Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1475
Slowly, Wallace recovered from his state of panic and found people staring at him curiously.
It was only then that he realized the elevator had stopped.
He wasn’t dead.
“Mr.
Finch, are you okay?” Though scared, the subordinate tried to ignore it.
“You don’t look good, sir.
Should I get a doctor?”
Wallace was still a little confused, but when he finally came to his senses, he asked, “What time is it?”
“Uh Ten twenty-three.”
“Shit!” He was already ten minutes late.
Wallace straightened his clothes in a hurry.
When he put into his hand into his pocket, he froze.
It was empty! His heart immediately sank.
It couldn’t be empty.
Where was the U-disk?
He had watched his life flash before his very eyes some moments ago, so he was still a little disoriented.
However, he expected that disk to be in his pocket.
The subordinate looked at the confused expression on Wallace’s face and asked cautiously, “Mr.
Finch? Did you lose something?”
“Well… My U disk.
The U disk is gone!” Wallace murmured more to himself than to the man.
If the U disk was gone, then he might as well just have died in that elevator.
Wallace was in a total panic.
He couldn’t go up there empty-handed.
The subordinate looked around.
Soon, his gaze fell on a silver U disk in the corner of the elevator.
He quickly picked it up and held it up.
“Is this what you’re looking for, sir?”
“Yes, yes!” Wallace’s eyes Lit up and he quickly took it from the man’s hand.
The subordinate smiled with relief and watched as Wallace carefully put it into his pocket as if it was a treasure.
Little did he know that it was indeed a life-saving treasure for Wallace.
Feeling more relieved now, Wallace looked at the man and asked,
“What’s your name?”
“Larson, Mr.
Finch.
My name is Larson Ortiz.
I’ma new intern in the technology department,” Larson answered loudly.
Wallace looked at him for a few more seconds and said, “Okay Larson.
I’LL come looking for you when I’m done.”
Larson couldn’t believe his ears.
This was the opportunity he had been waiting for.
The competition among the new interns was intense.
Out of twenty people, only three of them would be retained in the end.
The fact was that all of them were doing very well, but he was an intern from a university that was barely known.
He was sure of being the first to be sent out.
Of course, he wasn’t okay with this, especially since he had to keep working until it was over, only for the other interns with better educational backgrounds to take the spots.
