Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1453
It was not Carson’s fault, but he always talked about his relationship with Victor, which never failed to remind Joey that he was abandoned by his own father.
It was also the reason why he could not find it in himself to like Carson.
“Stop the car,” Joey said suddenly.
Hector and Carson looked at each other with alarmed expressions.
“Joey, don’t be mad.
Just ignore him,” Hector hurriedly said to placate him.
“Don’t take his words to heart.”
Joey did not respond.
Afraid that Joey would back out, Hector hit the backrest of the front passenger seat with his stick for the second time.
“You’d better explain it now.”

Library
Carson sighed helplessly.
He then handed a folder to Joey.
“Here’s the answer to your question.”
Joey glanced at the words written on the cover of the folder.
It turned out it was an examination report regarding Victor’s health.
“Even if you want him to be sentenced to death, at least give him a chance to make an appeal.”
When Joey made no move to take the folder, Carson added, “Kid, just read this.”
After hesitating for a few seconds, Joey finally took the folder.
For some reason, he was afraid of opening it.
He was curious about the answer that Carson mentioned, but he also did not want to know.
In the end, his curiosity won against his wariness.
He opened the folder and flipped through the papers inside.
He stopped when he saw some MRI findings of a person’s brain.
Before he could analyze the technical terms written on the paper, Carson spoke again.
“It’s not that he didn’t want to recognize you as his son.
At that time, he just couldn’t remember anyone, including you.”
Joey froze in his seat.
Carson studied his reaction through the rear-view mirror, but he looked away when he caught a glimpse of disbelief in Joey’s eyes.
He did not want to lie to the boy.
If there was someone to blame in this situation, it would be Victor.
He could not tell Joey the truth, however.
If he did that, Victor would have to remain in prison for a long time.
“He.
He doesn’t remember us?” The words “temporary amnesia” on the paper were glaring at Joey, but he still could not find it in himself to believe it.
“You’ve seen the examination report.
You’re a smart kid.
I believe I don’t have to explain it for you to understand the words written there,” Carson muttered.
