you're destined to lose in the end!"

While speaking, Ricky looked increasingly domineering, which was an indication of a breakthrough. "You're just trying to enrage me and drive me crazy!" Martin said in a cold voice as he realized that was what Ricky's tactic in taunting him must have been.

"You may think so, but I don't think you can deny that there is some truth in my words. Don't you agree that your current power doesn't really belong to you?" Ricky asked.

Martin was right in thinking Ricky was trying to irritate him by trying to insult and scare him. Maybe Ricky looked somewhat cruel by doing that, but he had never viewed himself as a very kindhearted man in the first place. He would not require himself to act like an upright individual in front of such a powerful enemy as Martin. He was afraid that he would die very soon if he didn't make use of some strategy like that.

"Hahaha! You keep saying that it isn't really my power. All right. Let me show you how I will beat you, even with power that doesn't belong to me," Martin said, laughing grimly.

"Ocean of Ghosts!"

Martin exclaimed. Suddenly, his terrible body burst and merged with the endless Ghost Enlightenment around him. It was as if he had changed into an ocean of ghosts.

Then, black figures, which looked like ghosts, appeared out of the blue from the Ultimate Ghost Domain one by one. Those ghosts were completely made of Ghost Enlightenment, and they had considerable power.

Although they were not as strong as Martin was, they were quite difficult to deal with.

The ghosts attacked Ricky from all directions at the same time with all kinds of different skills. While rushing at Ricky, they shrieked and shouted. After quite a while, the four streams of light that wrapped Ricky were still motionless.

Again, the ghosts merged together into Martin's body. When he did that this time, Martin's eyes looked really dull. The dullness and the distortion on his face indicated that he had indeed gone insane.

"Hmmm! Now it's time for me to say the same thing to you that you said to me before—you're over-confident!” Ricky said in a cold voice as his eyes were fixed on Martin, who looked dull and ferocious at that moment.

After saying that, Ricky immediately sat down in a cross-legged position. He closed his eyes and concentrated on releasing his devouring runes to devour the pure enlightening power all around him. This space was already filled with ghosts and resentment, but Ricky was able to absorb the purest enlightening power from it with the help of his Devourer Zone.

It was without a doubt that Ricky had made a choice to make a breakthrough at that moment.

He was able to resist Martin's attacks with the help of the radiance power discharged from his four zones. The radiance power could only be used to resist damage, but it couldn't be used to attack. That would not change, even though Ricky tried to keep that in mind.

So, there was only one way left for Ricky to beat Martin. He had to make a breakthrough to be able to claim victory.

He had been wanting to make a breakthrough, while beating Martin was just a bonus.

He had collided against Martin repeatedly in order to make preparations for the breakthrough he was then undertaking. He would not make a breakthrough and become a middle spiritual king in the Enlightening Corridor unless his strength burst into an extreme state.

"How dare you attempt to make a breakthrough right in front of me? You really must look down upon me. I will never forgive you for that!" Martin roared when he realized that Ricky had chosen to stop speaking to him and was trying to break through right in front of him.

Ricky didn't respond to what Martin was saying. Instead, he focused his mind on the breakthrough. "You'll only be able to make a breakthrough like that in your dream. Now that you're trying to absorb the enlightening power, I'll let you absorb as much as possible,” Martin roared again. As he said that, the two marks between his eyebrows flickered again.

Then, the enlightening power of ghost and resentment seemed to seep out of thin air again, filling up the Enlightening Corridor.

Obviously, Martin was able to call on the power of the Ghost Corridor and the Resentment Corridor, and had shifted the power from the two corridors to the Enlightening Corridor. Then, he was letting Ricky absorb that power. Even if Ricky could make a breakthrough, he would also become a puppet of ghost and resentment.

"Hmmm! It seems that you don't know what I'm really capable of, Martin," Ricky said in a cold voice without opening his eyes when he sensed what Martin had done.

Then the devouring runes moved over his body continuously, devouring only the pure enlightening power. With the help of the radiance power from the four zones, the power of ghost and resentment could not get close to him.

"How can this be?" Martin roared in anger again when he saw how Ricky was able to oppose his attacks. He could hardly believe what was happening.

"Martin, this is how I make a breakthrough. What can you do against this?" Ricky sneered at Martin with his eyes still closed.

"Shit!"

Martin was too shocked to keep his composure. In fact, he almost lost his head over it. He focused his power to its furthest extreme to launch another attack on Ricky's radiance power. However, all his attempts were in vain.

Meanwhile, Ricky had completely entered the state of focus needed to make his breakthrough.

He regained his peak state while the devouring runes absorbed the enlightening power ceaselessly. He had only targeted the pure enlightening power.

He had accumulated more than enough power, so the only thing that he lacked was the enlightening power. That lack ended up being supplemented when he entered the Enlightening Corridor.

Ricky had restrained the after-effects in his body with the power from the four zones. He would not deal with them until he made his breakthrough and killed Martin.

A loud crack sounded out. All the while, it was clear Ricky's power and momentum were rising, and his enlightening power was growing.

It would not take a long time for him to make a breakthrough at that point.

Martin, who had been attacking Ricky furiously, became even more frenzied when he saw that. All of a sudden, he regained his former demeanor and calmed down however.

"Am I really still letting anger and madness control what I do?" Martin suddenly laughed at himself in disdain.

"Maybe Ricky is right in saying that my soul has been sold to ghost and resentment. Such being the case, why don't I sell something more? From now on, I don't want my soul. I only want power and I only want to kill others relentlessly."

After saying that, the horrifying power of ghost and resentment in Martin's body began growing even stronger.

By then, Martin had become a real devil.

With such thoughts in his mind, Martin closed his eyes and they moved relentlessly behind his eyelids. He was unaware of the state he was slipping into.
