Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1436
As the foreman spoke, he gave Joey a quick side glance before taking his eyes back to where Hector was.
“I apologize.
Mr.
Brown, I must say, the boy has your eyes and lips.
He looks just like you!”
Hector’s eyes wandered for a while at the foreman’s obviously fawning face, and the smile he previously unveiled dimmed.
“Do we look alike?”
The foreman was so immersed in currying favor with him that the change in Hector’s expression slipped his attention.
“Yes! You’re very much alike.”
Joey rolled his eyes at how oblivious the foreman was.
“Well, then… You badly need to see an eye doctor,” Joey blurted out, without regard to how rude he might have sounded.
The foreman froze and wondered whether his ears were deceiving him.
Before he could react, Hector said, “He’s not my grandson.
He’s my apprentice.”
“I never accepted you as my master.” Joey raised his head and denied
Hector’s fresh declaration.
Hector shifted his gaze and snorted.
“But you took my membership card and came here.
That means you acquiesce to being my apprentice.
Kid, there’s no going back on that.”
The foreman gave each of them a glance and was quite lost at the kind of conversation the two were having.
Master and apprentice?
Regret about him misinterpreting their relationship as kinship and how he thought they looked so much like each other pounced on him.
The foreman was so ashamed that he couldn’t find any words to say.
To make up for his mistake, he led Hector and Joey into the Lounge where the VIP members of the shooting club were designated to be led at.
From the time he led them into the lounge to the second he left,
Joey didn’t utter a word about the situation they were in before
Hector’s arrival.
When he searched for any reaction from Hector’s face, he could tell he had no idea about their previous squabble or if they even had one.
The foreman exhausted an air of relief.
He scurried out of the room, lest any more time spent there would give him away.
He paged for a meeting and informed the rest to etch into their brains the boy’s face.
In the lounge, a cake prepared by the club was waiting to be touched on the table.
