Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1530
“Let’s eat.
The food will turn cold.
I’ve asked your assistant about your work schedule.
You have no work this afternoon.
How about I take you to the shop to try the dress?”
While speaking, he picked up a piece of fish and placed it on her plate.
Noticing his sweet gestures, Rachel was lost in thought.
After a while, she said, “Okay.”
Meanwhile, in the Bennet family’s house, Quintin was dozing off.
“Uncle Quintin? Uncle Quintin?” Sitting cross-legged on the edge of the bed, Joey gently patted Quintin’s cheek twice.
Quintin stirred in the bed but was so sleepy that he could barely keep his eyes open.
He yawned and murmured, “Joey, please leave me alone for now.”
But Joey had no intention of letting him go as he held his chin with both hands.
“What are you talking about, Uncle Quintin? I don’t understand.
Why do you want me to leave you alone? Didn’t you want to talk with me? We are done talking yet.
You can’t sleep!”
“Kid, I’ve been on the plane for a long time.
I’m so sleepy.
It’s late at night in the Red Hackers now.
My body hasn’t adjusted to the time difference yet,” Quintin reasoned, his voice hoarse from being sleepy.
“But you’re not at the Red Hackers.
You’re in Apliaria.”
Quintin opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but before he could do so, he fell back to sleep.
Joey waited but only heard Quintin’s snore.
Clenching his fists, Joey gestured to hit Quintin in the face but withdrew his hand silently.
Joey felt thirsty after talking with
Quintin.
Seeing the water bottle on the table not far away, Joey jumped off the bed to get it.
As he opened the cap and was about to chug the water down, he caught a glimpse of an envelope under the laptop on the table.
The envelope was opened slightly, revealing a part of the paper inside.
It appeared to be an airline ticket.
After looking closely, Joey read the words “Marian Islands” written on it.
Joey found it odd.
Wouldn’t Quintin stay in Apliaria for long? Why did he already have the return ticket?
Curious, Joey put down the bottle and reached for the envelope.
When Joey almost reached the envelope, someone knocked on the door.
“Joey? Mr.
Riley? Are you in there?”
Quintin had been in deep sleep.
Lila’s voice interrupted his sweet dreams, and he woke up.
Joey got startled too.
He quickly withdrew his hand and turned around.
Dazed, Quintin saw Joey at the table.
There was confusion in his voice when he asked, “Joey, when did you get out of bed?”
