Chapter 625 Made A Breakthrough and Countered Back

Even in such a critical situation, Martin appeared more composed and calmer than he had before. He was not irritated by Ricky's comments anymore, and he couldn't even recall what Ricky had said before. He was preoccupied with thoughts of revenge and hatred at that moment. "What happened to him? Why did he still appear composed despite the fact that he couldn't break Ricky's light power?” Seeing Martin's sudden change in demeanor, Soar and the others could hardly believe their eyes as they stood waiting inside the Mind Palace Model.

"It seems that he has become more strange and powerful than before," Terrence mused as a feeling of anxiety overwhelmed him.

"How could that happen? I have a nagging feeling that Martin is not blind at all. I think that he put up a front and tried to fool us with such a dirty trick. I can vaguely sense that there is a potent power within his eyes, but I can't figure out what it is," Samson stated as his face grew serious. Stroking his chin, he lost in thought over the possibilities.

"Really? Are you sure about that?" Soar and Terrence questioned him in confusion upon hearing what Samson said.

"No, it's just a gut feeling. The blood power inside my body that I inherited from my ancestors is able to influence my thoughts, so there is a good chance that I am wrong about that,” Samson calmly explained, as he scratched his head. He was greatly puzzled as to what was happening with Martin.

"Since we haven't figured out what is going on with Martin, the only thing we can do right now is wait for Ricky to make a breakthrough in his cultivation. When he succeeds in elevating his strength, no matter how powerful Martin is, I'm pretty sure that defeating him won't be much of a trouble for Ricky," Soar said with a smirk and a look of disdain flashed in his eyes.

Martin ceased to blow his energy towards Ricky's four zones. He kept himself afloat in the air with his legs crossed. He sat quietly, waiting for Ricky to make a breakthrough from his current stage.

At that moment, the process was of critical importance to Ricky. Both his accumulation of strength and his understanding of enlightening power had surpassed a lower spiritual king. Ricky had a mixed feeling of excitement and fear as he realized that he was just one step away from victory. Although the future of the fight was promising for him, Ricky still thought that it was best to err on the side of caution

Clenching his teeth, he prepared himself for the last stage. He needed to concentrate all his power to help him overcome the last obstacle before becoming a middle spiritual king.

Transferring the power of his four zones, Ricky summoned all sorts of enlightening powers inside his body and fused them with the innate strength of his elixir field. Three kinds of potent powers turned into a sharp cone and shot towards the sky. In the blink of an eye, an invisible barrier came from out of nowhere and kept on falling onto Ricky's cone. "Break it!" Ricky suddenly roared as his hands closed into tight fists.

In the next second, the power of the cone penetrated everything in the vicinity, flooding towards the invisible barrier.

Sensing the destructive force of Ricky's counterattack, they were all agape in horror. Before they could blink their eyes, they heard the crack of the barrier in the distance. After the invisible barrier broke, it turned into a thin film and disappeared without a trace from in the air. In the aftermath of the fierce collision, everything suddenly felt clear and fresh to Ricky again. That experience made him feel brand-new. Giddy with excitement, he noticed that his elixir field had been extended.

All of a sudden, his strength and all sorts of enlightening powers inside his body underwent significant changes.

There was no doubt that, after all that fighting and struggling, Ricky had finally become a worthy middle spiritual king.

Boom! Boom! A deafening sound was heard coming from Ricky, shattering the silence. A mighty aura, which was nothing less potent than Martin's, filled the entire area with terror. Slowly getting to his feet, Ricky opened his eyes and scanned his surroundings.

Although anger and bitterness had preyed upon him continually during the process, he was still filled with energy. A domineering aura exuded from within him and he was full of intense and furious fighting spirit.

"It feels so good to have such mighty power!" Ricky couldn't help but marvel at the destructive force of his innate power.

At that moment, Ricky felt like there was something strange about his existent space. He felt a chill of fear go down his spine as an oppressive feeling that came from the supreme enlightenment suddenly overtook him.

Although Ricky had just become a middle spiritual king, he already possessed absolute power, which was equal to the top level of a middle spiritual king's strength. In the Land of Legacy, one could not exist in such an area if they were at a higher rank than the top level of a middle spiritual king. That was the reason why Ricky felt such strong oppression after elevating his strength.

