Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1496
It was natural for the little guy to summon worry for his father.
Carson knew of this.
He patted the boy’s head and said in a calm voice, “Are you scared?”
Joey lowered his head, not giving Carson any response aside from silence.
He bored his eyes on the floor.
Besides the hush, he welcomed the contact from Carson unlike before.
“Don’t worry.
Your father has done a legion of unacceptable things that I lost count already.
I bet even Death himself wouldn’t want to reap his soul this early,” Carson assured ludicrously.
He gave him a small smile before straightening up.
“Now, let’s go.
It’s getting late.
I heard from Hector that he sneaked you out of your home.
Is that right? I’ll drive you home.”
Carson withdrew his hand and turned on his heels, heading for the stairs.
After a few steps, Carson felt that Joey wasn’t following him, so he stopped in his tracks and spun to look at his little figure.

Joey raised his head to look at the door and muttered under his breath, “I’ll come to see you tomorrow.”
His voice was so light that only he could hear it.
After saying that, Joey rushed towards where Carson stood and left
Hector’s place with a heavy heart.
On the 32nd floor of the Sullivan Group building
“A toast for a successful cooperation.” Odin picked up the glass filled with red wine, which had previously been prepared by a subordinate of his, and slightly tilted it toward Rachel.
“I’m allergic to alcohol, so water will suffice.” Rachel poured herself a glass of water instead and raised it for the offered toast.
“To a productive partnership.”
Odin savored the richness of his wine and looked at her with his deep-set eyes.
“Are you settled for now? If not, I can arrange a place for you.
Just say the word.”
“There’s no need,” Rachel declined.
“I enjoy the process of finding my own place to live.”
Odin didn’t insist.
He raised an eyebrow at her and nodded.
“Okay.”
“That’s settled then.
Anyway, I have something else to do, so I’ll leave first.
If you need my help, just tell me.
I’ll try my best to help you,” Rachel said and propped herself up.
“At least let me drive you there.”
