Cynthia released Rachel’s hand.

Rachel had thought Cynthia would tell her to break up with Roger.

After that, she went upstairs and knocked gently on

Joey emerged from the room and greeted with a smile, “Hello, Lila.”

Lila smiled.

“Are you hungry? Let’s head downstairs so you can have dinner.

I cooked your favorites.”

Joey nodded and closed the door behind him.

Out of the corner of her eye, Lila caught a glimpse of the tablet screen on the table inside before the door was shut.

It seemed to be a series of codes, but Lila didn’t think seriously of it.

She just followed Joey downstairs to the dining room.

Sitting in his seat and looking at the delicious dishes on the table,

Joey turned to Lila and said, “This is a lot of food, Lila.

Come sit and eat with me.

I won’t be able to finish it all on my own.”

“Well…” Lila hesitated.

None of her employers had ever asked her to eat with them at the same table before.

After all, she was nothing but their helper.
