Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1504
Rachel thought that something must have happened.
But then, she didn’t expect that Victor had regained his memories.
She asked, “Does Joey know?”
“No.
Well, Joey stayed with him for a while before Victor fell unconscious.
If Victor isn’t able to make it, at least there won’t be many regrets.” Saying that, Carson took something out of his pocket and handed it to Rachel.
Rachel was stunned.
It was the Beloved.
Rachel did not take it and just looked at him blankly.
Carson said, “He always had this with him.
He kept it for four years.
It’s yours, so I should return it to you now.”
Glancing at the glimmering diamond, Rachel choked.
“It’s not mine.
If you want to return it to its original owner, you should give it back to Victor.”
“But he gave it to you, didn’t he?” Carson put the diamond on the table.
“If you don’t want it, just throw it away.
I’m only responsible for giving it back to you.
I’m leaving now.
Tell Joey that I’ll come back to him when I am free.”
Staring at the Beloved on the table, Rachel did not stop him.
Carson glanced at her, wanting to say something, but he swallowed his words on second thought.
“Apliaria will be in chaos for a while.
Victor has tried his best to not get Bennet Group involved in this, so I hope it doesn’t happen.
Also, I might not be able to attend you and Roger’s wedding, but
I’ll send you a gift later.” With that, Carson turned around and left.
After changing into home clothes on the second floor, Joey went down the staircase.
When he got to the living room, he looked around briefly and asked, “Mommy, where is Uncle Carson?”
Rachel put away the Beloved and answered in a soothing voice, “He said something urgent came up, so he had to leave.
But he will come back next time.”
Joey thought Rachel was hiding something from him, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
He fixed his gaze on her until he was sure she was alright, keeping his suspicion to himself for the time being.
“Who wants him to come again? Definitely not me!” He curled his lips.
“I won’t open the door for him when he shows up again.”
Staring at the little boy’s bright eyes, Rachel couldn’t take her mind off what Carson told her minutes ago.
“Joey…” She wanted to tell him about Victor’s situation, but she became hesitant and stopped.
She was at a loss, not sure if it was okay to go on with it.
It was pretty obvious that Joey’s mood changed for the better after he met Victor.
