Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1430
What do you need it for?”
“I will use it as a gift.”
Dewayne’s expression turned serious.
“A model gun isn’t something that can be casually given to anyone.”
Although a model gun wasn’t as dangerous as an actual pistol, it could still hurt a person.
It could pierce through a paper board if shot continuously at close range.
Even if interns were given model guns, they were strictly prohibited from using them outside the shooting range to avoid accidents.
“Who are you giving it to?” Dewayne asked warily.
“Your junior fellow apprentice,” Hector said and coughed lightly.
Dewayne’s eyes widened.
“My fellow apprentice? Does it mean you’re taking in another apprentice? Do I know him? Why haven’t I heard of this?”
“What? Do I have to consult with you first to take in more apprentices?” Hector scoffed.
“I don’t want to talk about this with you.
What I need is the model gun.
I’ll take it in two days.”
Hector walked out of the office after that, leaving Dewayne in a daze for a long time.
Then, Dewayne’s phone rang, snapping him back to his senses.
He looked at the caller ID, and his temples immediately throbbed.
He picked up the phone and answered the call in a polite tone.
Meanwhile, in the Bennet family’s house, Joey sat on the sofa in the living room with the iPad in his hands.
He had been sitting there and playing with the iPad the whole morning.
After she was done cleaning, Lila came to check on Joey.
When she saw him still playing with the iPad, she asked worriedly, “Aren’t you sleepy, Joey? How about I get you a glass of milk and you go to bed after? You’ve been playing with your iPad for a long time.
It’s not good for your eyes.
You should take a break and rest.”
Knowing Lila was worried about him, Joey nodded and put down the iPad.
“Okay.”
“Good boy,” Lila said, rubbing Joey’s head with a smile.
She turned around and was about to go to the kitchen for the milk when the doorbell suddenly rang.
Joey’s face folded into a frown as he heard the doorbell ring.
Just as he was about to stand and check out who it was, Lila rushed out of the kitchen with a glass of milk.
“This is strange.
Who can it be at this time?” Lila mumbled as she wiped her hand on her apron.
The same question was running through Joey’s mind.
Who would come at noon?
Lila placed the milk on the table and said to Joey, “Drink the milk while it’s warm.
I’LL go and see who’s at the door.
