Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1542
After all, he was worried about her.
“I’m fine.” Rachel insisted that everything was alright, but in reality, depression was eating her up so much that she couldn’t breathe.
Everyone felt distressed by the situation.
They knew that Rachel would get sad after what happened since she was married to Victor four years ago.
The things she had done, no matter how crazy, were all because she loved him deeply.
However, they didn’t know that it wasn’t her.
It was the original
Rachel.
She had no way to explain, so she could only reply that she was fine.
Even so, they weren’t convinced and still felt worried about her.
While en route to the funeral home, Rachel closed her eyes.
The trip was going to take a while since their destination was in the suburb, a long way from the Bennet family’s house.
Rachel didn’t get to sleep a wink last night.
She tossed and turned, but she still couldn’t fall asleep.
She could only stare at the ceiling until dawn as if she was back to the days after she had woken up from a coma three years ago.
Back then, she wanted to resist the effect of the drug and fought to keep her eyes open day by day.
During that time, she was unwilling to speak.
It had been a while since she closed her eyes, and Rachel seemed to have drifted into sleep and started dreaming.
In her dream, she was taken to the moment when she had just returned to Apliaria and saw how Victor got shot for protecting Joey.
Worried about her son, she ran to check on him.
Victor recognized her at a single glance.
He forced her to the wall and told her that his life was hers.
He would cherish every bit of it and wait until she was ready to take his life.
When she heard these words again in the dream, tears started streaming down her cheeks.
Victor was a little stunned when he saw her crying, and he asked why.
Tears, however, blurred her eyes.
She tried her best to look at him, but she couldn’t see his face at all.
“Why?”
Rachel’s voice sounded almost like a whisper.
Still driving, Andy suddenly heard her speak.
When he turned his head to check on Rachel, he saw she was sleeping, yet her face looked so glum.
“Rachel? What are you talking about?”
A moment later, Rachel murmured again.
“Why did you lie to me?”
Andy couldn’t understand the meaning behind Rachel’s words, and just when he was about to ask more, he saw a tear falling from the corner of her eye.
