Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1497
Odin was halfway from standing up, but Rachel shook her head, refusing him again.
“I can drive myself back.
I know you’re a busy man, and I can’t take more of your time than I already have.”
Rachel swung her bag to her arm and walked toward the door.
“You don’t seem to be a person who’s in a hurry,” Odin remarked, looking at how leisurely she was as she walked.
Rachel turned her head in confusion.
“You extended help to me in the King of Hearts’ name, and you only want Wallace’s life in exchange.” Odin didn’t seem to be in a rush as he spoke, but it was enough to rile someone up.
“Now that we’ve tied the partnership up, I didn’t hear Wallace’s name come from your lips again.
It seems that you’re not in a hurry at all.”
“Do you know about wolves?” Rachel asked, not directly responding to
Odin’s evaluation.
“When a wolf hunts, it doesn’t pounce on its potential prey-a young sheep perhaps-and devour it all at once.
It patiently waits until the sheep grows up, gets bigger, and fattens.
And when the sheep lets its guard down, the wolf will pounce on it and kill it.
Mr.
Sullivan, I know you are such a wolf.
And so am I.”
Rachel reached for the knob and turned it.
Then she left.
Odin could only watch her disappear behind the closing elevator doors.
About five minutes later, there was a knock on his office door.
A man in black walked in and respectfully called his attention.
“Mr.
Sullivan, that woman’s car has already left.”
“I see.”
The man eyed Odin carefully before asking, “Do you want us to follow her?”
Turning his head to look at the glass of water on the coffee table, which Rachel had drunk from, Odin squinted and said, “Save your sweat.”
The man didn’t understand.
Odin continued, “She’s not as simple as you think.
Why would we even consider tailing her? Do you think she’s dense?”
Odin could already make out that sending men to follow her would deem futile.
“Then, should we leave her as is?” A frown was playing on the man’s face.
“Do you really believe what she told you, and are you intent on this partnership with her?”
With a faint smile, Odin said, “Don’t you think she looks like someone?”
