Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1601
Alberto slowly opened his eyes and looked at her momentarily before saying, “You’re welcome.”
Hearing his voice once more, Rachel clenched her fists.
The Maybach came to a screeching halt.
Rachel was still thinking about Alberto’s familiar voice and inevitably jerked forward when the car suddenly stopped.
Just when she was about to bump her head into the seat in front of her, she felt a warm hand on her forehead.
Stunned, she Looked up and saw Alberto’s hand.
“I’m sorry.
I had to hit the brakes because an old man appeared out of nowhere,” the driver apologized at once.
With a blank expression, Alberto withdrew his hand from Rachel’s forehead and ordered the driver, “Keep driving.”
The driver sighed with relief when he saw that Alberto wasn’t trying to scold him.
With a firm nod, he continued to drive the car.
Rachel leaned back but unconsciously glanced at Alberto’s hand.
She wasn’t looking at it because it was beautiful, but because he had a scar on his wrist, which seemed like the cut was caused by slashing his wrist.
Had Alberto tried to kill himself?
Rachel had just suspected the relationship between Alberto and Victor and had even thought that Alberto was Victor, but after seeing the scar, her doubts seemed to have disappeared.
She knew well that Victor didn’t have a scar on his wrist.
Their voices were indeed very similar, but that was it.
Victor’s hands were not as warm as Alberto’s, and he didn’t have the faint smell of medicinal herbs on him as Alberto did.
Rachel didn’t know why, but she could feel her heart sinking to the bottom of her belly as she felt a sense of suppressing pressure in her chest that almost rendered her breathless.
She felt both uncomfortable and flustered by the feeling.
“Does it hurt?” Alberto asked softly, sensing her gaze.
Rachel took a breath to calm down before she shook her head and answered, “No.
Thank you, Mr.
Gibson.”
“Sure thing.”
Alberto always gave off a cold aura because he rarely ever dealt with people.
He never left any room for others to speak and was always curt and concise with his words.
And now, the atmosphere between the two became awkward again.
The car slowly drove toward downtown, but the skies were pouring down like there was no tomorrow.
There was a grave silence in the car, and Rachel could hear her breath.
Suddenly, a cold gust of wind blew, and Rachel let out a sneeze.
Her sneeze caught the attention of Alberto and the man in the passenger seat.
Alberto stared at her deeply before taking out a blanket from the small storage box in the car and handing it to her.
“Take this,” he said flatly.