'lt seems that the supreme enlightenment exerted a lot of pressure on me. "It seems to me that you are very calm despite the fact that I have greatly improved my power. Your composure sent a chill through me, so I assume that you have undergone some dramatic changes in terms of your strength while I made a breakthrough,” Ricky said, as he withdrawn his rays of light of the four zones. Ricky gazed at him, his thoughts in turmoil. An ominous feeling suddenly washed over him as he couldn't fathom why Martin was acting so strange.

Ricky had a bad feeling that there was trouble brewing. It suddenly hit him that there was a good chance that Martin probably had a few other tricks up his sleeve. It sent a jolt of fear through his mind as he pictured what it would be like when Martin became more intimidating than before. What was more, he had the same strong suspicion as Samson about Martin. Behind Martin's closed eyes, it seemed that something with extreme power was about to explode outward. An atmosphere of horror dominated the entire area as they both stood in silence.

"That's so great! Ricky has finally succeeded in making a breakthrough. I knew that Martin was doomed to fail from the start when he chose Ricky as his opponent. Since Ricky has become a middle spiritual king, Martin's instant death will be an absolute certainty. I could never have any doubts against Ricky's strength, so I knew that he could handle it!" Seeing that Ricky's power had become so potent, Soar felt giddy with excitement. Breathing a sigh of relief, he could finally lay his worries about Ricky to rest.

As Soar rejoiced at the news, an ominous feeling suddenly overtook Terrence and Samson. "I don't think you should celebrate yet. Things might get more complicated than we thought they would be. I can't wait to see what will happen between them,” Terrence mused with an apprehensive look on his face. They were not as confident as Soar about the current situation. They thought that, although Ricky had gained the upper hand in the battle for the time being, he should still proceed with extreme caution.

"It is normal that there is a change in my strength, and now you are totally different too,” Martin replied lightly as an unfathomable smile appeared across his face. There was no hint of hatred or anger in his tone. The more Martin appeared composed, the more severe the angry expression on Ricky's face became. As Ricky sensed the unusual aura exuding from Martin, he came to the realization that the battle would be long and fraught with danger. He knew that he had to prepare himself to face any hardship that Martin might throw at him.

"There is something I've been meaning to ask you," Martin said in a steady voice as he stared coldly at Ricky.

"Go ahead. You probably won't ever have a chance to ask otherwise. You'll be dead when the battle is over anyway," Ricky retorted with a faint smile on his face.

"Ha-ha. That's funny. It seems that the breakthrough indeed boost your confidence." Martin stopped for a moment and continued, "I want to ask you whether you are still able to attack me with the mighty rays of light. I'm willing to guess that you can't use that skill right now. I would not be able to stand in here and talk to you otherwise, isn't that right?"

"Yes, you are right,” Ricky frankly replied with a faint smile on his face. "But, even with my naked fists and my saber, destroying you would be a walk in the park.”

"Is that so? I'm afraid that you will change your mind when I show you my full strength!" Martin called out as a killing aura exuded from within him.

Boom! Boom! As his voice faded away, the power of ghost and resentment started to build up and surged through every bit of his body.

After that surge of power rose to a climax, two kinds of powers fused together into a brand-new form of power. It was the dark power and the Dark Enlightenment.

Astounded by what had just happened, Ricky stared at Martin with furrowed brows. It seemed to Ricky that Martin was no longer a human being. It was like he had become a ball of Dark Enlightenment.

It struck an awful terror into Ricky's heart as he came to the realization that Martin was way more dangerous than the Feminine Mutant that Pearl had.

'So, this is the change he underwent while I was concentrating my efforts on elevating my strength. It seems that Martin is no longer the same person he used to be. Now he is nothing but a ball of Dark Enlightenment. I sense that he still has his own memories though, * Ricky quietly thought to himself. Though Martin's strength and aura overwhelmed him, he still showed no fear that Martin could see.

"Since you have made a breakthrough, you should show me some of your best attacks to prove yourself. Mere word will not help you win this battle, after all. Let's get stared; I'm dying to see how powerful you are now,” Martin called out with a look of complete disdain on his face.

"I will deliver on my promise. I can assure you of that," Ricky coldly replied, not showing even an ounce of fear.

Ricky prepared himself and blew an enormous surge of strength towards Martin. Due to the massive improvement in his strength brought about by recent cultivation, Ricky's power was nothing less potent than Martin's, despite the fact that his strength was unstable on occasion.

"That's great! You've always played a defensive game before. Be a man and fight me!” Martin roared at Ricky with a vicious look on his face.
