Carson and Rachel followed him inside the house, but they stayed in the Living room.

The moment Carson sat on the sofa, Rachel asked, “I see that you’re back.

What about him?”

Carson’s eyes darkened as he glanced at Joey, who was heading upstairs to change his clothes.

“He is not in a good condition,” Carson said, making sure that Joey could not hear him.

Rachel pursed her lips.

In fact, Carson had lied to Joey.

Victor had been severely injured, and because he had not rested well, he had gotten a high fever and was unconscious.

Carson sat down and said with a smile, “Victor is worried about you and Joey, and right now, his condition is unstable.

If he doesn’t get better, then I will have to make an arrangement for you two.”

Rachel’s eyes narrowed as she suggested, “Maybe you can find another doctor for him.”

“Oh, it’s too late.” Carson shook his head with a sigh.

“I don’t think Victor is going to be able to hold on.

But he has no regrets.”

Rachel looked at him in confusion.

“He got his memories back, and to be honest, I took Joey to see him today.” Carson knew that he would not be able to hide the truth from

Rachel for long.

And just as expected, Rachel was not surprised to hear that.

The bicker between Joey and Carson looked real, but she knew her son better than anyone, and she could tell whether he liked Carson or not.

He had hated the very sight of Carson before, but now it seemed like he had gotten closer to him.
