Lila was about to continue her journey home when someone called her.

She turned around and saw the neighbor’s nanny walking toward her.

When the nanny reached Lila, they greeted each other and made their way to the Bennet family’s house together.

Meanwhile, the silver-gray car stopped a few meters away from the

Bennet family’s house.

Joey got out of the vehicle and looked at his watch.

There were still two minutes left.

Before he went out, he had changed his clothes.

There was only one thing left to do now.

Taking out a spray bottle from his school bag, he sprayed its content on his head.

His hair became wet instantly as if he had just washed it.

“Lila, isn’t that Joey?” the nanny asked.

She had stopped chatting with Lila to point at the boy.

“Joey?” Lila followed where the nanny was pointing and found Joey standing at the gate of the house.

She quickly approached him.

Taking note of his wet hair, she asked, “Joey, why are you here? Why is your hair wet?”

With his two canine teeth exposed, Joey replied, “I was waiting for you.”

“You were waiting for me?”

Joey nodded.

“Don’t worry about my hair.

It’s wet because I just washed it.

Anyway, what did you buy?”

Hearing this, Lila sighed in relief.

“That’s good, but why did you come out with wet hair? What if you catch a cold?”

“I’LL be fine.”

The nanny, who followed Lila, commented teasingly, “Lila, you’re so lucky.

He’s such a good boy.”

Lila curled the corners of her mouth into a proud smile.

Turning his attention to the nanny, Joey greeted in a sweet voice,

“Hello, nice to meet you.”

The nanny nodded in response.

She did not stay long to continue chatting with Lila.

Soon, she was walking back to her employer’s house.

Lila watched her leave before remembering Joey’s wet hair.

“Joey, let’s go inside.”

The boy obediently followed Lila inside, asking her again what she had bought.

Rachel was cutting some fruit in the kitchen when Joey and Lila entered the house, talking and laughing.

“Miss Bennet,” Lila greeted when she and Joey got in the kitchen.
